Lots of Things

Happy New Year everyone!!!  2010!  Didn't we all think we'd be driving space cars by the year 2010?  What happened with that?  And to think I still drive a car with a cassette player in it and on the Today Show this morning they said cassettes are now officially considered obsolete.  Say it isn't so!  I have so much good music on cassette.  And yes I am referring to the 80's and real music. *grin*

I've got lots of things going on in my stampin' head these days and that's what I want to share with you.  I know I said I'd share yesterday, but well I had a family matter that had to be attend to so I didn't have the time, but I'm showing you the full class details today.  So hang onto your hats.  This class is going to be so much fun.  How do I know that?  Because I had so much fun making the projects myself.  So without further ado.............

These are the three projects we will be making on Saturday, January 30.  Aren't they just too cute for words?

This is a little matchbox dresser as they call it in the SU world.  I used some of the new DS Speciality Paper call Sending Love.  What makes it a speciality paper you ask?  The fact the it has glitter on one side of each design.  Need I say more?   It is super awesome paper.  And the matchboxes of course were made with the Big Shot Matchbox die.  Wouldn't this make a nice gift filled with some goodies for someone?

Now this is what is called an Easel Card.  So simple to make, yet very different.  I've used the new 2 Step Bird Punch, which will be available on Jan 5 in the Occasions Mini catalog.  Don't have yours yet.  Please contact me, since there were a few delays in mailing from the printers.
And this is the cute little bulletin board which has lots of fun accessories on it.  Jumbo Eyelts, Sweet Pea Stitched Felt from the Occasions Mini catalog and I used that cute 2 Step Bird Punch again along with the SU exclusive Jr. Type Big Shot dies for the word notes.  The die set was a gift from Santa.  Wasn't that nice of him?
So if you'd like to attend this class, here are all the details:

When:  Saturday, January 30
Where:  Here at my home on Brown Rd.
Time:  11:00 am
Cost: $20.00  If you register and pay by Jan. 10  you will receive $2.00 off.
Last day to register:  January 20.
Includes:  All materials except for adhesive.  Please bring your own Snail, Tombow Multi or any other adhesive you like to use.  If you need me to order you some please let me know ahead of time so I can have it here that day for you. I will also include 1/2 a package of the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt pieces.  So you will have lots to take home for other projects.
I will also provide a light lunch.

I guess that's it for today.  Hope to hear from you soon and please feel free to leave me a comment on what you think of these projects.

And again, Happy New Years Eve!

Random stuff

Sorry it's been a few days since posting. I've had a few things on my mind and quite frankly life has changed so much for me in the last while here and well let's just say change can be hard for me especially when it's a lot of it at one time. Nothing that I'm sure I won't get through, but not enjoyable. So I tried today to get me out of this little funk I seem to be in and came down to my office/stamp room. This first card was created using the Cold and Cuddly set from the Holiday Mini catalog. You can still purchase this set through January 4 so don't miss out on getting it. You can call or email me your order or visit my demonstrator website to place your order. Notice the little heart punch? Well guess what? This little punch will be available on January 5 and will sell for a mere $5.95 and it's a great new designed punch as well as the other 7 punches debuting on the 5th. I can't wait to share them with you.
This card is using a Sale-a-bration freebie. It's called Good Neighbors and you can only get it free by placing a $50 order during Jan-March. This set will not only be in our good old standard wood mounted, but it will also be available in clear mount. I bought it in clear mount so I could show how the new clear mount stamps come, but for me the jury is still out on the mounting and unmounting clear stamp option. I know there are a lot out there that are thrilled with this option and I'm glad to be able to have it to offer to my customers, but I'm just not sure I like the fact of not wood mounting. So I guess we are back to where this post originated..........change. *wink* Whichever you prefer, SU stamps are always the best.
The background is a new Big Shot embossing folder and the gorgeous edge is a new punch as well or should I say punches? The corners are a new corner punch called Scalloped Trim corner and the sides are done with the new Scallop Trim Border punch that you can get for free during SAB as well. And the little chocolate flower brad? New too in the Occasions Mini.
As you can see there is so much new coming on January 5 and Jan-March are great months to host a SU workshop. I still have many good dates available so call me to book yours.
Didn't receive your Occasions Mini or SAB Mini catalogs? Call me and I'll see that you get one. If you are normally on my mailing list, they should be arriving in your mailbox any day now.
I've got something super cute to show you tomorrow and an announcement about a class to make it, so stay tuned.
Blessings,
Renee

