August Make & Takes

Here are a couple of the make and takes I did at my August workshops.  I chose the colors using our awesome new Color Coach from Stampin'Up!  This is a very valuable tool and is great for those who are color challenged and even for those who aren't.    I have to admit before the color renovation I was probably in a rut using the same colors together over and over, but now with all the new great colors and the Color Coach, it's made everything new again.
Colors used: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade and Tangerine Tango

Colors used here: Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Cajun Craze
Stamp Set: Just Believe (116948) Wood Mount or (120453) Clear  page 109

Stop back tomorrow for a beautiful card I made using the brand new set Day of Gratitude.  You are going to love this set.  This set can be purchased starting tomorrow September 1 as can many other new stamp sets and accessories from the new Holiday Mini Catalog.

Blessings,
Renee

Another Sneak Peak

Saturday night!  Wow I had good intentions of having this posted yesterday, but well......just didn't get around to it is all I can say.  Too much to do and not enough time lately I guess.  Anyway this card is so much prettier in real life.  It's actually GORGOUS!!  If I do say so myself. *grin*  What is the ruffle on this card you ask?  Well I'm so glad you did.  I used the Waffle Paper like I did in the card I showed you on Thurdsay, except this time I scrunched it up and made a ruffle.  This paper is so cool.  You are going to love it.  It will be available on September 1 as will the stamp set I used, Bells & Boughs.

Here are the things used to make this card:  Elegant Sorrie DSP, Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla cardstock, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon, Adhesive Backed Pearls, Lots of SU punches, Stampin' Write markers.

Renee

Finally!!!

Yes, today I finally got time to dig into my new goodies from the soon to be released Holiday Mini Catalog.  How soon you ask?  September 1, 2010.  If you haven't received your copy and would like one please feel free to contact me.  ibecakes@airadv.net

The stamp set I used is Bells & Boughs.  It will sell for $19.95 in wood mount or $14.95 in clear.  It's a 4 piece set.  The punch I used is new as well.  It's called Decorative Label and there is actually a stamp set that this cooridnates with as well.  What's that behind the words?  It's the new Waffle Paper.  A great new medium to punch, cut, die cut, layer.  Lots of options with this and you can order a 2 roll package of Metallic Silver & Gold for $9.95 or Early Espresso & Basic Black.  5 yards on each roll.  I cant' wait to play with this some more.  The Cherry Cobbler ribbon is actually called 1/2" seam binding and will sell for $6.95 for a 10 yd. roll.

This Holiday Mini has this and so much more to share with you.  Look for more in the coming days and weeks ahead.
Oh and one last thing the background on this card was made by using the brayer and inking up the Textured Plate in Texture Plates kit #4 with Crumb Cake ink and then running it through the Big Shot.  Crumb Cake cardstock was used as well.  And the pearls are a strip from the Adhesive Backed Pearls.  I just cut the strip in half an added it for a finishing touch.

Here it is up close.  Sorry it's not the best picture.  I was trying to show you the Smooch that I added onto the flowers.  It's very sparkly

Hostess Gift

I'm posting this from Northern Michigan on this Saturday afternoon.  I had my sister Carin's Stampin'Up! party on Thursday night and it turned out great.  Lots of fun ladies and good fun, food and fellowship.  Oh and her party sales weren't too bad either.  She has enough in sales to get the extra $25 in free hostess dollars to spend and you could too by having a party (in home or book party) of $350 in sales by August 31.  Hurry and contact me now and we'll get you on your way to earning more than ever before.

Frank and I then left my sister's and have come even farther north for a couple of days to just get away from it all, but I did want to share the hostess gift I made for her.

This is a little box filled with 3 x 3 cards and the flower on top was made using the Tropical Island Big Shot die.

Take care and I hope you're having a great weekend.
Blessings,
Renee

Last Week

Sorry about no posts last week.  It was a hectic week and for the most part this week will be too, but I wanted to show you what kept me so busy last week.  It was Vacation Bible School for our church last week and surprise I was in charge of crafts.  Lindsay was the director and she did an awesome job!  I'm so proud of her.  Here are a few of the crafts the kids made.

