Stamp A Stack Card

Here is one of the cards from my last Stamp-a-stack class that was held last month.
The strips on the bottom are the Red and Silver Glimmer paper.  This paper makes such a statement even when used in small amounts.  The stamp set used is Season of Joy and the greeting is from the set Four the Holidays.  All items can be ordered through my stampin' store at http://www.reneeond.stampinup.net/ or directly through me.

Finally a Christmas Card

I've been wanting to get a Christmas card posted for you, but just haven't gotten around to it.  I made this card a week or so ago and hadn't gotten around to taking the picture and getting it uploaded.  Just can't seem to get focused these days.  I punched out the ornament in the very vanilla cardstock and then put the DSP behind it.  It's hard to see in the picture, but I put some Dazzling Details on the berries so it is really sparkly.  The Merry Christmas is from the Teeny Tiny Messages set.  Hope you enjoyed this and if you did leave me a comment.  Thanks for stopping by.

Skaters in Blue

Here is a card from my Christmas card stamp a stack class.  A very simple card, but yet I really like the nostalgic feel of these skaters.  It's hard to see in the picture, but the trees have some Dazzeling Details and them and they really glitter IRL.  The colors are Soft Suede and Baja Breeze.

Stocking Joy

Well I'm back again after another pause in blogging.  I was sick again last week so that's my excuse.  Well it's the best one I've got anyway.  LOL!  This is a card I made quite sometime ago, but just hadn't posted it.  Lots of texture and glitz and probably not a card I would mass produce, but a fun one none the less.  I used the Snowburst embossing folder, silver glitter paper and rhinestones and the stamp set Stitched Stockings.  And don't you love the quilted Cherry Cobbler ribbon?

Thanks for stopping by!

It's been over a month.......

I can't believe it's been over a month since I posted last. Life has certainly gotten in the way. I've been busy with lots of SU events, which is always a good thing, but I've also not been at my best physically. I won't go into details here, but I had some unexpected surgery that has slowed me down a bit. If you want to know more, just email me privately and I'll be happy (well maybe not in the excited way, happy ;) to share with you.

So please forgive me for being missing in action. I'll try and do better, but the next couple of weeks are going to be busy so we'll see. I have a card Christmas card class on Thursday so there will be some cards to share after that.  So until then..............here is a card I've been using for my October workshop make and takes. Enjoy!

Love You 24/7

Here's a card I made sometime ago and just hadn't shared with you yet.  I save pictures on my desktop until I post them and finally have gotten around to sharing this one with you.

And while I'm at it here is another one.

I was using up some punched pieces I had laying on my work space with this one.  I thought the layering turned out rather nice.  Hope you enjoyed these.

Another Punched Tree

I thought I'd share another punched tree card that I made using the Doily Triple Layer Punch.  I love how the pieces that punch out can become the leaves.  Isn't that just too cool?  Wish I could take the credit for thinking of that idea, but that goes to a lady by the name of Connie.  Thanks Connie for the great idea.  The DSP is Well Worn.  All items used are Stampin'Up! and can be ordered through me or directly through my Stampin'Up! website .  As always if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.  Thanks for stopping by.

Pewter Tree

Here is another card using the same stamp that was in yesterdays post.  This time I stamped it in Versamark and embossed with the NEW Pewter Embossing Powder from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  This card is much prettier in real life and to me has a real WOW to it.  Tomorrow I'll show the cards from my Let's Get Punchy class that I'm having tonight so be sure to stop back.

Leaves of a Tree

Fall is certainly in the air these days.  Where did our summer go?  Fall though is my favorite season so when I saw this single stamp in the Holiday Mini Catalog I just knew I had to have it.  It is called Leaves of a Tree (123843) and sells for $9.95.  I'll be showing several things you can do with this stamp over the next few weeks, but here's the first.  I used sponge daubers and added color directly to the stamp using several different colors and then stamped.  The words are from the set Just Believe.  I used the new Spice Cake DSP from the Holiday Mini as well.  Thanks for stopping by.

Joseph's Coat

The technique used on this card is called Joseph's coat and has been around for at least as long as I've been stamping and I'm sure probably before that.  I had forgotten about it and them came across a card that someone had done using this technique and thought it would be great with this set, Autumn Splendor.  I love how it turned out.  In the past I did this with a multicolor ink pad and a brayer, but since we don't have multifcolor pads anymore I thought I'd just do it with sponges.  If you've never done this before and would like to give it a try, here are the steps.

1. I used Whisper White cardstock, but you can use glossy cardstock as well.  Sponge different colors of ink randomly over the cardstock.
2. Stamp images in Versamark Ink and heat embossing with Clear Embossing Powder
3. Using a sponge or a brayer add your dark color.  I used Early Espresso Ink.
4. Buff your image with a kleenex to remove any ink on the embossed images.