Here's our Christmas card this year. I didn't send out too many so I thought I'd post it here and if you didn't get one personally, please accept this as our greeting to you. The time and energy just got away from me this year. It's been a different year indeed and I'm trying to just accept it as such. I'm the "it has to be perfect" kind of Christmas person and this year.........well let's just say I've let some of that go. Life is too short to worry about everything being perfect. We are thankful for so many things this year. Just to name a few...... to be back into our house, we are thankful that Frank is healthy and won't have to see the doctor for another 3 months yet, thankful that we were all spared in our house fire and most of all we are thankful that the Lord loves us and that He will take care of us no matter what. Maybe not always in the way we would choose, but we know His ways are always best. May we wish you and yours a very Blessed Christmas and may we all keep forefront in our hearts what the season is all about, the celebration of Jesus' birth so that He could give us life everlasting, the greatest gift ever.

Merry Christmas!

Sweet Treats

Just thought I'd share today a few of the things that have kept me so busy lately. Unfortunately it's not stamping, but the income it brings in sure helps this time of year. This was just a small wedding cake and it included a sheet cake as well. I was probably a little partial since this was our wedding colors as well. Thanks for stopping.
Blessings,
Renee

Quick gift card holder

I had to get a Stampin'Up! gift certificate in the mail yesterday morning and I always like to do something cute with them instead of just putting the certificate in an envelope. I made this real quick using Sahara Sand card stock and some of the Holiday Lounge DSP and the border punch I used will be available in the new Occasions Mini Catalog debuting Jan.5. Isn't it just the cutest? I used a small piece of Velcro to keep the holder closed. That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Busy, busy, busy...............

I love this time of year, but sometimes the business just, well gets to be too much. Sorry I haven't posted in several days again. So much going on as I'm sure you can all relate. I had a workshop last week and the hostess reminded me today that I hadn't posted the pics from her party that I'd promised. Thanks for the reminder Vicki or was it the guilt trip? LOL Anyhow here is Jim, Vicki's uncle. He is officially my first male to attend one of my parties and be a participant. You did a great job Jim.
And here is the whole group and their flip fold albums. They all had a great time or at least they said they did. *wink*
Want to learn to make the flip fold album? I would love to show you how. Call me and we'll set up a date for your party.
Until next time.....................

Card Class

Do you want to see what you missed by not attending my card class? Well regardless I'm going to show you. LOL These cards were fairly simple to make and my class attendees (only 2, sniff, sniff) enjoyed them.
This first one was made using the hostess set Patterned Pines. This set is located in the Holiday Mini Catalog and is only available as a hostess choice until January 4. To qualify for this set you only need $150 in sales before tax and shipping. The colors used were Ruby Red and Bermuda Bay. The Peace on Earth is from Four the Holidays set in the Holiday Mini as well and sells for only $13.95.

We made this card using the Movers and Shapers Big Shot die. This die cuts and scores your card for you. Yes including the cute little window. And did I mention you can get other shapes to use in this die? It comes with the Curly Label and there are two other sets of 4 you can purchase separately. Oh and the set used was Winter Post. One of my most favorite ever stamp sets.

And last, but not least this card was made using our awesome Big Shot and dies as well. The Top Note and Lattice dies. Oh how I love my Big Shot. The ornament is from the Delightful Decorations stamp set and was stamped in Encore Gold and embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing powder. It's hard to tell in the photo, but it's very glitzy. This set along with the DSP that was used are both in the Holiday Mini. Not to mention we used the Ornament punch to punch the ornament out. No hand cutting. How easy is that?
Well I hope you enjoyed these cards today and remember it's not too late to order any of these items. You can order direct from me or through my SU website. When you visit my website don't' forget to view the awesome 12 day sale going on now for select Big Shot dies and SU vinyl. SU has just added 18 exclusive SU colors to our Decor bulk vinyl.
As always please feel free to contact me with any questions on anything you've viewed here.
Have a blessed day!

