What's Happening!

Hi my friends!  Well it's mid August already.  Can you believe it?  Summer seems to be going by so fast.  I love Fall, but I really despise it's friend Winter so I like to hold onto summer as long as I can, even if it's only in my mind.  LOL!

I wanted to catch up with you today on a few of the things that are on my schedule right now.

  1. There's new stuff in the Clearance Rack in my store.  Lots of great deals.  Check them out here. CLEARANCE RACK
  2. If you earned bonus coupons for your orders that you placed in July, those coupon codes must be used by August 31.
  3. Hostess Code for August is DKX9UZ3G.  Please use this code if you area ordering from my store at www.reneeond.stampinup.net during the month of August. Thank you!
  4. My August class will take place on August 29 @ 6:00 pm.  Here is the invite that was posted on Facebook for those who aren't on Facebook. Come get a head start on some of those upcoming Fall and Winter cards you will be needing. We will have fun using new stamps and accessories. Please bring your usual kit that should include scissors, adhesives and a bone folder. The cost of class, which includes all projects, a light supper and dessert is only $20 and is payable in advance. If you pay the night of class the price is $25. If you pay in advance and cannot make the class you will still receive all materials (except stamps and ink) and if you want you can set up another time with me to use the inks and stamps. This helps me plan for class materials and food. Thanks for your understanding. If you have questions please feel free to contact me.
  5. I will be a vendor at the Bay Shore Camp DIY weekend October 13-15.  Come join me.  You can find out more info by visiting their website www.bayshorecamp.org or calling (989) 883-2501
Here is a Christmas card I created recently.  Do you see what framelit was used from a recent class?  Those framelits really are very versatile, aren't they?

Well I hope this has helped you know a little more about what will be happening.  I apologize for not getting this out last week.  I had full intentions of doing so and then our assistant pastor and his wife's baby was still born at almost full term.  It's been such a hard thing and my heart just breaks for them.  Last week did not go as planned because of the funeral and it was also VBS week at church.  Thanks for your understanding and if you would, please keep them in your prayers.  This is such a difficult time for them and their respected families.

Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,
Renee

“OSAT Blog Hop - Kids”

Hi there blog hoppers!!!  Can you believe we are already into August?  I hate how fast summer goes.  I could only wish that winter went as fast.  I'm still trying to enjoy the last month of summer as much as I can.  I really hate when stores first bring out the school supplies.   July is way to early in my opinion.  Even though I no longer have kids in school, I still don't like the thoughts of carefree summer days coming to an end.  I do like school supplies though and can't help but pick up a few things here and there.  I'm still a kid at heart.  Speaking of kids that is our theme this month for the OSAT blog hop.  I decided to go with the school theme for my projects this month.  Let's get started shall we?

This card came together rather quickly as soon as I figured out what I wanted to make.  I wanted to try out the new Pinewood Planks embossing folder that came on Monday.  It really is an awesome folder and will be good for adding texture to many projects.  I used the Sweet and Sassy Framelits to make the time of my pencil.  Picture and upside down heart if you will.  I used the 1-3/4" circle punch to make the eraser and then trimmed it straight on the sides to make it even with the pencil shaft.  I used a piece of Silver Foil paper and made the score lines with my Stampin' Trimmer.  I then finished it off with the words from the Happy Celebrations.  Since I don't have any real "kid" type DSP I decided to stamp the background of the card with pieces from the Bike Ride set.  This set is so cute!!!  I randomly stamped it with Bermuda Bay ink and then layered onto a Basic Black card base.

For my 3D project I pulled some pencils from my pencil stash, put them in a celllo bag and added a topper.  This time I stamped the same pieces onto Very Vanilla cardstock and used the matching framelits to cut them out. Tied a piece of the Double Stitched Cherry Cobbler ribbon and then stamped the year with the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.  Oh and the piece of Crushed Curry was ran through the same embossing folder as well.  I stamped first of course. 😏  Well ok I did on my second piece.  LOL!
