Good Saturday morning to ya! I was going to post this card yesterday, but just ran out of steam or was it I really never got any steam going. I did my last Stampin’Up! workshop for the month on Thursday night and decided that Friday was my day off. Worked great until hubby was in the area working at a farm and decided he’d come and eat his lunch at home. I wasn’t even dressed. I always feel so guilty when I take time to just be lazy. Why is that? Ok that is another subject we just don’t have time for. On to the stamping.

This card is going to one of my BFF’s who doesn’t live close by and who I miss very much. Our birthdays are one week apart, we got married the same year, but one month apart and this was all before we ever knew each other. We tend to look at life pretty much the same way most days and are usually going through similar things at the same time, but when it comes to other things like cooking and being crafty? Not so much! The food will come from the deli and anything crafty will be made by someone else and purchased. As you can see from the pic we look quite the opposite as well. She’s tall and thin and of course well let's just say, I’m NOT!! But we’ve had a connection since our girls were in pre-school and the years and miles haven’t taken that away. She’s my “person.” You know the one that would help you bury the body. LOL Have a great day Leigh! Love you!

Renee

Feel the Magic of Spring

Ok, I admit it, I do have trouble coming up with titles for my blog postings, but that's not the reason I've been missing in action again for a week.  I apologize once again.  I have been pretty busy with workshops the last while so that is part of my excuse and the other part.................maybe laziness, (*grin*) and I haven't felt the best the last few days.  Too much birthday partying maybe? Or is it because I turned 47?  LOL  Either way that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

This is a cake I made last week

So that's the "magic part" of the blog post and here is the spring part

I used the 2 step bird punch to make these flowers.  Yes, that's the wing of the bird.  Not my original idea as I've seen it several places on the web, but I had to give it a try.  Sort of reminds me how I make little flower buds on my cakes.  I used the scalloped corner and border punches on the Pretty in Pink piece.  Can you believe I made a Mother's Day card already in Marchl?  That's gotta be a record for me.  *wink*

Have a great day!  The weekend is almost here.

Blessings,
Renee

Almost a week!

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I've posted.  So sorry for that.  Lots of little things going on.  I've been busy with SU workshops, which is always a good thing and I'm happy to report I've reached a milestone in the company.  This morning I officially put in an order that got me to my 200K personal sales milestone.  It's taken me 10 yrs to reach it, but I made it.  What exactly does that mean?  Well of one thing SU will send me a letter and a pin congratulating me on my achievment  and next month I will receive a $2000 bonus check.  Not too many companies do that for their representatives/employees now do they?  Stampin'Up! is an awesome company to work for.  I love my job and not only for the monetary benefits, but the way that this business has opened up my circle of friends.  When I look back over the last 10 yrs. (my anniversary with the company will be in April) I just can't tell you how many people I've met and how many friends I've made.  I've even got to travel because of Stampin'Up!  I will share a little more about that next month during my anniversary month.

Now onto the stamping.  My sister and I spent the day on Tuesday doing a little retail therapy.  Hadn't done any of that since Christmas so we had to visit some of our fun places we like to go, which of course included Target.  I found this cute little glittery basket in the $ spot there.  Isn't it cute?

Yes, the basket came all glittery like that.  I added my embellishments using the 2 Step Bird Punch and the Trio Flower Punch (both sell for $15.95 each)

Here's a little close up.  Trying to play with my camera a little and get some different kinds of shots.  I have lots of learnin' to do. *grin*

Hope you're having a great Thursday.  The weekend is almost here.

Blessings,
Renee

More Scrapbook Pages

Here a couple more scrapbook pages I completed last weekend.

I think this first one is a little out of the box as far as layout, but I liked how it turned out.

This next one is very simply.  Maybe I'd get more pages done if I kept with the simple thing.  Do you think?  Guess I just love to be creative.  As you can see from these two pages I'm just loving our new punches.  Pinking Heart Corner and the Scallop Trim Border.

Well that's all for today.  I've got a couple of cakes to make today.

Blessings,
Renee

A Little Scrapbooking for ya!

Here is a page I created last weekend at the Cross Lutheran School all day crop event.  It's hard to see in the pictures, but I used the shimmer pain on these to add to the elegance of this cake I made.

I know it looks kind of dirty, but it IRL it is very shimmery.  I use the the Manhatten Flower embossing folder and cut them out.  I also used the 2-step bird punch.  I was real happy with how this page turned out.

This page was done with the 5th Ave. Floral stamp set (which by the way matches the Manhatten Flower embossing folder).  I stamped the background with versamark ink.  The other pieces are from a retired Simply Scrappin' Kit.  I love to scrapbook with these kits.

I'll share a couple a more pages tomorrow so stop back.

Blessings,
Renee

Things I Love...

Here is card I made when I was doing a demonstration for a group on different heat embossing techniques. This one I used the Heat & Stick powder and then added the red glitter.  Would you like to learn more about heat embossing?  Contact me and I can show  you and your friends some of the fun things you can make with embossing powders.  Oh and did I mention you can get this awesome set for free right now with a $50 order?  This offer is only good through March 31 so hurry!

