Flower Shop Made Easy

When I got my Flower Shop stamp set and the coordinating Pansy Punch I didn't realize there would be a little more to lining this set up to punch it out, but I solved my problem quickly and here is how.

I figured out which petal needed to be on the bottom so I could punch it out.  I then marked all the flowers at that petal.  I now know that when I mount my stamp on a clear block that that petal needs to go on the bottom or the part closest to me.  I can then stamp and my punch will line up perfectly.  I figured this out all by myself, but I'm sure others have as well.  This stamp set is really a nice set and was one of the first things I bought.

Now to share with you a card I made awhile back.  Frank's nephew and his wife recently had a baby and this is the card we gave them with the gift we got them.  Owls for baby things are all the big rage right now and I know she was doing the nursery in owls so I chose to pull out an old SAB set and use the owl in that set to make this card.  I used new In Colors---Cantaloupe Crisp, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.  I used the Adorning Accents Edgelit on the Coastal Cabana and the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder for the background.
Well thanks for stopping by and hopefully I'll be back here again tomorrow.
Blessings,
Renee

What a Weekend!

I had a pretty full few days.  Well actually from Thursday-Saturday and then by Sunday I wasn't feeling well.  I know I pushed myself quite a bit, but when it's your job, you do what you have to do.  Let's just say by Sunday my fibromyalgia was really flared up and I spent the day on the couch.  Still not feeling the best today so laying kind of low today.  Fibromyalgia can really suck sometimes, especially with all the humidity we are experiencing right now.  The pool is open, but not clean enough to swim in yet so I know that will help.

Anyway enough of my whinning.  I really don't like to do that, but fibromyalgia is such a silent thing to others.  No one can usually tell you are suffering unless you tell them and sometimes it just helps to be honest instead of just pretending you are fine.  I just keep telling myself this too shall pass.  I have good days and bad days, it's just tough when the bad day leads into days.

Again onto more positive things.  I've got a few things to share with you that I did several weeks ago and thought today would be the day to share.  So here goes................

These were some graduation cards that I made for some parties we were invited to.  Even though those words are retired now, they will still remain in my collection.

Here are the gifts we gave out at church to all the fathers.

I found this idea on Pinterest.  They are made with rolls of Rolos.  I wrapped them with Real Red cardstock using Sticky Strip.  I bought some nylon string in the hardware section at WallyWorld.  I printed the words with my printer and punched out along with the Scallop Circle Punch for the back layer.  And then just for fun I stamped a smiley face on them.

Lastly here are the cakes I did this past weekend.

Well thanks for stopping by and here's to a less stressful weekend.

Renee

It's in the Bag!

I took some time this afternoon (since I ran out of flour and couldn't bake anymore until Lindsay brings me home some) to work on a project that I had in mind after watching a Stampin'Up! video.

I absolutely love the new stamp set Flower Shop and it's matching punch.  The words are from a new hostess set.  I used some of the Simply Pressed Clay to make the flowers and then I smushed them into my Pool Party ink pad.  Now my Pool Party pad is one of the old linen pads so I didn't get complete coverage like I did with the new foam pads, but I sort of like this look.  It just highlights the flowers.  The leaves are from the Bird Builder Punch.  I attached the clay flowers using Tombow Mono-multi glue since I've found this to be the best glue for adhering these.  The paper flowers are attached with Dimensionals.  I used the Stripes Background Embossing Folder to give the bachground some texture.  I used the 7/8" Cotton Ribbon for the handles.

Here is the video from Stampin'Up!  Subscribe to their YouTube channel and you can get the updates delivered to your email.

Now I've got another cake to share with you that I made a couple of weeks ago.  This was a fun cake to make because it was a little different and it was for a very good friend's son.

Congrats again Will!

Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds

Price: $7.95
Silicone molds to create your own
embellishments. Use with our Simply Pressed Clay.

* 2 total molds: 1 with 3 flowers, 1 with
3 buttons
* 2-1/4" diameter; 3/8" high
I like to make them just white and let them dry and then when I want to use one I can make it any color I need.  That is what I did with this card.

I sort of smushed it into my Strawberry Slush ink pad until it was covered and let it dry for a few minutes.  I then attached it to my card using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  Then when it was stuck pretty good and the glue had dried some. I used a tiny paint brush and covered it with Crystal Effects to make it shine.
The stamp set used is Wildflower Meadow and the matching embossing folder.  If you buy this in a bundle you save 15%  132735 Wood Mount Bundle $21.95 or 132985 Clear Mount Bundle $18.50.  The words are from the Label Love stamp set and I used the matching punch to punch it out.  You can buy this set along with the punch in a bundle at a 15% discount as well. 132723 Wood Mount Bundle $34.75 or 132722 Clear Mount Bundle $28.75.

You can purchase any of these products by visiting my website www.reneeond.stampinup.net and clicking on the SHOP NOW button.

As one last thing I thought I'd share is a couple of my recent cakes I've made.

Congratulations to all the recent graduates.

Last Night's Make & Takes

Last night was my first workshop since the new 2013-2014 Stampin'Up! catalog made it's debut and we had such a good time.  I always have fun showing the ladies new stuff and last night was no exception.  These are the make and takes from the workshop.

This first card here uses a couple of sets.  They are Flower Shop and Label Love.  And you want to know the best thing?  Both of these stamped images have a matching punch.  That means no cutting out by hand.  I also used some of the new 3/4" Chevron ribbon. The colors used here are Calypso Coral and the new In Color Baked Brown Sugar.

This card was inspired by a card made by demonstrator Angie Juda.  I added the new 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim to mine.  This trim is so pretty and comes in all 5 of the new In Colors.  I've only purchased a couple colors, but the rest are on my wish list.  The stamp set is Chalk Talk and the embossed background is Beautifully Baroque embossing folder.  Oh and the color is Coastal Cabana.

And last, but not least I thought I'd show you my very handsome assistant.  Isn't he adorable?  I am so lucky that he actually asks to go with me to do workshops.  He's a big help handing out supplies and helping the ladies and it's nice for us to have that time together.  Thanks honey for helping.

Well I've spent some time editing photos tonight so that I can get some blog posts done for the coming week so stay tuned.

Blessings,
Renee
