“OSAT Blog Hop - Winter Holiday”

Wow! Can you believe it's November already?  Time seems to be going so quickly.  Our hop this month is a week early, but that just means you get to see awesome cool projects a week early.  Come join me as we take the November OSAT Blog Hop

Since our theme this month is winter, what a better way to celebrate that than with a snowman?  I wanted the Seasonal Chums stamp set and dies, but knew it wasn't a necessity until I saw all the cool things that could be done with this set.  Here's the projects I came up with.

My card started with the snowman of course.  I stamped him in Memento black ink and colored in with the new Stampin' Blends.  I then cut him out with the matching framelit.  So easy!  I layered him on Silver Glimmer paper and then onto a scalloped edge layering circle in Bermuda Bay.  The snowflakes are cut from the snowflake dies also in the set.  I embossed the background with the Sweater 3d embossing folder and layered onto Thick Whisper White cardstock.  The Merry Christmas from the set was stamped and punched out with the Classic Label Punch.  The two larger snowflakes, the snowman and the sentiment are all popped up on dimensionals.  I really love when a picture you have in your mind comes out even better than you imagined.  I love this snowman!!!

I knew I wanted to make an ornament with the snowman and lying in bed the other night I remembered that I had this awesome flat type Christmas blubs.  I stamped on a piece of clear window sheet with our Basic Black Archival ink. I zapped it a bit with the heat gun to speed up the drying process. I cut it out using the Layering Circles dies.  I then colored from the backside with the Stampin' Blends.  I know, neat huh?  I used the Fine Tip glue pen to cover the snowman's body and then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter on it.  I put it aside to let it dry completely.  After it was dried I rolled the window sheet up and popped it into the ornament.  I still felt like it needed a little something so I added some acrylic ice cubes that I had in my stash of cool things to use someday.  LOL!  I made a hanger and a bow using the Mini Tinsel Trim.

I hope you enjoyed my projects and that you will continue onto the talented Jennifer Hill's blog.

“OSAT Blog Hop - Throwback Thursday”

  1. Welcome to the OSAT Throwback Thursday blog hop! I can't wait to see what everyone came up with on this fun themed hop. You may have gotten here by the way Dena Rekow's blog or some other way, but regardless you can go to the bottom of the blogger list on this post at anytime and pick up wherever you left off. So let's get started.
  2. Here is the card I cased. It was in the days before the Big Shot. This was made using oval punches
  1. Here is the same layout made with all new current products. I love the Smitten Mitten Framelits. Lots of cool pieces in this set and I love that there are little ones to do the embossing. My old card I used the "paper crimper". Remember that? Seems like a hundred years ago. LOL! I made the sentiment using the new Pretty Label punch and putting it back in the punch two more times after punching it out the first time and then I just trimmed the point ends it left. Looks like a whole different punch. The strip at the top was embossed with a piece from the framelits. I ran it through a couple of times to get the length I wanted.

Every year I make a framed project for Christmas. I have many frames and now I've given some to my daughters because they hold memories for them. I usually do a frame project for my Create for Christmas class as well. This is one from two years ago.

  1. Here is what I came up with. I haven't had time to search out frames this year for my class yet, but I had frame that had a pic in it that I removed and updated this frame a bit with the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon. I think it accents the Old Olive in the DSP. I embossed the mittens and snowflakes using Copper Embossing Powder, added a strip of copper washi tape as well. I molded the ribbon a bit and made the tails of the bow stay using glue dots. The long framed strips I used Tear & Tape to adhere it in place.

  2. Please visit the next blogger Tina Riddle. I'm sure she has something amazing to share with us.