The letters were cut out with the Big Shot and the Sizzlet strip Alphabet (can't remember the name right now)

This is a Handy Hero bedside caddy.  HHQ (Hero Head Quarters of course)  The Crop-a-dile sure came in handy for punching the holes in this and all the cardboard backing came from the DSP packs.  I knew I was saving all that for a reason.  *wink*

Well that's all for tonight.  Tomorrow I have Bible Study in the morning and then a Stampin'Up! workshop at 11:00 am.  Then to pack and get ready to leave early Wednesday morning for my sister's in Cadillac and when I arrive we are headed to Loafer's Glory for the day.  I've wanted to go there for so long and now I'll have the chance.  I'm really looking forward to it.  Then Thursday I'll be doing Carin's Stampin'Up! workshop, which I'm sure will be a good time.  Finally Thursday night Frank will be coming up with my parents and he and I will be spending the weekend at Bear Lake for a little time away.  I'll try to get back to regular posting next week.

Renee

A Little Purse or Two

Aren't these purses just too cute?  I found the directions for these on Patti Lee's blog.  I thought they were so cute and had to make a couple myself.  They will hold about 3 Hershy kisses.  As you can see from the picture they are really tiny.

Hope you enjoyed them.  I'm off to a parade in the big town of Bay Port for the Fish Sandwich Festival Parade.  Yes, I know you are all jealous.  This will be the third parade for us this summer and when you've been to one parade in Huron County, well let's just say you've pretty much seen what most of the parades will be like for the season.  Oh well, at least I'll be spending time with family, which most of the time is good, not all, but most. *wink*

Have a great day!

Renee

Sock Monkey Returns

Let's face it folks, it's been too long since I've shared a Sock Monkey card with you, so today is your lucky day!!  I made this for a friend of mine who I knew could use a little encouragement.  When was the last time you did that?  Sent a card just to encourage?  I know I don't do it as often as I think about it and that is a shame.  I am missing out on the blessing of blessing someone else.  So I encourage you to start sending those beautiful cards you make just for no reason at all.  Let someone know that you have thought about them.

This card was paper pieced.  It was a little time consuming, but hey my friend was worth every minute it took.  The wagon was made using the new In Color DSP paper pack.  So many designs in this pack and in all 5 In Colors.  It's really beautiful paper.  The Sock Monkey himself was pieced with the Elegant Soiree DSP.  Soft Suede and Baja Breeze two great colors that go together oh so well.  The wagon is from the NEW More Monkey Accessories.  That's right Sock Monkey has another set of accessories.  This wagon I'm sure will get lots of use.  Imagine all the stuff you could pile in this baby.  I got the color combination from our great NEW Color Coach.  You really do need one of these.  As always you can order any of the things to make this and a whole lot more from my SU website.  Click on the SHOP NOW button at the top of the page.  You can also still contact me to place your order as well.

Have a great day and a fun weekend!

Blessings,
Renee

Butterflies Abound

If you've noticed anything about the New Idea Book and Catalog, you've noticed that butterflies are plentiful.  This for me is a good thing.  I love butterflies unlike my DD Lindsay who seems to be afraid of butterflies, but I'm sure she's not afraid of paper ones. *wink*   When I saw this set it went on my list instantly.  I love the designs of the butterflies (houndstooth on this one) and I also love the saying that is included in this set.  To be honest, when I read the saying I think of the Dolly Parton song.....Love is like a butterfly. *Ãœ*  I think that a butterfly is one of God's most beautiful creatures.  They make me smile when I see a butterfly.  Maybe that is why God created them...to bring smiles to our faces!

Here is what was used:
Stamp Set:  Butterfly Prints (#121049 Wood mount $16.95 or #120738 Clear mount $12.95)
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Accessories: Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Butterfly Punch, Extra Large Oval, Scallop Oval, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Mat Pack, Paper-Piercing Tool, Adhesive back half pearls, dimensionals, Big Shot and Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Hope you enjoyed my project for today.  Special thanks to those who leave comments on my blog.  They really do mean so much to me.  Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,
Renee
