I won! I won!

I won a prize from my Stampin'Up! upline Linda Gutierrez.  Linda lives in California and is my second level upline.  She is such a sweet lady and had a contest in our group on our groups Facebook page and I won!  I won by default because no one else participated, but I say a win is a win and especially when you win a Stampin'Up! stamp set and a Big Shot embossing folder.  Here is a card made with this set and embossing folder.

Here are the other goodies she sent as well.

Isn't this just the neatest card?  I love how she made a shaker frame and yes SU carries the Shaker Frames in the catalog.  You get 36 frames, 6 of each size for $4.95 and we carry the window sheets as well.  Guess what will be going on my next order.  So cute and you can fill them with glitter, beads, confetti, whatever you like.  How fun!

Here is a little post it note holder she sent as well.  Way too cute!  What a handy little thing to carry in your purse.  Thanks so much Linda for everything.

Thanks too to all of you for stopping by.

Renee

Retiring Stamp Class

Before I get into today's post I want to say that my thoughts and prayers are with all those in Oklahoma.  Such an awful thing and so devastating for all those affected and the first responders as well.  May they know the comfort and peace that only God can give at a time like this.  Dear Lord may you wrap your arms around all those who are hurting and please help them through the very difficult days that are ahead.  Please help us to be mindful and thankful for all the things we take for granted.  Amen.

I have a "retiring" stamp class tonight.  We are using mostly all retiring products tonight other than a couple of ink pads.  After making these cards I realized how sorry I am to see these sets retire.  I'm thinking a couple of them may stay in my "keep" stash.  Ok, who am I kidding I think all 5 of them will.  ;)

The first one here uses Circle Circus with retiring colors Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy and Certainly Celery.  The other one uses the stamp Just Thinking and is currently in the Spring catalog, but will not be available after May 31.  The colors used are Riding Hood Red and More Mustard which are both retiring ast well.  Notice the brads in the corner?  Yup, those are going to be gone as well.

This first one uses the set Raining Flowers.  This set has so many nice pieces for making all kinds of flowers and leaves.  The colors are Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Lucky Limeade which are retiring and then I threw in some Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant which are both sticking around.  The words are from the set Word Play which is retiring. :(  That set has so many nice words in it.  I used it as well on the above card with the Thanks a Million.  You really should have this set in your collection.  The other card here is made with the Just Believe stamp set.  This set is also another great set.  I really like the words in this set that say "Somethings have to be believed to be seen."  Such a great set with images and words.  The Word Window Punch is retiring as is the Pretty in Pink ribbon.  The green I used is Gumball Green and is an In Color and will be sticking around for another year.  I did case this card from HEREPlease note that the Word Window punch is not retiring.  Thanks to a good customer for keeping me on my toes.  Thanks Becky Hughey!

Well I hope my ladies enjoy making these tonight and if you couldn't make it to the class tonight you can still order these products from my website and if you order them by May 30 and use hostess code 6AA96VQP when you check out you will get your name in for the Mystery Hostess online party.  You must use the code to be eligible to be in the drawing.

Take care and happy stamping!

Renee

A Cool Find!

When I took my daughter's car to Bay City the other day to have some work done on it, of course I had to make a quick stop at Target and see what they had in the $ spot.  Well not everything is a $, but they still do have quite a bit that is.  I found these giant clothes pins and they were a color pretty close to  Pool Party, maybe a little darker, but they work.  So today I decided I'd do something with them.  I've been a little overwhelmed with my stamp room since the flood and nothing is where it should be so it's been hard for me to create.  Anyway here is what I did.

Doesn't this make a cute photo holder?  This is a picture of three very good friends of mine.  They went on a trip and didn't take me.  :(  No actually I was invited, but it just didn't work for me.

Well I hope you enjoyed this and I'll try and get better about posting.  I know I go in spurts sometimes and I need to try harder to get my posts done.

Blessings,
Renee

How's Everything?

How's everything on this hump day?  Things aren't too bad here other than I just woke up from an extremely bad headache.  It hurt to even keep my eyes open so I gave in and laid down for awhile.  I feel better now, but I hope I'm not awake half the night.  Frank is out on a service call.  For those who don't know he works for John Deere so this time of year you just never know when he'll be around so I decided to head to my stamp room.

I remembered that I hadn't posted today so I thought I'd get a post in before Survivor time.  These first two cards are ones that were inspired by fellow demonstrator Justin Krieger.  I'm sorry I couldn't find the exact post where this was, but thought you might like to peek around his blog.  Justin does some nice work.

I used the Chevron Embossing folder and embossed in 3 colors.... Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit and Pool Party.  I then cut them out and matched them up.  Easy Peasy!  The base of the card is Calypso Coral.  I really like this color combination.  The Happy Birthday words are from the soon to be retiring set Curly Cute.  If you don't have this set, I'm telling you that you really need it.  It's a great word set.  The other words include...Congratulations, Thank You, Season's Greetings and Thinking of You.  I know this one will remain in my collection.

And since you all are being good right now I'll show you another card.  *Ü*

This one I made real quick like using the same stamp set and some of the Epic Day This and That Washi Tape. (131269 $4.95)  This tape will be in the upcoming catalog, but you can actually purchase it now as well.  The colors here are Calypso Coral and the new Smoky Slate that will be in the new catalog.  I thought this was a nice masculine birthday card.

