"OSAT Blog Hop - Dog Days of Summer"

It's blog hopping time with the OSAT group. I know I've been a little slack in the blogging.  Lots of things going on and will update about all that in another post, but right now I need to share with you my projects for the August Hop.......Dog Days of Summer!  Dog days of summer means to me that they are long, hot, lazy days and all a person feels like doing is lying down, maybe sip a drink and just be lazy like a dog. My card gives that feel, I think.   I didn't put a sentiment on it, that may come later when I use it, but for now it's just a lazy dog day of summer card.

I used the Sitting Here stamp set along with some pieces/parts from Kinda Eclectic and Sheltering Tree.  I made my porch using the Hardwood background and punched it out with the new Classic Label Punch.  After the Word Window punch was retired I was devastated because I used that one so much, but the Classic Label is even better.  You will notice all the little details on the card......yeah they  were a little fussy, but it's the therapy of fussy that I needed at the time I was making it.  I added some clear Wink of Stella to the sun for a little pop and sponged the background with what else, but Soft Sky.  This card looks much better IRL.  I guess I need to do some adjustments to my photo area.  I need better lighting I think.

For my 3D project, what better than some treats for my grand puppy.  He loves his treats, but he's also just as satisfied with ice cubes.  Yes, ice cubes!  When he is here and hears the sound of the refrigerator and someone getting ice he is all over it.  I didn't think the ice cubes would work in the box though. *wink*  I added a ball that I got him while we were on vacation.  I used the SU punch board to make my box.  It is a finished size box of 4" x 4" and it so easy to make with the punch board.  I used the new Sweet & Sassy heart thinlits and also the Large Letter Framelits.  I stamped the rest of Captain's name with the new Labeler Alphabet.  This is a must have stamp set.  It's little tiny letters that are great for stamping onto cards and also scrapbooking.  It has two styles of the alphabet and you can mix and match if you prefer.  There are even duplicates of some of the commonly used letters.  The best thing is that they are photopolymer and you can see exactly where you are stamping.  The tag was made in one shot.  I ran the paw pieces through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling embossing folder for some texture and stamped the box with Gorgeous Grunge.
Here is a picture of Grammy's Captain, my Captain.  This was the last time he was here in July.  His mom wanted to take him upstairs to bed and that's when he decided to jump up on Grammy and Gramp's bed.  He seemed to be saying I'll stay here mom.  I like Grammy and Gramps bed.  He is only 7 months old and such a sweetheart.  He has a lot of energy and wears me out, but we love him.  We sure miss having a dog in the house, but visits from Captain are good enough for now.  I think we're too old to start the doggy thing again and will stick to just our kitty cat.  Sabby (the kitty cat) agrees.  LOL!  He hides for the weekend when Captain and his mommy come visit.

Well I hope you enjoyed your nice little visit here and you continue to hop onto the ever talented Wynne Grob's blog.

If you find yourself lost on the hop, you can always come back here and find the complete list of hoppers.
Blessings,
Renee

Your grand-puppy Captain looks precious and I can see why you'd want to make him some treats. So cute. What a great scene you've created on your card too, so idylic. Nothing like a front porch on a sunny day!. Another thing about your projects that I really like is how you staged your photographs. Beautifully done! Thanks for sharing.
