Catching Up

It's Wednesday and the holiday weekend is coming.  Yay!  We have our pool open and hubby is going to start heating it tonight.  We have an outdoor woodstove that heats our pool and due to the major storm that came through a few weeks ago we've got lots of wood so we can heat the pool to a comfortable temp.  I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend.  How about you?

I thought today I'd post several projects and sort of catch up on things.  I've been stamping, just not posting like I should.  I hope you enjoy these projects and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me at ibecakes@airadv.net since I won't be posting details on each one.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy!

Blessings,
Renee

PS  Please feel free to leave a comment or two.  I would love to hear from you.

Catty Case

When we demonstrators get our first peak at the new catalog and before we can actually order anything other than sneak peaks, I like to take the catalog and case some of the examples with what I have and that is what I did with this card.  If you already have your catalog, it's from page 106.  Not exactly like it, but very similar.  I've had the Ornate Blossom stamp since it came out last year and I hate to admit it, but it hasn't seen much ink.  I love how it works with the Fabulous Florets stamp set from the Beyond the Garden product suite.  The colors used are Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy.  I've always loved yellow and blue together.  The card size is 3" x 6" and fits in a regular bill paying type envy.

Here is another one with the same layout.

I got the card all done and realized I had a red smudge.  I hate when that happens! :(  Never fear make an embellishment to cover it up.  In the end I thought it looked like I had planned it that way and was a nice way to embellish the inside. :)  This card went to my sweet aunt who lives in California and she doesn't go on the computer so she'll never know. ;)

Renee

4th of July Banner

Wow I can't believe I haven't posted since Sunday.  This week has been something else.  On Monday our toilet, sinks, tub started to make gurggling noises which could only mean one thing, the septic tank was full and sure enough.  Water was seeping in the basement because one of the pipes was plugged.  Not a fun thing, but we got it taken care of, had it pumped and $160 later we were good to go.  Then Tuesday night just as Frank was getting home from work we lost power.  There had been a little wind, but nothing bad.  We were without power until 1:45 am Wednesday morning.  So by this time I'm thinking I can hardly wait to see what Wednesday would bring.  Well never fear, with Wednesday brought torrential rain storms and a flooded basement and yes even into my office/stamp room.  We have never had so much trouble with water in the basement in all of the 25 years we've lived here.  We had heavy rains last night, but it didn't make it into my stamp room, thank goodness.  Things are drying out rather nicely today and we are looking to a sunny weekend or so the weatherman is telling us.  So that was my week.  How was yours?

I just realized this afternoon that I hadn't posted all week.  How time flies when you are having fun eh?  Well I made this banner last week and was going to wait until the 4th to share it with you, but thought it might be best to share it ahead of time in case you  are a demo and wanted to case it.

I used the new Pennant die that will be available on July 1 to make this fun banner.  If you remember I made this banner HERE using this same stand.  I have good news for you though if you like these banners.  I will be offering classes soon to make banners and it will include a stand as well.  Look for more details soon.

Lastly, I have a fresh batch of the new 20011/2012 Idea Book and Catalog on hand so if you'd like to get your copy please feel free to contact me.  If you pre-ordered and would like to pick yours up please contact  me to make arrangements to do so.

Thanks for stopping by.

Renee

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Here is the card I'll be giving my dad today and yes my dad is a tie wearing kind of dad.  He's the best daddy a girl could ask for and he means the world to me.  I love you daddy!  Happy Father's Day!

This is a picture of me and my sister Carin with our daddy in 1965.

Great News!

Good Saturday morning to you!  Sorry I didn't get to post while I was away, but I have great news.  Hubby's scans came back negative.  No signs of cancer anywhere.  We are still waiting for the final blood tests next week, but are believing they will be negative too. He's back on his meds and went to work today so all is good and we are so thankful to answered prayer.

Here is another embedded/embossed card.  These are so neat because they make it look like it's all one piece of cardstock.  Just glue on your circles and run through the Square Lattice embossing folder and wa-la.  Neat huh?  Don't have this embossing folder?  You can order it from my stampin' store or directly through me.  The words are from the set Word Play.