Enjoy!

Got Birthday?

Here is a quick card I put together the other day using stuff I had "started" that was laying on my stamping area.  Did you know a 1" circle punch is the perfect size to go behind the flowers on the Lace Ribbon Border Punch?  I used Chocolate Chip on this one.  Can you see the Smooch paint I used on the frosting of the cupcake?  This cupcake is from the Got Treats stamp set.  The background was embossed using the Stripes embossing folder.  The other colors are Melon Mambo, Pool Party and Crumb Cake.  And for a little bling I added some Rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by.

Gratitude, Day 3

Here is one more card using the Day of Gratitude set.  I used the Domestic Goddess DSP on this one.  Colors are Pool Party and Chocolate Chip.  The scallop circle is the other circle from the Perfect Pennants Big Shot die.  Inside the scallop circle I added a Chocolate Chip 1 3/4" circle and then the leaf from the Day of Gratitude stamped in Wild Wasabi.  The words are from Perfectly Penned.  Oh and I think the Chocolate Chip scallop dots ribbon really finshes it off.

Renee

Gratitude, Day 2

As promised here is another card using the Day of Gratitude stamp set.  I'm sure you didn't think I would post again so soon now did ya? *wink*  Guess I haven't posted much cause I haven't really been in the mood.  You see I have something weighing heavy on my heart and even though I have no control over it, it does wear on me at times.  You see my mom has been sick and I've felt so helpless in helping her to get better.  It's hard because my mom and I are very close and it's hard to see someone you love going through such a trying time, but I am so grateful that I have my mom.  I know that thinking about the good things and being grateful is what's best for everyone.  My mom will get through this and come out stronger.

Let me take this time to say thanks to those who visit my blog and especially to those who leave comments.  You may not think it's much, but reading comments to my posts gives me such a shot in the arm.  Makes me really feel like I'm connecting with you all.  I know many of you read my blog and don't comment and I'm grateful for you too.  Thanks for stopping by.

Gratitude

Do you ever struggle with being grateful?  I know that I do at times.  This saying from the set Day of Gratitude really is a good reminder though.  We need to be thankful for even ordinary days.  I love this set and am so happy that it returned after being in last years holiday mini catalog.  I ended up making a couple of cards with this set that I will share with you over the next couple of posts.  Colors are Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz.  The circle is from the Perfect Pennants Big Shot die.

Good Mornin', Mornin'

Hello Sunshine, Wake up Sleepy head...........Yes I woke up with the Donna Fargo song in my head.  I'm probably showing my age with that one, eh?

My new catalog open house was last night and it turned out great.  Had great attendence, good sales and bookings.  What more could a girl ask for.  I'll try and upload the make and takes in the next couple of days, but for now here is a card that I made that was part of an auction donation.

This was made using the set Fruit and Flowers. I love the brightness of the colors I used.  Makes it look like a sunny, happy card.  What do you think?

Well, I've got a house to put back together after last night.  Still have lots of retired stuff for sale if you are interested, just let me know.

Adorable Case and Open House Reminder

This card is a case of a card made by Tammy Olsen.  When I saw it I just knew I had to make one.  Isn't it adorable?  I love how the Cherry Cobble Seam Binding is woven through the scallop circle.  That scallop circle comes from the Perfect Pennants Big Shot die.    Such a simple card, but so eye catching and easy to duplicate.

Don't forget about my New Catalog Buy One/Get One Free Open House next week.
Date: August 18
Time: 6-9 pm  Come anytime
How it works:  Buy stuff from my retired merchandise and then get that same amount to spend in the catalog on new merchandise.  Shipping and tax apply.  What a deal!  I only offer this once a year so don't miss out.
Please RSVP by Monday August 15 so I can plan for the make and takes.  Thanks!

Family Sampler

Well it's Friday and I've had a pretty productive day so I thought why not add another thing in and share a blog post.  Ever since I saw Wendy Weixler's Family sampler frame in this post, I've been dying to make one myself.  The only frame I had was one that I had just thrown in the trash (see don't throw out anything you might need it) *wink*  So I dug the frame out and painted it white.  Then after finding out what Wendy's measurements were for the squares I knew I would have to adjust mine, but could I do it and make it still look good?  Sure, why not!!!

This was so much fun to make.  I can't wait to make another and instead of digging in the trash I think I'll have my awesome woodworking dad make me the size frame I need.  He loves to feel useful.  LOL!  On second thought I might want to be careful of asking because he might want me to help clean up that garage sale mess in his work shed.  Yikes!  I've been holding him off because of the extreme heat and humidity we've had most of the summer.  Well that's another whole story. *grin*

So without further ado here is the frame sampler I made...............
Don't you just love it!!!  Our family picture fit in so well with the colors.  Thanks for stopping by.

