A Chocolate Chickie Anyone?

I had seen a card made by demonstrator Peggy Baillie and knew I wanted to case her idea of using the Lattice Big Shot die in this way.  I changed mine up from Peggy's, but her's was the inspiration for me.  Hope you like it.  Look for another cool Big Shot project tomorrow.  Have I mentioned I love my Big Shot? *grin*

Sorry about my lack of postings this week.  I've kind of been in a weird winter sort of funk so I thought maybe if I made a couple of Easter cards that might help me to "think spring".

This card is made using the single stamp Chocolate Bunny from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Isn't he cute?  Almost good enough to eat!  The words are from the set Well Scripted also in the Occasions Mini and the little butterfly is from the handstamped by stamp with my name on it.  I just used my marker to ink up the butterfly.  This is stamped on the Lots of Tags Sizzlets Big Shot die (2009/10 Idea Book and Catalog).  It was very easy to get it stamped in the right place since I have this set in the clear mount.  I haven't been completely sold on the clear mounts  (no reason in particular, I just am not good with change.  LOL), but for words I'm finding them great.  I then layered it on 2 of the wide oval punches that were staggered.  The background is the Perfect Dots Impressions Folder and the corners were punched with the Scallop Trim Corner punch, again all from the Occasions Mini.  Remember these items will only be available through April 30 so don't miss out because we never know what will be carried over into the next catalog.

I'll have another Easter card for you tomorrow so stop back.

Shimmer Mist Try!

Ok this is my first try at using the Shimmer Paint with the alcohol.  We use to do it with the Pearl Ex back when SU carried that and I thought it would be about the same, but it is a little different or maybe I'm just a little older and my eyes aren't what they use to be.  Anyway I got this card made and then decided as an afterthought to give it few squirts.  It's very shimmery.  Hope it sparks some creativity for you today.

Another Flower Pin

I've had so much fun making these flower pins and had to share another one with you.  Love the greens so thought it would be a good St. Pat's Day type pin.  Not that I'm Irish, but I love pins.  Besides my mom loves green so I'm sort of seeing one of these in her future.  They are so easy to make.  All you need is material, SU's Flower Folds Big Shot die (and the Big Shot of course) and some hot glue.  I added a little tulle again.  The button I used was a In Color button from last years in colors.

Hope you're having a great Friday!

Razzle Dazzle

This is a card I cased from someone, who cased it from someone else.  I can't remember who it was.  If it was yours please tell me and I'll give you credit.  I loved the use of the stamp set and of course the blue and brown are always great together.  The words are from the Level 1 hostess set Picture This in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Here's to a good day!

A Tutorial of Sorts

I had promised that I would show how the little mini album HERE was made and I finally got around to taking some pictures and making a tutorial of sorts.  Compared to a lot of them on the web, this is quite pathetic, but I hope you can understand what I did.

Take one sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock and score at 3", 6", 9" going in both directions.
Then as you can see here cut up to the 3" score as shown in the photo below.

Now this might be a little confusing to show in just a picture as opposed to video, but starting at one corner, fold accordian style as shown below.  You should end up with a stack that is 3" square.
These are the pieces you will need for your covers.  I used a cereal box, but any cardboard will work.  A lot of times I save the cardboard that comes in the packet of DSP.  Your DSP should be cut at 4" and your covers 3".
Mittering your corners will give you nice corners on your album as shown below.
Glue your covers to the folded book pages.  After you have glued the front and back covers you will need to go and adhere two pages together throughout the book to make it into pages.  I hope that makes sense.  Once you get it to this point I'm sure it will make sense, if not email me and let me know and I'll try to explain better.  You can adhere your ribbon onto the book before the covers go on as in the first one I showed you or you can adhere after and it will go on the outside of your book.  Either way is fine.
I decorated this one using the Hostess Only set called Picnic Parade.  This set is available as a hostess choice for a workshop party total of $300 and is in the Occasions Mini Catalog, so it will only be available until April 30, 2010.  Why not book a party and you can earn this cute stamp set in either wood mount or clear mount for free.  Call me today! (989) 453-3267

So that's it.  Like I said not a real great tutorial, but I hope you get the idea.  If you make one, post on your blog and please let me know or if you don't have a blog, send me a picture.  I would love to see what you come up with.

Blessings,
Renee

I just love to create things using pictures of my girls.  I had our Christmas picture from this year, that when I printed it I had messed up on the wording, so instead of throwing away the picture I punched out the girls faces and they had been laying on my desk for weeks now.  So yesterday I decided to make one of these step cards with it.  I'll just leave it set out somewhere in the house so I can enjoy it.  Ok,I'm probably a little biased, but I think my girls are beautiful and they really are the light of my life and forever in my heart.  I love you my girls.

Enjoy your day!

Happy Valentine's Day

Just a quick card for today.  We have a Secret Sister group at church and yesterday was the reveal party.  My secret sis has been Ruth Badgley, a sweet friend and also a customer and fellow paper lover so as you can imagine my gifts have been awesome.  Here is the card she made for me.  Isn't it adorable?

