Something New----Finally!

Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted since Aug 11. Sorry for my absence. As most of you know we've had a lot going on in our lives and if you are a new blog reader you can go back and read it from around the 21st of April til now. I won't bore my faithful readers who know all the ugly details of my life as of late. I will tell you that as I type this Frank and I are in the Detroit area and he is undergoing some tests and treatment for thyroid cancer. He's doing fine and we are praying for a full recovery. Of course coming down here to stay for 4 days I had to bring a little stamping stuff and actually got the chance to stamp last night. So without further delay here is what I made.

Friends 24/7. I just love this set and it looks so pretty with the In Color Bermuda Bay. I was really happy with how it turned out. I haven't made anything this artistic it awhile now. Hope you like it too.

This isn't anything real fancy, but I wanted to use the new Medallion stamp. I stamped it on Dusty Durango textured cardstock so it probably didn't stamp the best, but I don't think it turned out too bad.
That's it for today unless I get time to stamp later. Frank has to go and have a full body scan at 1:00 pm so I better get ready.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs and Blessings,
Renee

Convention Buddy Gift

Here is the gift I made for my SU Convention Buddy. Unfortunately this year I was not able to attend the SU convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, but I did have the fortune of having a convention buddy. What is a convention buddy you ask? Well, it's someone who is able to attend and in some way tries to help someone who can't attend enjoy a little bit of the convention experience. My buddy was Robin and she is from Hawaii. She sent me text messages about the things taking place and she also was so kind to fight the Memento Mall lines and pick me up a couple of items that SU had for sale only to convention attendees. I wanted to show her in some way how much I appreciated all she did for me. I really hope she likes this. It's just a simple frame (has a magnet on the back) that I covered with Cottage Wall DSP and added some punch embellishments and a SU Exclusive Big Shot Die Flower and of course that lushish Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon. The center piece was stamped with the Circle Circus stamp set and punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch. I then layered using SU dimensionals.
Hugs!

Create!

This is an artist canvas that I've applied a Stampin'Up! Decor Element to. Haven't seen our Decor Elements? Click on the green and blue pic on the right and you can view this great catalog.
How I made it. I took several coordinating acrylic paint colors and dry brushed them on the canvas until I liked the look. After it was dry I then applied the vinyl decor element to the canvas and then stamped a few flowers around to finish it off. I applied the acrylic paint directly to the stamp using a sponge brush and Viola' a nice wall hanging that will make it's way into my stamp room when we are able to move back into our house. The possibilities are endless with our lovely Decor Elements. View the great August Decor Element special HERE.
Now go and create!

Another Bump in Our Road

Good Sunday Morning to you all! I just have a few minutes here before getting ready for church, but wanted to update you all on Frank and also post something that might be of a little interest you my stamping friends.

Frank has to go back in to have the other side of his thyroid taken out. Doc said it looked fine when he took out the other side with the goiter and they hate to leave you without any thyroid if they don't have to, but the pathology report came back cancer. Not real big, but bigger than they can just treat with radiation so he has to have it out and he wanted to do it right away before his incision heals completely, so we are headed to Royal Oak, Beaumont Hospital tomorrow morning and he will have surgery at 12:00 pm. He should be able to come home the same day if all goes ok. I'm trying to look at it as just another bump in our road. We covet your prayers in this. I truly know that the Lord has only the best for us and that even though we are going through so much right now with this and the fire, it is going to make the good times that are sure to come be that much sweeter.

Now to a little stamping news. Below is the Big Shot organizer that my dad made (no it's not mine), but another one and the good news is that this one is for sale. You can see and read the story of mine HERE. But the good news about this one is that it is FOR SALE. That's right my dad has started to make these and will be selling them. The cost is $85 plus shipping to you. It does weigh approximately 40# so shipping will vary with where it needs to be shipped to. If you don't need it shipped and would like to pick it up, then it's just $85. If you are a customer of mine and can pick it up then ask about our special. Please contact me via email at this address. ibecakes@yahoo.com I will need to know your address with zip code to be able to give shipping charges. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a wonderful day!

Renee