Late Post Today

I've had a busy day of cleaning, laundry, fire insurance stuff, etc. and I'm a little late in getting a post up, but I do have a couple of things to share with you. Not really stamping, but still using Stampin'Up! supplies. So for those of you who say you don't stamp or stamp much Stampin'Up! has some great things that don't even involve stamping at all.
Is this picture not the cutest? Every time I look at it I get teary eyed because it's so sweet. These are twins Skylar and Sadie and their mom and dad are friends of ours. They will be 2 in January and they are just the cutest little dollies you ever saw. I just knew this one belonged in a frame and I mounted it on a piece of Soft Suede card stock and then added some chocolate stripped grosgrain ribbon and a chocolate corduroy brad.
This next picture is of my DD Brooke's laptop. As many of you know she is a big turtle fan so why not have a turtle on her laptop. T is for turtle and Toshiba I guess. LOL This is one of SU's awesome Decor Elements. These things are so easy to apply, you would not believe it. You really need to order one and see. What are you waiting for? You can order direct through me or on my Stampin'Up! website
Well I hope you enjoyed these ideas. Maybe I was late in posting because of the turtle? LOL
Blessings,
Renee

Dasher, Dasher

Isn't this just the cutest? I've wanted to do something with this adorable Decor Element the minute I got it, but wasn't quite sure what since it is pretty good size. I had looked for a glass picture frame, but nothing I really liked in that department without spending a fortune so when I saw the idea that fellow demonstrator Janet Wakeland had posted to our faith based demonstrator group, I knew instantly that was it. And besides I had the wreath stand to boot and I had just taken down my fall wreath and really didn't have a Christmas wreath to replace it with (that fire thing again) So this worked out fantabulous, if I do say so myself. I bought a artist canvas at Walmart, painted it with some white acrylic paint and added some dry brush brown colors to make it look aged. Applied the Dasher Decor Element (Level 2 hostess item) and some rhinestone brads in the snowflakes and a red rhinestone brad for the nose. The the glitter on the bottom (sprinkled on while paint was wet) and then outlined with the Monomulti adhesive a few of the swirls and added glitter there as well. I still thought it needed something else and so did Brooke when she looked at it. She said, "mom it needs some word." So taking her artistic thought along with mine I added the NOEL from the Decor Elements Holiday Mix in the Holiday Mini Catalog. Tied Chocolate Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (did I say that this ribbon is wonderful an so soft?) and the added the Chocolate corduroy buttons to attach the ribbon. Oh and Frank drilled the holes in the top of the canvas for me. I'm just lovin' it. It actually looks like it could have been bought in a high end store. IMO of course. Thanks for stopping by and thanks to Jan for the idea.

Blessings,
Renee

As Requested............

I've had several of you want to know where I found the pattern and I traced back through my cyber steps and here is the link to the Gift Card Stocking. If you make one I'd love to see what you come up with. Leave me a comment and a link to your post.
Here are a couple of views of the Thoughts and Prayers Decor Element that I put up in our living room. Well actually me, my 2 girls and my sister. Can't have too many opinions now can we? *grin* Sorry about the lighting being so bad. It's a very dreay day here in mid-Michigan.

A Hostess Gift

Here is a hostess gift I made for my friend Joni's party last week. Lots of o0h's and aah's from everyone. I used the cute set available in the Holiday Mini Cold and Cuddly. This set is just too cute and has so many possibilities. I found some cork board in my stash as I was unpacking boxes last week and thought it would be great to make a cute little bulletin board. What do you think? Would you like one? Book a Stampin'Up! party with me and I'll make you one too! Want to order this set? You better hurry while it's available only until January 4.
Hope you all had a great after Turkey Day day!