Thanks Ruth.  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

A Couple More Card Swaps

Here's a couple more card swaps I received in the swap I recently was in.  They both are absolutely beautiful.  I hope you enjoy them.
Not sure who this card was made by, but I'm thinking maybe the hostess Lyssa?  No name was on the back.  If it's yours let me know so I can give you credit.  Don't you love the shimmer paint used on this.  Shimmer paint and rubbing alcohol spritzed on with a fine mister.  Love it and oh so pretty.
This one was made by Debbie Prante.  Beautiful card Debbie.  Love the color combo.

Thanks for stopping by!

Catching Up!

It's been several busy days this past week and I'm sorry for my sporadic posts. My sister and her friend are now officially open for business again in their new salon and day spa location at 367 N. Elkton Road, Elkton, Michigan (989) 453-3731. Change can be hard, but this will be so good for Trish and her 3 sweet and adorable 2 year olds. It will be great to have mommy right close by. I’m so happy for Trish and Michele both. Now I’m looking forward to my day at the spa. I’m thinking the full works are in order after all the painting, hauling, moving or at least that is what my body is saying.  *grin* Really I enjoy doing things for others and would have done it regardless. Best Wishes Trish and Chele in your new salon.

After typing the above I couldn’t help but post a pic of the three cuties. They are such a joy and I was so tickled today when Michele told me the minute she walked into their house this morning, the first thing Sadie (pictured on the bottom) wanted to know was where was Nana (those are long a’s, not as in Nana Grandma) I’m not old enough for that. *wink* I just love ‘em to pieces.

Then on top of all this I had an order for some last minute wedding favors that had to be ready to fly to Hawaii today. Yes that’s right, I’m a world stamper. LOL I was happy with how they turned out, but I’m thinking they will be using linen napkins instead of paper towels. LOL  All supplies are Stampin'Up! and most are available right now in the Occasions Mini Catalog which you can view by clicking on the catalog on the right-hand side of this blog and it will take you to my SU website.

See ya tomorrow!

A Beautiful Day and Card

It's a beautiful sunny Monday morning here in the Thumb of Michigan although they say that a good 5"-8" of snow is on it's way.  Doesn't matter to me.  I do love snow to a point and we haven't had much this winter so I don't think we can complain too much.  Besides my hubby tells me the farmers need the snow so henceforth we need it as well since he works for John Deere.

I don't have any thing to share today that I created, but I do have something that another demo made. Her name is Oksana Semenska.  I thinkg this card is absolutely lovely.  There is some crystal effects and glitter on it that is hard to see in the photo.

I participated in a demo only card swap and I have to say I received some beautiful cards in return and that is what I will be sharing the next few days due to helping my sister Michele and her best friend Trish get settled into their new salon and day spa.  This has been a dream of Trish's for sometime and as most of you mothers out there can appreciate, her new building is attached to her home so she will not be far from her 3 precious 2 year olds.  Those early years are so precious and I'm so happy for Trish as well as Michele to have a new location only a few miles from the old location.  Congrats Trish and Michele!

Hope you enjoy the cards as much as I have.
Blessings,
Renee

New Idea with Heart Border Punch

Here’s what I have for you today. I took the new Heart Corner Punch and instead of using it on a corner I started it out on the side of the card and then worked my way around to line it up. It’s hard to explain, but if you just give it a try I’m sure you’ll see what I mean. It’s not difficult if I can do it. I really like using it this way. Give it a try and let me know what you think.  This card is 4" x 8".

Hope you’re having a great Friday!

Lady GaGa Anyone?

Just a quick post here tonight.  I'll have some stamping to show you tomorrow.  This is my latest creation and probably my most unique request of all time.  I'm not a fan, but hey they pay for it, I'll make it.  Stop back tomorrow for some stamping inspiration that you'll be sure to go GAGA for.  LOL

Fancy Favor

Sorry about no post yesterday.  I went to post and guess what?  My camera battery was dead.  I have another one and guess what?  Can't find it.  Lithium batteries are not cheap so I waited until the battery charged.
Anyway, here is what I've got for you today.

This is made using the awesome Big Shot Die Fancy Favor Box.  Isn't the edge it makes just the cutest and the best part is the negative it leaves behind could be used on a card or scrapbook page.  I love when dies have dual purposes.  On the front is a square I made using the new Scallop Trim Border and Corner Punches.  It takes a little practice, but it's great how they work together.  The stamp set is the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set available in the Occasions Mini catalog and now through the end of Feb if you purchase one of these stamp sets $2 will be donated to the American Red Cross for the Haiti Relief Fund.  Colors used here are Almost Amethyst and Elegant Eggplant.

I'll leave you with some pictures from last weekend's stamp camp.

And of course Sock Monkey made his appearance as well.
Blessings,
Renee