Have a great Saturday!
Blessings,
Renee

Love is Like a Butterfly

I've been wanting to try this double embossing technique for sometime now and finally got around to it.  If you are a customer and would like to know how, contact me to book a workshop and I'll show you and your friends how it's done.

I've got a busy day ahead and then we travel to Detroit for 3 days while Frank has his thyroid cancer scans and check up.  We are praying and pretty sure all will check out ok, but it's always a little nerve wracking until it's over.  I will try to have posts while I'm gone if I have time to get them ready to go.  If not I will see you on Saturday.

Blessings,
Renee

Birdhouse Case

This birdhouse case came from a fellow demo and you can see her video on how to make this along with a pattern HERE.  Now that I look at hers again I realized I forgot to add the scallop circle around the opening.  Oops!  It was a fun card to make.  I have tired to discipline myself that if I'm going to surf the web for ideas, then I need to take the time right then and there and make something.  Give it a try!  You'll be surprised how accomplished you feel.

We have a graduation party to go to today at the neighbors and besides money (which is what they really want) I'm giving this fine young lady this little notebook that I made.
Well have a great Saturday!
Blessings,
Renee

Stampin'Up! Bonnet

Last night we had quite the storm go through our area and many are feeling truly thankful that no one was killed in this storm.  Makes one really feel for the areas that have had complete devastation and be very thankful that we were spared.

Now onto why you stopped by.  I had found this cute bonnet idea on a blog that I follow here and knew I had to make one myself.  I've seen so many of these, but Laurie's just really struck me when I saw the black and white.  No decision on what color to make.

Isn't it just the cutest thing evah?  What's it made of you ask?  I knew you would so that is why I'm going to share.  It's a Stampin' Store container.  One that our brads, eyelets, buttons, etc come in.  And if you don't have any empty ones you can actually purchase them, 6 containers for $3.95 from the catalog.  Wouldn't these make a cute little treat or thank you filled with candy?  I think these will probably go to my hostesses.  Then of course I had to make another.  Here's another one done in the new Pool Party In Color along with some of the new Chocolate Chip scallop ribbon available on July 1.
Blessings,
Renee

I am so bad

I thought I had posted yesterday and just went and looked and I didn't.  My bad!  So I guess I owe you 2 cards today.  First the one I thought I posted yesterday.
This card uses some new DSP that will be in the new catalog come July 1st.  The words are from the set Word Play in the current catalog and the little butterflies are made using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die.  Colors are Mellon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black.

Here's another sneak peak for you.

This is a new stamp set and border punch available on July 1st as well.  The color you ask?  It's one of the 5 new In Colors called Pool Party.  Sort of reminds me of the long ago  retired Cool Caribbean.

And just because I like you so well, here's a little notebook I made the other day.  I just covered a scratch pad I had laying around.

I used the Baby Wipe technique and the Fabulous Florets stamp set.  The background was made using the Strength and Hope set.  All these are available in the Summer Mini Catalog.  Colors used were Pink Pirouette and Concord Crush along with Old Olive and Certainly Celery.

Hope I made up for my lacking of posting yesterday.
Blessings,
Renee

New In Colors

Sorry I've been absent for a few days.  So much going on....graduation cakes to bake and decorate, family birthdays, taking care of my elderly aunt and uncle.  Hasn't been a lot of time for stamping and that makes me sad.  My uncle couldn't have his surgery today so I am actually home today.  Yay and I just did a little stamping and can't wait to share, but first I thought I'd share this.
No wonder I can't get to posting on my blog.  LOL!!!

As demos we've been given the sneak peaks of the new In Colors and of course a chance to order.  One of the great benefits of being a demo.  My order came on Friday and I did a little stamping on Saturday and now a little this morning so I just have to share.
Aren't they beautiful?  Of course they are much prettier and more vibrant in person.  I even took the markers, Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party and colored some Very Vanilla Seam Binding to match.  Cool huh?  Did you know you could do that?  Very easy and it dries so quickly.  I had one of them big binder clips laying on my desk and decided to give it a makeover.  The size is a 2" and I purchased them from Office Depot.

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peak.
Blessings,
Renee