Well ok, it's another 10 minutes until Survivor so I better get my jammies on.  Frank's not home, but I'll watch it anyway and then watch it with him again whenever he gets the chance.  Have a good evening.

Blessings,
Renee

Washi Tape Sneak Peek

I made this card the other day and I've decided I just couldn't wait to share it with you.  This card is so bright and Springy in person, you just would not believe it.  I used some of the new Washi Tape that will be available in the new catalog on May 31st.  This was my first attempt at the herringbone technique and I have to admit it was rather fun.  The flower is from the set Mixed Bunch and punched out using the matching punch.  The leaves are from the Little Leaves Sizzlit.  The words are from the new set that was available in April and will appear in the new catalog as well.  The set is called A Round Array and I used the 7/8" punch to punch it out and layered it on the 1" Circle Punch.

Well that is all for today.  I've been busy doing bookwork and paying bills today so not any time for stamping, but now that my work is done you can guess what is on the agenda for tomorrow.  Take care and thanks for stopping by.

Blessings,
Renee

What a beautiful day!

I think Spring has finally sprung here in Michigan.  It sure has been a long time coming.  I feel like this has been the longest winter ever.  So thankful for the warmer temps and the beautiful sunshine.  It just makes a person feel so much better regardless of how you really feel.

I had some time yesterday to do a little stamping and as is usual for me, I think I made one of the best cards using something that I thought was a mess up.  I have found myself doing this over and over.  I start to take the odds and ends that are on my workspace and don't look at any ideas.  I just sit and start trying to use up what is there.  I had stamped the butterfly on this card and it didn't stamp as good as I would have liked and only part of it came out.  Well instead of throwing it away I decided to do something with it.  What do you think?

This is the Swallowtail stamp from the Spring catalog.  I used the new Gingham Garden DSP that will be in the new 2013/2014 Catalog on May 31.  The color is Melon Mambo.  I used the Banner Greetings hostess stamp set that I mentioned yesterday.  I sanded the stamp a little with our sanding block and boy does that help your stamps, especially the solid ones ink up so nice.  I used Black Stazon ink.  Did you notice the button?  Yes another new item coming the new catalog.  These buttons are so sweet and they are calle Vintage Buttons.  I love that the holes are a little bigger for the 1/8" Taffeta Black ribbon to fit through.  I just loved how this card turned out.  It was my own layout and design and used up something that normally may have been thrown out.\

Now I'll show you the card I was making before this.  It was the reason this first card came about.

This was a total case from my upline and friend Linda.  Linda lives in California, yes my home state.  Didn't know I was a Cali girl did you? Yup, I was born in California.  Linda is so sweet and I really am looking forward to catching up with her at convention this summer in Salt Lake City.  Well here is her video on making this card.

It's really a cute idea that was around back when I first started with Stampin'Up!, but everything old becomes new again.  Linda does a great job of explaining how to make this card.  The card I made is actually going to show up in someones mailbox this week.  Can you guess who it is?  Anyone placing an online order through my website will receive a card.  So keep that in mind.  Hope you enjoy watching the video and again a big thanks to Linda for the video.

Hope you have a blessed Saturday!

It's the Weekend........Yay!!!

It's the weekend!  Are you glad?  Seems like it's been a busy week, but I'm not sure why.  Lots of little things to do, I guess and it added up to lots.  Well this week I held my Pop Up Posie class and we had a great time.  The ladies loved the cards and I was pretty happy with how they turned out.  I cased a couple of them and then one was a knock off from the Spring catalog and the other one was all mine.  So let me get started here and I want to give proper credit where credit is due.  So.............

This first card on the left was cased from HERE although now I see mine is a little different and the one on the right was my own creation.  I used the Tea for Two DSP.  I absolutely love this DSP and it is current available in the Spring catalog so be sure and order yours before May 30.  It really is a pretty paper.

The card on the left is my take on the example in the Spring catalog.  I added an embossed background and an extra layer.  The card on the right was cased from HERE  I used different paper on these.  The DSP is the new Epic Day This and That paper.  I am finding this paper so versatile.  Some of it is masculine while some is more girly.  It's another great DSP that will be available in the new catalog on May 31, but the good news is it can actually be ordered now since it was so popular with our new This and That special we had last month.

If you are interested in this class I have two kits available.  It would include everything you need to make these four cards.  You would just need to supply the ink and your own adhesive.  Please contact me if you are interested.  The price is $20 and includes the Pop Up Posie kit.  You will have lots of the kit left over to use on other projects as well.

Here is an extra bonus card using this kit.  We didn't make this in class, but I wanted to show the ladies another idea for this kit.

I used some more of the Epic Day This and That DSP and the Pop Up Posies kit.  Do you recognize the words on this one?  I'm guessing not. This is part of a new Hostess set coming out in the new catalog called Banner Greetings.  I had earned this for FREE last month and I'm so happy I did.  It's a great set and it's so easy to stamp and cut out real quick like.  I will be sharing some more cards using the other words in this set over the next few days so stay tuned.  This card is going out to a nice couple from our church who took us out to eat for a Sunday treat after church.

Well I guess that's it for now.  Don't forget to check the retiring lists to be sure you get the stamps and accessories you want before they retire.  As always if you need any help please don't hesitate to contact me.  You can place orders 24/7 on my stampin' website www.reneeond.stampinup.net

Blessings,
Renee