Here's the inside
Cute huh?

Have a great Saturday!

More Felted Cell Phone Purses

Here are a few more cell phone purses I made this week.  I'm really having fun trying to teach myself some felting.  The previous ones I showed you the pieces were just hot glued on.  These ones I actually used a felting needle to attach the designs.  Since the class I was going to take on felting was cancelled I couldn't wait until it could be rescheduled so I've just been trying things on my own.  Don't know exactly if I'm doing it right or not, but I'm having fun.  All pieces of felt were cut using the Big Shot and dies.

Dies used:  Top Note, Beautiful Butterfiles, Baskets and Blooms

I've had several comments or questions asking me about these

You've wanted to know if the edges were sharp.  And the answer is, no not really.  I suppose if you really pushed real hard or purposely ran your finger directly on the edge and were trying to cut yourself you probably could, but to just pick them up or grab them quickly, in a word no.  If I were to sit these on fine furniture like a endtable, coffee table or any wood surface I would probably put a piece of felt on the bottom so as to not have someone move it and scratch my furniture, but other than that they really aren't sharp at all.  If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Enjoy!

It's A Chipboard Birdie

It's a Bird, it's a Bird, it's a Chipboard Bird.  I made this using the new On Board Bird Book.  You can find these on page 34 of the Occasions Mini Catlalog.  This bird actually measures 8-1/4" x 3-3/8" so it is fairly good size.  I used the larger size paper clips for the legs. Covered the chipboard with some Raspberry Lemonade DSP and the added some of the Stitched Felt Flowers and some Organza Whisper White Ribbon to finish it off.

Wouldn't these look cute sitting around your house this Spring?  You could make 8 of these from one book.  You could also make a cute little scrapbook for yourself or that someone special.  See below how the book comes and the other two shapes available.  And the best part is that they only sell for $4.95 and come with a ballchain ring.

So call me today and you too can be making some Spring Birdies.

Blessings

Yes, another Big Shot Project

I know you're probably asking doesn't Renee make cards anymore?  Of course I do, but I've been having so much fun trying all kinds of mediums in the Big Shot that it gets hard to stop.  I used the Flower Folds die and roof flashing (really thin kind that comes in a roll) and cut these flower shapes out.  Now you're saying, "big deal, what is it?"  Well I'm gonna show you.  Scroll down....................

Keep going............

Ta da!

It's a candle holder. Wouldn't this make a nice little inexpensive thinking of you gift or how about table decorations?  I used the Petals a Plenty embossing folder on the middle layer, but you could leave it plain or how about putting some Stampin'Up! Rub-ons on it.  I can't take credit for this idea since I've seen other demos make these, but I can take credit for making this one.  LOL

Now take a close look at the pictures and you will see that I didn't crop something out of it.  What is it?  Come back tomorrow and I'll show you what it is and no it's not made with the Big Shot. *grin*

Have a great day!

A Scrapbook Page for a Change

I know I don't often post a lot of scrapbooking ideas.  Not sure why other than I don't get to scrapbook as often as I like and many times I'm using up a lot of my retired SU stuff when I do so I don't want to show things you can no long purchase.  On Friday night they started a VSN (virtual stamp night) over on SCS and I was able to sneak one challenge in.  I used the new set I had just received for FREE, Happy Together.  It is one of the choices available to choose with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration.  I created my own background using the stamp set as well.  I actually made this page from the first idea to finishing it in less than a half hour.  Guess I just wanted to prove to myself I could do it.  LOL  Now to add some pictures.

Stamp Set:  Happy Together
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise
Paper:  Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Accessories: Pinking Hearts Corner Punch, Large Flower Punch, Oval-wide, large, scallop, 1 3/8" circle punch, Big Shot Top Note die, 5/16" white brad

Hope you're having a great day!

Big Shot & Felt

I had intended to get these posted on the weekend, but somehow that didn't happen.  Hubby had Saturday off from work so we spent some time together and even went to a movie on Saturday night, then met some friends and family for dinner.  Well we ate their dinner leftovers--long story and not very interesting.  *grin*  And today I've been a "domestic goddess". LOL  We're having swiss steak for supper and I also baked some muffins.  Yum!

Anyway here's what I have for you...............

These are made with felt and the Big Shot.  Aren't they just too, too cute?  Quite a few years ago I did a lot of felt projects, especially with my girls so when I saw that others were using felt with the Big Shot I got so excited I just about PIMP (peed in my pants).  I know it doesn't take much to excite me. LOL  There is just something about making a blanket stitch that I like.  Ok by now you think I've really lost it. LOL  I love to make things for my girls so both of these went to them.  Believe me I'll be making more.

Dies used: Top Note, Flower Daisies #2, Baskets & Blooms
Stampin'Up! buttons and pretties kit

Blessings,
Renee
