Festive Flurry Snowflake Card

I know it's been a few days again since I posted.  Here's an update on my health.  I know exciting, but I know some of you would like to know.  I see the urologist on Oct. 22 so until then I won't know anything else and hopefully I remain infection free until then.  My bladder is not emptying completely according to all the tests I've had so far so we move on to a specialist.  I really covet your prayers during this time.

Anyway onto the stamping and the reason you are here.  I made this card using the leftover pieces I had from making the ornamnet that I posted awhile back.

This card is really sparkly with using the Silver Glimmer Paper.  Do you like the merry banner on the bottom.  That is from the Label Card Thinlits Die set.  You can view this on the leftside of my blog.  It's rather different because it has fold lines that allow this banner to be mor dimensional.  I think the Delicate Designs embossing folder really finished it off since this folder almost looks like snowflakes.  The color used here was Marina Mist.

Now I just want to share a couple of cards that I received recently from friends who have taken the time to wish me well.  Thanks so much Pam and Wendy.  These cards have really brightened my day.

This one was made by Pam.

This one by Wendy

Thanks again ladies and thanks again to those of you who have stopped by.

Non-traditonal Christmas Card

Just a short post this morning.  I'm headed out to spend the day with my two sisters and my oldest daughter.  We are headed to IKEA and also to the Cheesecake Factory.  This is the first Cheesecake Factory in Michigan and we've been waiting a long time.  We live in the middle of nowhere so we are traveling a couple of hours to get there and I'm not ready so I best hurry before they come pick me up.

Here is a non-traditional Christmas card for you today.

Blessings and have a great day!

Winner of the Blog Candy

I know I was suppose to have announced the winner last Friday, but I got some unexpected news from the doctor on Friday and I am being sent to a specialist for further testing.  Not the news I had hoped for.  So needless to say I was pretty depressed on Friday and I didn't even darken the door of my stamp room until this morning.  I also came down with a sore throat and cough on the weekend as well.  Yeah, I'm lucky like that.  LOL!  Anyway it is back to work today, at least partially.

The winner of the Snowglobe stamp is.........Wanda G.  Wanda you have 24 hrs to contact me with your address of where to send your stamp and thanks for being a faithful blog reader.  I sure appreciate it.  Thanks to everyone else who left a comment.  I appreciate you all.  I don't get a lot of comments on my blog, but I know I get a lot of hits so someone is enjoying my blog and that in and of itself makes me happy.

I also want Becky Hughey, Wendy Zick, Joni Reimann and Chris McCarthy to know that I haven't forgotten about the little treat I promised you for the little contest I had on my Facebook page. I will be working on those this week.  If you haven't liked my Facebook page, feel free to do so.  You can find it here www.facebook.com/stampinwithrenee.

Here is today's share.....

This was a gift card that was a make and take at my last workshop.  I got the idea from fellow demonstrator Jacki Topa.  I think this has to be one of the best gift card holders ever and I love that you get to use the Envelope Punch Board to make it.  Here are a few other pictures to see how it works.

The gift card holder part pulls up as you open the card.  So cute!  Thanks Jackie for the inspiration.

Well that is it for now.  Have a great day!
Blessings,
Renee

Festive Flurry Ornament

Here's the ornament I made that is like the one in the Holiday catalog.  It took me a little time to figure out (yeah probably should have watched SU's video before attempting it), but I got it.  Remember if all else fails, try the instructions.  LOL!  Would you like to learn to make these?  I will be offering this in an upcoming class.  I should have my class schedule out by the weekend.  I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I was sort of waiting to see what she says before I make plans.  I'll just feel better doing it this way since I hate to set dates until I know that no more tests or anything else is in my near future.

Have a great evening and don't forget to leave a comment on my 800th post to be entered in the drawing for the Snowglobe single stamp.  I will draw a winner tomorrow.

