Hey there my stamping friends! I know it's been awhile since my last post. I've had the creeping crud. Thought I would get through the winter without it, but no such luck. Luckily I'm feeling better and I'm excited about hopping today with my friends from the OSAT Blog Hop. You may have just come here by the way of super talented Marisa Gunn, but if you started here you will hit Marisa's on the end.
The theme this month is Spring has Sprung and what better thing to represent Spring than a butterfly. To be honest I hadn't used my butterflies much because they had been on back order around this time last year and then well of course the new catalog came out and the butterflies were shifted to the bottom of my thinlits, but I've pulled them out especially for this hop. I hope you enjoy my projects.
I just had to have some sparkle in my project. I just wish it would photograph better. The butterfly is covered completely with clear Wink of Stella. It is so sparkly in real life.
I wanted to make my 3D project using candy. I'm pretty proud that I came up with this little box all on my own. I will post the measurements tomorrow if you are interested in how I made this. I just did not get time to do that for this post. I put alcohol and a couple drops of re-inker in a Stampin' Spritzer and I spritzed some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper with it. I dried it with the heat gun. I then was able to cut my butterflies out. The center of the box was punched with the Word Window punch and then embossed with the Fluttering embossing folder. The next pic shows the candy a little better. I used miniature peanut butter cups in the box.
I loved the fact that the cups were in yellow and purple foil and that is really where my color combo came from. Did you notice the Gold Washi Tape? You can get this awesome washi tape through the end of March for free by placing a $50 order with Stampin'Up! You get three rolls....one gold, one silver and one dazzling diamonds. This tape is super nice.
Well I hope you've enjoyed my projects as much as I did making them. The next stop on the hop is Martie Hillyer and I'm sure she will have some amazing projects.

What a great tip spritzing glimmer paper with alcohol and ink - the color is beautiful - butterflies sure do say Spring to me - saw a few on my lunch break walk yesterday and got that "oh yeah" it's coming feeling.
