Home Decor SU Style Blog Hop November 2020

Welcome to my blog and also the Home Decor SU Style November blog hop.  It's been a little bit since I've hopped with Sara and the lovely ladies of this group, but I'm happy to be here this month.  I love to make framed or hangable art for my home and especially at Christmas time.  I usually do a class for a framed piece each year and my customers look forward to it, so that is what I chose for my project this month.

I used a piece of masonite board to make my project on.  I covered the board with a piece of the Poinsettia Place DSP and framed it in with Silver Foil paper cut into 1/4" strips.  I cut the poinsettias using the Poinsettia dies, as well as the rest of the pieces of this project. The word J O Y was cut using the Playful Alphabet dies.  I cut four sets of them and stacked the letters together using the Multipurpose Glue, to give them more dimension.  I used the adhesives listed below, but when I attached the flowers and leave I did use hot glue as I want this to hold up well for years to come since the centers of the flowers are a bit heavier.

I apologize for the bad lighting.  I tried to take it in the evening and thought today might be better, but alas in Michigan you get what you get and I don't have any fancy lighting for taking pictures.

Here is an up close shot of the poinsettias.  This stamp set and die bundle is so, so pretty and something I've been waiting for Stampin'Up! to come out with for years.

You can find all the items I used on the project in the list below.  You can also follow the hop from that list below as well.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
Blessings,
Renee

OSAT Blog Hop Glad Tidings We Bring

Wow can you believe it's November already and soon it will be Christmas?  I've got a couple great and simple projects you could create for Christmas in no time at all.  I took my inspiration from the August-December catalog for my projects.  I fell in love with the Merry Moose bundle last year and I was so happy when Stampin'Up! decided to bring it back for this year's holiday catalog.  Stampin'Up! made a banner using this set and I just knew I had to make one too.  I apologize in advance for the color on the banner, but there was no sun when I took pics of my projects and none in the forecast.  Rest assured I used Real Red on this project.  I was looking for a background to shoot my photo and decided my buffalo plaid fluffy shawl would do the trick.  I think for the most part the directions should be easy just by looking at it, but if not, please feel free to post a comment. I did use the Stamperatus to stamp the buffalo check.  That way I could stamp over it if I didn't get a good image the first time.   I really like how this project came out.  The complete list of products can be found below.

I then decided to use the extra piece of buffalo plaid cardstock I had stamped on my card.  I cut it out using the Stitched So Sweetly largest die.  The layers of my card are from the bottom up are Thick Whisper White cardstock, a piece of the Black Glimmer paper in the holiday catalog and then another piece of Whisper White.  I used the next to smallest die from the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut my words out that I stamped in Real Red from Itty Bitty Christmas.  The moose was punched out of Whisper White.  I added some Elegant Faceted Gems and a bit of black Glittered Organdy Ribbon.  The buffalo plaid piece, the moose and the sentiment are all popped up with mini dimensionals.

Well I hope you've enjoyed my projects as much as I've enjoyed making them.  Buffalo plaid is part of my Christmas decor so I thought it worked out well for my projects this month as well.

Blessings,
Renee
