"OSAT Blog Hop - Summer Lovin’"

Hey there my stampin' peeps!  I'm so excited for the hop this month.  I wasn't going to hop this month and to tell you the truth it came up quicker than I realized and with so much going on I didn't know if I could come up with something.  Well the creative bug struck yesterday morning and I was off.  I think I do better under pressure and to be honest I think I do better if I don't look at a lot of ideas.  This was all my own.  Inspiration by ME!  LOL!  You may have gotten here by the way of the super duper talented Melissa Davies.  Melissa always has such awesome projects.  I absolutely love her style.

First up is my card.  I started in so many directions on this one and then finally it clicked.  I wanted to do a wreath using the new Swirly Thinlits and well then that led to an embossed background and well if it was brick then it was probably a house and a house would have a window and then what should I show in the house?  Should I have the inside of the house be white?  Nah that didn't work.  Maybe it should just be black, like it was nighttime?  Nah!  Then it hit me the inside should be a curtain over the window.  Not too busy of a curtain though.  Something simple.  I chose the Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP for the curtain.  I used a several of the new In Colors for this card and then added last years Tip Top Taupe as well. Most everything is popped up on dimensionals.  I did use the retired candy dots on this though.  I have a bunch and thought it was a great way to use them up.  You could substitute the new Enamel Shapes for them.

Here is where I started to dig around the old stamp room for my 3D project.  What had I bought and not used?  Ok, the list is long, but I pulled out this journal that I had purchased some time ago.  I think I may have gotten them in the Target dollar spot and we haven't had our Target for a year and a half.  Anyway, I covered it with some more of the Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP.  This sheet is one that is a little heavier weight (hence the specialty thing) and has some copper accents, but to me they look gold so I went with the gold for the leaves and the flower centers.  I finished it off with the Rushed Ribbon and as you can see in the next photo I added extra to make a book mark for it.  I really think I'm going to use this to record some things this summer.  I'm taking an online Bible study and it would be good for that as well.

Sorry this last pic is a little crowded.  I took the pics with my cell  phone and it doesn't give quite the view I would like on my projects.  May have to go back the digital camera.

Well I hope you've enjoyed these as much as I did making them.  Here's wishing you all a great summer!  Hope you find time to stamp!!!

Renee... Beautiful projects. Love the idea of creating a curtain! The journal is gorgeous and really showcases the new DSP. I'm so excited to be participating in the OSAT Blog Hop. (Sorry I'm commenting late but I've been traveling since Thursday evening).
