Happy New Year!!!

I can't believe it's been since before New Year's that I posted last.  Time goes so fast.  We've had a few things going on.  My sister Michele's fiance Rick was diagnosed with colon cancer just before Christmas and it was a big shock for all of us.  He's only 43 years old and very healthy so it came as a big blow.  He had surgery last Friday and they removed 18" of his colon and a tumor the size of a softball.  He is now home and doing well, but waiting for the path report.  Doctor didn't think that it looked like it had spread anywhere, but we won't know for sure until the report comes back then they will proceed as needed with any more treatment.  Just as a little side note and to give God the praise in all of this I would like to share a little more about their story. They met on line on of all places www.farmersonly.com.  They met in March of this past year on line, he moved here (Michigan) from Nevada in late April.  They hit it off and as they say the rest is history.  It all seems so strange, but knowing now what we know is that God brought them together to save Rick's life.  We are sure of that.  You see he never would have gone to the doctor had she not encouraged/made him go.  He had only recently been having some stomach problems and thought maybe it was an ulcer.  The doctor said another 2 months and he would have had a rupture and died.  The Lord indeed works in mysterious ways.  We are praying for a good report

Ok, on to some creating.  I haven't done much since Christmas Eve.  I was tired and needed a little break I guess and besides that we have been experiencing such cold temps that it's hard to want to come to my stamp room in the basement.  It has heat and I have a small heater as well, but it's been so frigid with the temps in single digits and the windchills in the minus.  Yes, it was -31º just yesterday.  Brrrr.............  Today is warmer at 12º, the roads have been plowed and it looks like schools will be open for the first time this year.  I won't even get started on the amount of snow.  So anyway I came to the stamp room today and finished this wreath that I had started about a week ago.

This is a new kit that is available in the new Occasions Catalog.  You can find this kit HERE.  I will be offering a class to make this kit here at my home so if you are local and interested in attending drop me a message and let me know.  Everything you see here comes in the kit except that I added some Pistachio Pudding leaves.  Oh and you'll need a glue gun as well.  This kit is so simple even a beginner would have no problems with this.  Not local?  You can still order this kit from my website. This kit comes with directions as well.

Well hopefully this will get me back into the swing of things.  Thanks for stopping by.

Blessings,

Renee

A Favor and a Gift

Good afternoon!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that your New Year will be even better.  I've got a little favor to ask, but in so doing I'm also offering a little free gift.  Want to see what the gift is?

You could be the proud new owner of one set of these earrings. I have a little goal I would really like to meet before the year is out so what I'm going to do is give the first two people to place an order on my website or through me (min. shipping of $6.95 will apply) of $25 or more before tax and shipping will receive a set of these earrings.  These earrings are made with our beautiful Frosted Finishes embellishments.  These are still available in the Holiday catalog.  Remember the Holiday catalog is only good through January 2, but this special offer needs to be ordered before midnight on Dec. 31.  So who is going to be the lucky ones to own these earrings?  Believe me these earrings are way prettier in person.  This picture doesn't do them justice.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'm looking forward to a great stamping new year in 2014!

Renee

Bow Die Snowmen

I know I've been so bad in sharing on here lately.  Once again I've not been feeling well.  I had a rash start on my legs about two weeks ago and didn't know what it was.  Went to the Dr. and they didn't know what it was either, but gave me some cream and told me if it got worse to call them.  Well it got worse and spread to all parts of my body and was extremely itchy.  Doc said it was probably a bacterial infection and gave me an antibiotic.  I've been on that for about 3 days now and I don't seem to have any new breakouts.  All over though I just haven't felt good and that part started about 2 weeks ago as well so maybe it has been an infection.  Normally this time of year I love to be busy and preparing for Christmas, but not so much the last couple of weeks.  So anyway that is the reason for not much in creative posts.  Hopefully though you've been reading about all the great deals SU has been having and getting what you wanted.

Here is a project that I worked on yesterday.  Isn't he just the cutest?

I made him using the Bigz Bow die from the Holiday Catalog.  I found something on pintrest, but directions were vague so I just took off and did my own version.  Not really who the originator of this idea was so if it was you please let me know and I will give you credit because you were defintely the inspiration for this project.  His nose was made out of Stampin'Up!'s Simply Pressed clay and then I colored it with the Pumpkin Pie marker.  Ribbon and embellishment is from the Holiday Catalog.  I stamped the Whisper White cardstock with the lines from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Smoky Slate.  Oh and the twigs came from my own backyard and yes I went out in these frigid temps and snow to find them. So this morning I had to make him a companion and here he is.

 Here they are together.

Well I need to get back to some other projects.  Lots to do today.

Blessings,
Renee