Congratulations Lindsay!

Our daughter Lindsay graduated on June 10, 2011 from Baker College and we are so proud.  Yes, she's done something that neither of her parents did so we are extra proud.  Here is the notebook I made her.  You knew I had to give her something handstamped, didn't you?

These comp books are so easy to find this time of year although I have quite the stash.  They really do make a nice journal type gift for almost anyone.

Snowmen and Heat?

Yes, snowmen and the heat don't mix too well, but this cute little guy still looks good inspite of all the heat and humidity we are experiencing once again here in Michigan.  We actually had a couple days where we kept the windows open and had a nice breeze, but that has come to an end.  Oh well, winter will be here before we know it, I'm sure.

This snowman is from the new set called Snow Much Fun (122560 w or 122562 c)  I love the size of the snowmen in this set.
I stamped him on Naturals White cardstock which was cut with the Top Note die and colored him in with SU markers.  I embossed the snowflakes with the Northern Flurry embossing folder.  Colors are Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.  I love using non traditional colors.  I'm such a rebel.  LOL!

Hope you enjoy this little snowman on such a hot day!

Delicate Doilies One Sheet Wonder

These cards were made from punched out pieces (postage stamp punch) from a One Sheet Wonder.  I used all new 2011/2012 In Colors.  Very quick and easy cards to duplicate.  How do you do a One Sheet Wonder?  For those who don't know, you simply take a sheet of cardstock (Whisper White was used here) and stamp the sheet completely using one stamp set and then you cut or punch it into the sizes you want to use on your card.  You use the whole sheet and can make several cards with that one sheet plus a base layer for your cards.  If you need more information please feel free to contact me.  I used the Delicate Doilies stamp set (pg. 127) and the words are from the set Happy Greetings set found in the Summer Mini Catalog.  Thanks for stopping by.

Field Flowers

Sorry for not posting for awhile.  The heat and humidity have really gotten to me.  We have had temps in the 90's with a heat index in the 100's and those two things do not mix well with me.  It has cooled off a little and it only suppose to be in the high 80's.  Still hot, but will seem cooler.  I've been staying in the air and doing some stamping though.  My new favorite set is called Field Flowers.  It's such a pretty set and so easy to make it a WOW because it is 2 step stamping.  I haven't purchased a 2 step stamping set in quite awhile and forgot about the WOW factor of a set like that.

Aren't these colors gorgeous together?  They are Island Indigo and Pool Party and the stem are stamped in Lucky Limeade.  Notice the new embossing folder I used?  It's called Stripes.  Attend my Buy One/Get One Open House Sale on August 18 to see even more samples with this set.

Blessings and have a great day!

Another Catty Case

Here is another card that I cased from the new catalog.  It's from page 211.  Not exactly the same, but it's where my inspiration came from.  I actually used the new On Board Merry Medley chipboard from page 191 instead of hoarding it.  I dyed the white baker's twine using a marker.

Fun Gate Fold Card

Well it's almost the weekend.  Don't you just love beautiful summer weekends?  From what the weatherman is saying, it's going to be gorgeous here.  Sounds like some pool time for us.  Even though the weather is beautiful I'm still getting in a little stamping time and wanted to share this card I made with you.  I got the inspiration from this blog http://www.stampinpretty.typepad.com/.  There is even a video to tell you how to make it HERE  Check out her blog.  She has some great projects and her one minute to wow videos are awesome.

This card is called a gate fold card.

And the inside.........

I used the DSP Just Add Cake and the base of the card is Poppy Parade along with Baja Breeze.  The stamp set is Create a Cupcake.  Enjoy!

Ornate Blossom Meets Blossoms Petals Punch

I just couldn't wait to share this card with you.  I was looking at the Ornate Blossom single stamp and was trying to figure out what else could be done with this stamp and all of a sudden a lightbulb went off.  The center of it reminded me of the large petal from the Blossoms Petals punch so I got to work.  I made me an ink pad with a babywipe using the new In Colors Lucky Limeade, Indigo Island, and Pool Party.  I then stamp the Ornate blossom using my made up ink pad.
Ornate Blossom StampI then punched it out using the Blossoms Petal punch

Blossom Petals Xl Punch - by Stampin' Up!Made my flower and to finish it off I added dazzeling diamonds glitter on the petals, although it is hard to see in the picture.  It really is beautiful IRL.  I was actually quite proud of myself since this was my own idea.  I hope you enjoy it and as always all items can be ordered from me or my stampin' store.