Home is Built of Love and Dreams

Good evening. I just had to do a quick post tonight to show you what I put up tonight. Isn't it beautiful? I was going through stuff in my stamp room trying to put stuff away and I came across this and knew instantly that it had to go up. After our fire and finally getting back into our house I find this saying so appropriate. It was so easy to put up. I love Stampin'Up's decor elements. I have the Thought and Prayers Tree coming and will be putting that in our living room. Can't wait to show you that. If you'd like more info on our decor elements please contact me or visit my website Until next time................happy stamping!

As Promised

I know I told you on Sunday that I'd get back to posting this week and here it is Wednesday and I haven't. I hope you all understand. Getting our lives back to some semi normal is taking some time, but we are so thankful to finally be back into our home. I just work on a little more each day and I know I'll get it done eventually.

Now onto the stamping.
It's a beautiful November day here in Mid-Michigan so we're not thinking of snow yet, but it will come soon enough. This card was fun to make although it was made in a couple different attempts. Seems I find it hard to finish something without getting distracted these days. I used the adorable set The More the Merrier. This set is a level 3 hostess set and you could earn this set for FREE with a qualifying Stampin'Up! workshop. So why not call me today and we'll get yours booked? Even better call me to book and this cute little card can be the Make and Take at your party. Wouldn't that be fun? And I bet your friends would have a great time making it as well. So what are you waiting for?
Stampin' Hugs!

Back Home-----Finally!!!!!

Well we are finally back home. It's been a long 6 1/2 months, but we spent our first night on Tuesday, amongst boxes and all. The only thing I cared about was having my bed to sleep in. We have been through quite a bit as those of you who follow my blog know, but I'm happy to say we are better people because of it and we love the Lord even more. He has been good in spite of all that has happened. The fire, Frank's cancer, pickup truck motor going up, having to put our beloved 14 yr. old cat to sleep and the daily struggles of taking care of insurance issues and making decisions on top of not being able to live in our home. It's been a struggle as I said, but I'm so thankful for all the Lord has brought us through and we couldn't have gotten through it without Him. God is good, all the time. We also appreciate all our family and friends for their support, prayers and helping hands. We are blessed much more than we deserve.
I will have a few stamping things to show you this week, but for now I'll just show you a very small sampling of what our house has been looking like the last week.
We have a total of 297 boxes delivered back to us and that doesn't include furniture, electronics, appliances or clothing. We does one get so much stuff. I swear my girls have saved everything since the minute they were born. They're my little hoarders. I will share pics of the house too as it gets a little more presentable.
I'm now off to do a Stampin'Up! workshop for the Pigeon Women's Club. Wish me luck. I could really use a boost to my business right now.
Thanks again for all your support and prayers. Many blessings and hugs to you all.

Enjoy Every Bite

Isn't this card too cute? As I said yesterday, this set made me buy my first ever Halloween set. I'm not really a Halloween person, but this set was just too cute to pass up. Used the scalloped square Big Shot die on here as well. I get a thrill every time I cut something with the Big Shot.
Well more things to do with the house and getting moved back in. I can't wait to share some pics with you all and for those who live here I can't wait for you to come and visit. It's been a long six months, but I'm so glad we are coming to the end.
Have a blessed day!

I'm So Happy!

As you know I haven't been able to post for quite some time and I've been extremely frustrated with the fact. I also had some things to send to my insurance adjuster on our fire loss and wasn't able to send those either so today I came to my sister's and tried doing my stuff with my laptop and her Internet connection. Praise God! I was able to do both. So it's not my computer, but it is my mom's Internet connection. Sorry mom, we'll get it fixed asap, I promise.
So thank you one and all for your patience and understanding. And just to show you I really appreciate it here is a thank you card I've been wanting to show you.
Love the Crush Curry color and the new Autumn stamp set. Fall is my favorite time of the year and I can't wait to move back into our house in the next couple of weeks and put my fall stuff out. So until my next post................................
Happy Stamping!