Renee

Leftovers and Tomatoes

It's been a long day today, but I did want to get a post in.  I canned 18 qts. of tomato juice today.   I don't think my energy level is back to where is should be after being sick so I am one tuckered out gal tonight.

Here are a couple of cards I made using up some of My Paper Pumpkin leftover pieces.  I just can't let anything go to waist.  I feel like I need to use every last piece or maybe it's that I just like to challenge myself to see what I can come up with when using limited supplies.  Anyhoo, here are the cards.

That's all for now.  Have a good evening.
Blessings,
Renee

PS Don't forget to leave a comment on this POST to have a chance at winning a free Single Stamp.

Snowflake Window Card

I stand corrected in my post yesterday.  It's been almost 6 yrs I've been blogging and that does bring my average down, but I'm hoping by the end of the year that my average will be up or at least that is my goal.  Thanks to my sister for pointing that out.  Ya gotta love sisters. *wink*  Don't forget to leave a comment on yesterday's post to be eligible to win the free stamp Snowglobe.

Today I want to share a Christmas card with you.  With the way our weather changed today it is a good reminder that winter is not far off.  The weatherman said tonight that is was good there was no moisture in the air or we could be talking snow for tonight.  Yuck!  It was in the 90's on Tuesday and in the 50's today.  Quite the shock to say the least.

I used our awesome framelits to make my circles and to cut out the snowflake.  This card has a lot of sparkle.  I hope you enjoyed it.

Blessings,
Renee

Wow! This is my 800th post!

I was surprised this morning when I realized this will be my 800th post.  I started my blog on Oct 3, 2007.  That's almost 5 years ago.  I've averaged about 3 posts a week.  Not too bad, I guess.  I enjoy doing my blog, it just seems that I'm not very good at managing my time and getting posts up.  I've really been working hard on that as of late, but it seems my health issues have sort of had to take center stage.  Had some tests yesterday and hopefully they will show what is going on and then we can move onto a treatment.  Being sick is so hard on a person like me who wants to be busy and enjoying life, but when you don't feel good it is really hard.  When I don't feel like stamping then I know I'm not in a good place.  Trusting the Lord to see me through this time and onto some better health.

So since this is my 800th post I'll share a few things with you today.  Here is the hostess gift that I told you about yesterday.

This was so fun and quick to make.  I picked up the candle at the Dollar General uptown, took off the label and added the Halloween Washi Tape.  I stamped the Trick or Treat from the Tags 4 You set.  To get the two colors...Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black I used my Stampin'Write markers.  The black piece behind it is a framelit from the Apothacary Accents.  Tied some Pumpkin Pie 1/8" ribbon and it was done.  I hope they will have some of these candles in Christmas colors because I think these will make cute little inexpensive gifts.

Finally the Big Shot Platform is available again.  Due to it's popularity when the catalog went live, the Platform was sold out.  Stampin'Up! had ordered enough to last 12 weeks and they ended up selling out in 3 weeks.  It is an awesome product and as of today you can once again place an order for it.  You can order from my online store HERE or give me a shout and I can order it for you.  I will be closing an order in the next couple of days so just let me know if you'd like to place an order.  For those of you wanting to know, I've been told this platform will work in the Cuttlebug.  I'm not sure of the sandwich you'd use, but it is small enough to fit.
The Best of 25 Years stamp set has been released as well.  It is called the best of Autumn.

You can see all the details HERE.

I made this card using up some scraps I had on my work space.  The background on this card was made using painters tape.  Tear off a piece of tape, lay it on your ink pad, rub your finger over it, pick up the tape and lay it on your cardstock, rub and lift.  It's fun to see what color combos you can come up with.

So now that you've made it to the end, I've got a little surprise.  I'm going to give away a little blog candy since this is my 800th post.

