Please forgive my lack of postings

It's been quite the week. My uncle passed away unexpectedly last Wednesday. He lived in California and it had been sometime since I had seen him. We had always hoped to go out there soon to visit, but that just never seemed to happen. I guess this is a good scenario of waiting until you "have the money." That just doesn't seem to happen. He's my dad's oldest brother. Dad flew out on Friday to spend the week with his youngest brother and their families. I would have went with my dad, but unfortunately I had a wedding cake for this weekend. Mom and Dad and Carin and Luke were to have left for Missouri for a weeks vacation today, but that isn't happening either. It just seemed like a bad week and the rain only added to it all. I know that God allows all these things for a reason and sometimes it's hard to take it all in, but we just need to keep trusting Him since he knows what's best. I guess bad times can really only make us appreciate the good times more.

OK, if it sounds like I'm rambling, I guess I am. I don't have anything to show you today, but hopefully will be back tomorrow with some stamping. As always thanks for stopping in.

Blessings,
Renee

A Flower for All Seasons

I finally got around to putting ink to the set that I received at convention for my sales last SU year. You can find this set (A Flower for All Seasons) on page 87 of Fall/Winter Catalog. I wasn't sure what to do with this set until I was inspired by this card from Jami Sibley over on SCS. You can see her card here. I used the Holiday Treasures DSP and the large scallop circle was made with my Big Shot pennant die. The square scallops were done with the new square scallop punch. The ribbon is Riding Hood Red 5/8" striped grosgrain. The base of the card is Old Olive. I colored in the image using my ink pads and Aqua Painter.

These are some post it note books I'm making to sell at the new Back Street Quilt Shop in Elkton. They don't have a web site, but this page will give you their phone and email address. This is an adorable little quilt shop that just opened the first of this month. They are a quilting store, but they are also carrying some gifts as well. Barbie, one of the owners has been so sweet to me and has asked me to put some of my "wares" in her store. I'll be adding more things other than these, but I thought I'd share a little sneak peak. As always if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

I'm off today to spend some time with my sisters and my mom. We are going to visit Leipprandt's Apple Orchard. I haven't been there yet this year and their apples are always the best. I then have a workshop at 3:30 this afternoon at my wonderful friend Debby Baker's house in Elkton. Looking forward to seeing all the ladies from that group. The are always so much fun. Well most of them anyway. LOL

Have a great fall day!

It's Sunday!

Happy Sunday! Sunday is actually one of my favorite days. I not only get to go to church, but I get to spend time with Frank. Yes, even after 22 yrs. I still enjoy that. *wink*

Here is a little closer look at three of the cards I showed the other day. Did I tell you I really love the new "in colors"? This is the Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette. Again just using some of the leftovers on my workspace.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

At Your Request

This is for Chelle, who requested to see the butterfly card better. I'm curious as to who you are. We call my sister Chele and at first I thought it was her, but your post was way too nice sounding to be her. LOL

I used a piece of Soft Sky card stock behind the butterfly. I made the scallop edge piece with my scallop edged punch. Want to know how to do that? Book a workshop and I'll show you at your party. *wink* Again these cards are just made with scraps laying on my workspace that I made into cards.

Have a great day!

What to show you today??????????

Let me see............I actually did quite a bit of stamping yesterday. It was either stamp, pay bills or clean. Guess what won out? As most of you know I don't do well with no sunshine. I learned this a long time ago. My doc called it SDD (sunlight deprivation disorder) Figures I'd have some kind of disorder. LOL I learned this summer when my cousin from California was visiting that he has this too. His wife says he gets very depressed when there is no sunshine. I never would have thought of my cousin as being depressed. He's such a people person and so social and funny. He's really a hoot. OK, why did I feel the need to tell you all that? Oh, I know I was feeling the effects of no sun yesterday (and today is not looking any better) so I decided to do the most fun thing out of my three options yesterday.
I actually did some cleaning by stamping and using up a lot of the things laying around on my workspace to make cards. Usually that is when I make some of my best. You let me know what you think. I know I get a lot of hits on my blog here, but I receive very few comments. Speaking of that I would like to thank those who loyally visit my blog and a special thanks to those who leave comments. I like to know if what I'm posting is helping to inspire you, because that is my goal.

Yes, I made all these cards yesterday with just stuff that I had started and had laying around. Some was left overs from my convention swaps. I have such a hard time throwing things out. I know, hard to believe. I will show you a couple close up and then the rest over the next couple days.

This is my fav. I found the instructions how to make this flower on fellow SU demo Dannie Graves' blog. I just loved this and believe it or not it only takes six 5 Petal flowers. I was in doubt, but sure enough that's all. I used the new Haiku DSP. I'm sure glad I won that paper. You will notice that the scallop edge is smaller than the scallop edged punch and it was made using the edges off of the Big Shot pennant die. Another great use for that die!
This card will fit into a business size envelope. I layered the scallop circle punch on top of the scallops from the Big Shot pennant die. I just used scrap pieces layered on top of each other and ran it through. I cut 3 scallops all at one time and they layer perfectly under the scallop circle punch. Yet another great use for that die. Are you seeing a pattern here?

Well sorry about such a long post today. Hope I've kept your attention.
Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Whoo Is It?

It's cute Mr. Owl. This idea came from our latest demo SU newsletter and I just knew I had to make one. Isn't he cute? After I made him I wasn't too sure what to do with him so I sat down and started messing around with some of the scraps on my workspace. I've been trying to clean my office for 2 weeks now and I just haven't been making any headway. I'd rather stamp than clean, so I thought maybe it would help to clean up some of the mess by putting it to good use. I used all SU punches to make him.
Punches: Round Tab, Scallop Circle, Boho Blossoms, 5 petal flower, 3/4" circle, 1/4" circle, 1/8" circle, Photo Corner
Paper: Choc Chip, Haiku DSP, Tangerine Tango Textured, Creamy Carmel, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink
Accessories: Pewter Lg. Eyelet, Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain, Mat Pack
Ok, back to cleaning. I've got another punch idea for you maybe later or at least by tomorrow.