Still Having Problems

Hi friends, just wanted to let you know I'm still having problems uploading anything to blogger. I've got things to show you, but can't get them uploaded. If anyone has any suggestions besides deleting cookies please let me know. I'm about at my wits end. And as some of you know I don't have a lot of wits to begin with. LOL I'm thinking this has something to do with my mom's internet connection because I'm not only having trouble on my laptop, but her desktop computer as well, but I just can't get it to work no matter what I try. Thanks for your patience and understanding. We should be moving back home in a week or two. Yeah! I'm so ready to be home. It's been almost 6 months and I thought I wouldn't make it the 3 months which was the original move back in date. The Lord has given me greater strength than I thought possible the last 6 months and I know He's used you my friends as well with your prayers and support of me and my family. Thank you so much.

Hugs to you all,
Renee

So Sorry

Hello my blog readers. First let me say that no I have not fallen off the face of the earth and yes I still am a Stampin'Up! demonstrator. So much has been going on in the last month that I cannot begin to tell you. We are getting so close to being back in our house, but there have been a few hold ups. Mainly the insurance company not issuing the money and our plumber and electrician will not come back until they get some money. Which I don't blame them in the least, but I want to get this wrapped up and quick like. So lots of daily phone calls and getting the run around, but today I was told that the adjuster for our claim issued all the money in full. He better be telling me the truth!!! Frank returned to work after his surgeries and radiation treatments and then his pickup motor blew up and we had to search to find him another pickup. Pickups are apparently scarce after the cash for clunkers buyout so for 3 weeks that was our focus as well as getting the upstairs bathroom remodeled. The remodel was long overdue and we figured while the fire restoration was going on we might as well get that taken care of as well. Then just as things seem to be better we had to put our Kittie cat Maizy Daisy to sleep. What an emotional thing. She was living with my sister since the fire along with our our other two fur babies and our two girls. Maizy was 14 and had lived a good long full life, but it was so hard to make the decision to put her down, but yet it would have been harder to see her suffer.

So please forgive me for not posting and I promise I'm gonna come back and inspire you with some stamping. I've got a beautiful stamp room in progress and it won't be long before I'll be settled back into my stamping. Please hang in there with me.

Hugs!

New Products

I had a little thank you gift to make and of course I wanted to use some of my new stuff I got this week so I reached for the new Autumn Meadows DSP and the corduroy chocolate chip buttons and also some of the Bermuda Bay ribbon. I know it's hard to see, but it's around the edge of this little canvas that I picked up at the M store. Used the Sizzix Daisies #2 die for the flower and stamped the word friends in black Stazon. All products of course are Stampin'Up!
Hope you're having a good weekend.

EEK You're Sweet!

I've been trying to get something posted all week, but things with the house have kept me pretty busy. Much progress is being made and it won't be long now. Maybe another month or so and I am so ready to be home. If you want to see some of the pictures you can view my photos on Facebook. Just search for my name Renee Romain Ondrajka and you can see my photos even if we aren't friends on Facebook.

Ok, so getting to the project at hand. Here you go................ Sorry the colors aren't very good. It really is much brighter in person.

I just love these new little Sweet Treat Cups (116802 $2.95 for 12) from Stampini'Up! I think the possibilities are endless. You can fill these cups with almost anything. Well anything small enough to fit. *grin* And to top it all off there is an awesome stamp set called Sweet Centers (116521 $29.95) that they work perfectly with. That's what I've used here. Colors used Dusty Durango, Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery.
And so the recipient wouldn't have to rip it apart to get at the candy this is how I put mine together. Hope you enjoyed it. I will be back tomorrow with another cute Sweet Treat Cup idea.
Blessings,
Renee

Postie Note Tutorial

I promised to be back today with this mini tutorial and here I am. I know a lot of you may think this is so remedial, but since I feel like I'm trying to get my business back on track, why not start out at the beginning with the basics. I made postie note covers when I first started over 9 yrs. ago. Of course they've come a long way. We now can find cool posties and we have so many more punches and embellishments than we had back then. So I'm calling this an updated postie note idea. *wink* I really hope you like it. So try it and go back to the basics.
I did my score lines at these measurements because I used about 1/4 of the pad of notes. It was a rather think pad to begin with. You could just adjust these to however many notes you were using.
Here are all the pieces I used.
And the finished project.
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
Hugs!