To be entered to win this stamp just leave a comment and tell me how long you've been following my blog and also one of the following:
1. Have you ever hosted a party with me?
2. If you'd like to be a hostess and earn free merchandise?
3. How often do you visit my blog?
4. Do you subscribe to my blog?
You only need to answer one, but please feel free to answer more if you so choose.  It won't increase your chances of winning, but it will let me know who I am reaching with my blog.  Thanks so much!  I will draw the winner on September 19th.  Good Luck!

Blessings,
Renee

A Little Fall Hi

Well today doesn't actually feel like Fall here in the Thumb of Michigan.  It is in the 90's today and 80's are predicted for tomorrow and Friday in the 60's.  That's Michigan.  Well I have a Fall card for you today none the less.
Doesn't this look all warm and cozy?  I used the Sweater Weather DSP from the Holiday catalog, the Houndstooth Embossing Folder and the stamp set Gently Falling.  Colors are Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Crushed Curry.  The little die cut hi is from the new Thinlits Card die.  The picture here makes it look really bright, but it's not.  It is very warm Fall colors.

I have a workshop tonight here at my house.  My good friend Joni is the hostess and I made her a really cute hostess gift, but I can't show you yet because I know she reads my blog and I don't want to spoil the surprise, so I will share tomorrow.  Have a good evening!

Blessings,
Renee

Another File Folder Card

Yes, I just may find myself getting addicted to this new Envelope Punch Board.  It is so easy to use that a person just doesn't want to stop with it.  If you haven't ordered one yet you really should because it could give you entertainment for hours just making envelopes or these cool file folder cards.  If you'd like to order, my friend Joni is hosting a party this next Tuesday, September 10 at my house @ 6:30.  Can't make it, but would still like to order?  Just use this hostess code BUVTDGB9 and Joni will receive the hostess credit and your order will be shipped direct to you.  Remember though if you place a $150 order before tax and shipping you can be a hostess and receive hostess awards and no code is required.  You can place your order by clicking HERE and then click on the SHOP NOW button in the top right corner.

Here is the card I made today for a sweet lady who has gone through a lot of problems with her foot and finally recently they did a partial amputation.  Her spirit amazes me.  Not sure I could be so positive going through such an ordeal and she has 6 kids as well.  She is one amazing lady.  Hope this card brightens her day.

Stamp set/s:  Tag It (this years Ronald McDonald House set),ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers

File Folder Card

It's hump day!  How has your day been?  I got back into the stamping room a little more today and I'm trying to get back into a routine.  Had fun making today's card.

This is what is called a File Folder Card.  I used the new Stampin'Up! Envelope Punch Board to make it.

Stampin'Up! just released this product on September 1 and it is amazing.  I absolutely love it.  It makes the best envelopes and as you can see above it makes a neat card as well.  It actually makes 66 different sizes of envelopes.

Would you like to see this tool in person?  Why not book a workshop and I'll be happy to show you or even set up a one on one with you.

Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,
Renee

RIP my friend

As I had said the other day I've been busy getting ready for our garage sale that we had this past weekend so I haven't had a lot of time to stamp. I had intended to get something posted early Thursday morning, but I received some very sad news that morning. My dear childhood/high school friend passed away after putting up a very tough fight against Multiple Myeloma for the last year and a half. I've known Eric since I was 5 years old. His wife is also one of my dear sweet friends whom I'm known for over 30 years. My heart is breaking, but I know he is finally at real rest and that the angels who have surrounded him on this journey are now with him in heaven. RIP my dear friend Eric. You will be missed by so many, but I hope you now know  the mighty impact you have had on our lives and the lives of our community. Deb you have shared so freely every step of your journey and have changed many lives because of your willingness to share. May I never take one day for granted and may you, Eric and your love for one another continue to influence marriages for a long time. Love doesn't come along like that every day. I love you both my friends. See you on the other side one day Eric. Deb, I'm always here for you. May love and peace surround you and Karlee and all your families in the most difficult days ahead. This song is in tribute to you all.

Blessings my stampin' friends and as Eric would say…. Live Life to the Fullest!

Renee