Blessings,
Renee

Great New Hostess Plan

With the release of the new 2011/2012 Idea Book and Catalog comes a new hostess plan.  Same great perks for hosting, but now you get to choose whether you want hostess sets, spend all your hostess rewards throughout the catalog or a little of both.  You can still get exclusive hostess sets and at an awesome greatly reduced price with your hostess rewards or just choose to use your hostess rewards on just catalog merchandise or like I've already said, you can spread them out over both.  So this means that hostess dollars have increased.  And to top it all off when your party reaches $400 in sales you get to choose 1 item at half price, $500 party 2 items, $750 party 3 items, $1000+ 4 items.

So what are you waiting for?  Let's get your Stampin'Up! party booked today.

Catching Up

It's Wednesday and the holiday weekend is coming.  Yay!  We have our pool open and hubby is going to start heating it tonight.  We have an outdoor woodstove that heats our pool and due to the major storm that came through a few weeks ago we've got lots of wood so we can heat the pool to a comfortable temp.  I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend.  How about you?

I thought today I'd post several projects and sort of catch up on things.  I've been stamping, just not posting like I should.  I hope you enjoy these projects and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me at ibecakes@airadv.net since I won't be posting details on each one.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy!

Blessings,
Renee

PS  Please feel free to leave a comment or two.  I would love to hear from you.

Catty Case

When we demonstrators get our first peak at the new catalog and before we can actually order anything other than sneak peaks, I like to take the catalog and case some of the examples with what I have and that is what I did with this card.  If you already have your catalog, it's from page 106.  Not exactly like it, but very similar.  I've had the Ornate Blossom stamp since it came out last year and I hate to admit it, but it hasn't seen much ink.  I love how it works with the Fabulous Florets stamp set from the Beyond the Garden product suite.  The colors used are Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy.  I've always loved yellow and blue together.  The card size is 3" x 6" and fits in a regular bill paying type envy.

Here is another one with the same layout.

I got the card all done and realized I had a red smudge.  I hate when that happens! :(  Never fear make an embellishment to cover it up.  In the end I thought it looked like I had planned it that way and was a nice way to embellish the inside. :)  This card went to my sweet aunt who lives in California and she doesn't go on the computer so she'll never know. ;)

Blessings,
Renee

4th of July Banner

Wow I can't believe I haven't posted since Sunday.  This week has been something else.  On Monday our toilet, sinks, tub started to make gurggling noises which could only mean one thing, the septic tank was full and sure enough.  Water was seeping in the basement because one of the pipes was plugged.  Not a fun thing, but we got it taken care of, had it pumped and $160 later we were good to go.  Then Tuesday night just as Frank was getting home from work we lost power.  There had been a little wind, but nothing bad.  We were without power until 1:45 am Wednesday morning.  So by this time I'm thinking I can hardly wait to see what Wednesday would bring.  Well never fear, with Wednesday brought torrential rain storms and a flooded basement and yes even into my office/stamp room.  We have never had so much trouble with water in the basement in all of the 25 years we've lived here.  We had heavy rains last night, but it didn't make it into my stamp room, thank goodness.  Things are drying out rather nicely today and we are looking to a sunny weekend or so the weatherman is telling us.  So that was my week.  How was yours?

I just realized this afternoon that I hadn't posted all week.  How time flies when you are having fun eh?  Well I made this banner last week and was going to wait until the 4th to share it with you, but thought it might be best to share it ahead of time in case you  are a demo and wanted to case it.

I used the new Pennant die that will be available on July 1 to make this fun banner.  If you remember I made this banner HERE using this same stand.  I have good news for you though if you like these banners.  I will be offering classes soon to make banners and it will include a stand as well.  Look for more details soon.

Lastly, I have a fresh batch of the new 20011/2012 Idea Book and Catalog on hand so if you'd like to get your copy please feel free to contact me.  If you pre-ordered and would like to pick yours up please contact  me to make arrangements to do so.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Here is the card I'll be giving my dad today and yes my dad is a tie wearing kind of dad.  He's the best daddy a girl could ask for and he means the world to me.  I love you daddy!  Happy Father's Day!

This is a picture of me and my sister Carin with our daddy in 1965.

Great News!

Good Saturday morning to you!  Sorry I didn't get to post while I was away, but I have great news.  Hubby's scans came back negative.  No signs of cancer anywhere.  We are still waiting for the final blood tests next week, but are believing they will be negative too. He's back on his meds and went to work today so all is good and we are so thankful to answered prayer.

Here is another embedded/embossed card.  These are so neat because they make it look like it's all one piece of cardstock.  Just glue on your circles and run through the Square Lattice embossing folder and wa-la.  Neat huh?  Don't have this embossing folder?  You can order it from my stampin' store or directly through me.  The words are from the set Word Play.

Have a great Saturday!
Blessings,
Renee