My Pretty Laptop

Don't you just love my laptop? I did this using Stampin'Up!'s Definitely Decorative Decor Elements. This is the Upsy Daisies. I used the Rose Red (117921 $9.95) and also the Pretty in Pink (117922 $9.95) and layered them slightly off to give the shadow effect. I will admit it was a little time consuming because I'm such a perfectionist, but they are really easy to apply. Ok and maybe working at my mom's coffee table without good lighting probably wasn't the best either. LOL I actually have some of the daisies left to use on another project. My laptop is a little smaller than some out there so I didn't use them all.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by. I've had a few people unsubscribe from my blog lately and for that I feel bad. I know that I've shared a lot of what has been going on with me and my family personally, but I really intend for this blog to be about my Stampin'Up! stamping. Hang in there with me and I promise I'll be sharing lots of that in the coming weeks and months. I so appreciate all of you.
Blessings,
Renee

No Stamping, but Crafty None the Less

This is one of the awesome birdhouses my dad has been making. He loves his woodworking and it's a good thing. He's also just recently made me a buffet for our dining room. Gotta have some place to put all those dishes I love to collect. *grin* The only thing is that he doesn't paint. He hates to paint so I'll be doing that part. Maybe I'll be sharing that later this week. My daddy is the best. He's always so willing to do so much for so many. Lots to accomplish this week. Have to keep those painters at the house moving and the contractor as well. I hate this part, but in the end it will be so worth it.
Have a great day!

It's a Colorful Day!

What do I mean by the title? Well my girls and I are going to be leaving shortly to make the finalization's on our paint colors for the house. That means drywall is up and things are moving along a little faster now. The kitchen cabinets are here as is the flooring for the kitchen, dining room, bathroom and entryway. I'm getting excited and so looking forward to the day we get to move back home. It's been 4 1/2 months now and it will probably be another month, but the Lord has taught us so much and He has truly blessed us beyond measure. I've always said that when the Lord takes something good away from you He has something even better in store, but now I truly can say I'm living that. We are going to have a nicer house than we had before and the costly repairs that come with a house as old as ours (over 100 yrs.) were sure to be right around the corner, but the Lord has met that need and our house should take us well into our old age. Not necessarily the way that I would have planned for, but I know that God always knows what's best and has our best interest at heart even when it doesn't fell like it. I am so thankful for His goodness and love.

Speaking of thankful. We are thankful that Frank was able to return to work this past Monday and is feeling and doing fine. The doctor truly felt that the iodine radiation treatment would take care of the small spot of cancer in his neck area that was left.

And last, but not least I have a couple of cards I made last week while we were in Detroit during Frank's treatments. These are made using the new hostess set The More the Merrier. All items used are Stampin'Up! of course. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Like to earn this great set which is on page 17 of the New 2009/2010 Idea Book and Catalog? Contact me and we'll set a date for your workshop. Fall is a great time for a workshop.

Blessings,
Renee

Something New----Finally!

Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted since Aug 11. Sorry for my absence. As most of you know we've had a lot going on in our lives and if you are a new blog reader you can go back and read it from around the 21st of April til now. I won't bore my faithful readers who know all the ugly details of my life as of late. I will tell you that as I type this Frank and I are in the Detroit area and he is undergoing some tests and treatment for thyroid cancer. He's doing fine and we are praying for a full recovery. Of course coming down here to stay for 4 days I had to bring a little stamping stuff and actually got the chance to stamp last night. So without further delay here is what I made.

Friends 24/7. I just love this set and it looks so pretty with the In Color Bermuda Bay. I was really happy with how it turned out. I haven't made anything this artistic it awhile now. Hope you like it too.

This isn't anything real fancy, but I wanted to use the new Medallion stamp. I stamped it on Dusty Durango textured cardstock so it probably didn't stamp the best, but I don't think it turned out too bad.
That's it for today unless I get time to stamp later. Frank has to go and have a full body scan at 1:00 pm so I better get ready.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs and Blessings,
Renee
