Love Me

I have a quick card for you today.  This would make a great Valentine card or a just because card for that matter.

Again I've used lots of new product on this card.   Hope you like it.

When I looked on Facebook this morning, this is one of the first things I came across and just had to share it today.  Such a beautiful song.  I've followed Danny Gokey since his first appearance on American Idol.  He is a wonderful singer, but more importantly he has a great testimony.  Things haven't been always easy for him, but I love how he praises the Lord through it all.  Enjoy!

A Treat FOR YOU

Good Evening!  Yes, it's after 5:00 pm and I'm just getting to my post.  I know it's actually a little earlier than it's been.  I have so many grownup things that have to be done most days that I leave this to later.  I suppose if I got up earlier that would help, but I'm just not a morning person in the winter time.

I have a little treat bag for you today.  This bag was made using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and I used the lovely Love Blossoms DSP.  This actually went together rather quickly.  The Whisper White square is 2-1/2" and I wanted the next layer to be 2-3/4" and that is wider than the Ornate topper punch so what I did was put it up and over the sides and slid it in.  I then trimmed the top of the two little nubs on the side.  It worked great.  I used the Gold Wink of Stella on the flowers on the heart to give it a little sparkle.  The crochet ribbon is retired, but you could use the new Venetian Crochet Trim.  I also tucked in a little bit of the gold cording we had in the Holiday catalog.

I really find that Rose Red works so good for a Valentine color.  Of course you could give this to anyone anytime of year.

Be Mine

Wow, what a day!  I've accomplished a lot, but yet nothing.  Ever have a day like that?  I cooked today.  I mean like real cooking.  Like homemade vegetable soup cooking.  I also made some chocolate sweet bread.  I then had a goofy conversation with my aunt, but I think I've figured out why she's been so goofy lately.  She has once again been trying to decide if she needs her meds or not and decided that she shouldn't take her potassium.  She's taken it most of her life, but now that she's 81 she thought she didn't need to take it.  Yes, these are the DAYS OF MY LIFE.  LOL!  I know I shouldn't laugh, but sometimes I have to or I'll got bonkers.  Anyway, I then headed to my stamp room and decided I needed to make something fun.  What do you think?  Does it look fun?

This card is so much more shimmery than this picture shows. I used Wink of Stella, which is a new product in the Occasions catalog. I used the gold on this card. I wish it would show up in the picture.

Last in a Series

Well it certainly has been a different sort of Sunday.  We received freezing rain overnight so our roads were extremely slippery this morning.  We decided to not venture out to church since we drive about 20 miles to church and then church was cancelled so we stayed put.  It is now snowing and the temps have continued to drop all day.  Just another day in Michigan.

Well I have the third card in a series that I've been doing using up some MPP kits.  These were so fun to make.

Don't you just love this woodcutter from Wood You Be Mine?  The ground on this card was stamped using the Sheltering Tree stamp set.  I thought that anchored him a little and made it not look like he was in mid air. LOL!  The hearts were from the Best Day Ever SAB set and I thought the stripes in the went real well with the stripes of the card.  The words are from the retired Good Greetings stamp set that was a hostess special last Fall.  I colored this with my Blendies.

Timber Valentine

I have another card to show you today where I used some more of the MPP kit from Christmas 2013.  By the way did you know that once you subscribe to MPP you have the privilege of purchasing extra items from certain kits when available.  The items available do not include the stamp set and ink, but the other items in the kit.  It really is another great reason to subscribe to MPP.

I once again used the Wood You Be Mine stamp set.  I really like those stripes, don't you?

Brooke came over today and we crafted the afternoon away.  It was so much fun.  I can't tell you how much I enjoy the fact that she's finding the time to do some crafting with me.  She was nine years old when I joined Stampin'Up! and she absolutely loved it and of course like all kids when she became a teenager and then a college student there just wasn't time for it, but now it just makes this mom so happy to create with her again.  She is very talented and has an eye for things.  Love her to pieces. 

 This is the cover of her This & That book.  She used some of the old retired colors because they still are some of her favorites.  Here is the cover of mine.  I love putting stuff in my This & That book.  All those little things we save, but don't know where to put them.........this book works perfectly for that.

Well it's almost supper time.  My hubby has been cutting and hauling wood all afternoon and I just heard him pull in with the last load for today.  I made Chicken and Dumplings for supper.  It's the same recipe I shared awhile back.  So good and so easy to make.  The chicken cooked all day in the slow cooker and I just added the dumplings a little bit ago.  Yum!

A Little Valentine Basket

We made it to Saturday.  Seems like it's been an unusually long tough week or maybe I'm just feeling my age this week.  Not sure exactly what it is, but I keep trudging along.  Sorry, I don't mean to be a downer.  I guess I've just run into too many joy suckers this week.  My bad for letting that get to me.  I have been spending time in the stamp room which is a joy.  I truly love what I do.  I was reminded of that this morning when I listened to the keynote speaker from Stampin'Up!'s leadership seminar on a live stream.  His talk really bought back lots of memories as to why I do what I do and how much I love to share it.  It's even one of the reasons that I blog.  I don't get a lot of comments and I don't necessarily get a lot of sales because of my posts here, but I get that overwhelming satisfaction of doing what I love and then sharing what I love.  He used the Stampin'Up! statement of the heart in his presentation.  It reads as follows............

"To love what we do and share what we

love, as we help others enjoy creativity

and worthwhile accomplishments....

in this we make a difference."

This really is why I love sharing my love of stamping and creating.  I've loved creating with paper from as early as I can remember and I hope to love it as long as I can remember and beyond.  You're never too old or too young to love paper crafting.  I honestly believe there would be a lot of healthier and happier older people if they would just learn to really learn to love something and share it with others.

Ok, enough of my little rant for today. *grin*  I want to share with you what I made yesterday.  I had just purchased one of the newest Big Shot dies this week from the Occasions Catalog.  It's called the Berry Basket Bigz L Die (137366 $37.95).  It makes the most adorable little basket.  I can see using this basket for so many occasions.

I used Strawberry Slush cardstock on the inside and then some of the Back to Black DSP on the outside.  You really don't have to do both, but I was just having fun creating so I thought why not?  Then I had some chocolate candy bars that had a Santa wrapping on them and I remove that and wrapped the DSP around the gold foil that the candy was wrapped in.  I then added a punched heart that had been stamped with one of the hearts from the Hello Life stamp set.  (127136 $24.95)
