It's beginning to look a lot like......................

Ornaments! Since business has been slow the last while here, it's given me more time work on some things that I've been wanting to try. I do a lot of web surfing and find such cute ideas and don't always get the time to make them. These ornaments are made using chipboard coasters. I apply glue to the coaster, stick the DSP on and cut around them. Very easy.
This one of course is using my new fav stamp set called Winter Post. Winter Post is only available in the Holiday Winter Mini catalog and only through January 18. Wouldn't this set make a great gift? If you'd like to receive it as a gift let me know and the contact info for your "Santa" and I'll do the rest. Sometimes "Santa" needs a little help in what crafty women really want for Christmas. *grin*
I made this one look like it was quilted and speaking of that............I was so honored yesterday when my friend Patty Bennett cased this idea. Patty is one of the top demos for SU this year and a very talented lady. Check out her blog.
I found the idea of using the scallop circle die and sandwiching it between 2 coasters on a blog as well. I can't remember where though. Sorry! I die cut the snowflakes in Baja Breeze (probably my fav blue right now) Used Ski Slope DSP to cover the coasters and then made the banner freehand and stamped the words from the Country Living Holiday Collection stamp set. The finishing touch was a jumbo pewter brad and Baja Breeze ribbon.
This one was made in the same way. I used the star from the Holiday Collection stamp set and cut it out. I then mounted it on some cardboard and cut out again and mounted it on the ornament with a dimensional. It's hard to see, but I stamped a big star from last years set called Star-Studded Season (retired) and mounted the small star on top. I then used my white signo gel pen and made little lines to represent rays from the star. The words are from the Star-Studded Season set as well. DSP Ski Slope, Kiwi Kiss cardstock and ribbon and Riding Hood Red ink.
Wow that was a lot for today. Hope you stayed with me. Have yourself a great one!
Renee
