Quick Goodies to Share

I'm typing this on Wednesday night so it will post tomorrow since I will be at the doctor with my dad so it's just going to be a quick post here.  These are a couple of the little things I gave away at my open house last month.
Everyone got one of these little Hershey Nugget holders.  I know it looks big in the picture, but it actually is very small.  Just the size of a nugget.  Want to know how I made it?  Book a  party and we can make these for a make and take.  Contact me and we'll set the date.

This little package was in a little wooden basket and was given to those who booked a party that night.  I found these marshmellows at Walmart and couldn't resist.  They are like Peeps.  Want one?  I still have a couple left if you'd like to book a party.

Well that's all for now and hopefully the next time I will not only have an awesome project to share with you, but also good news about my dad.

Blessings,
Renee

Kindness Makes a Difference

Well I've had the page up on my computer to get to this post and it just didn't happen yesterday.  I had a fun stamping class last night so the day was busy doing last minute things.  The ladies had a great time at the class and we had a lot of laughs.  It's always good to get together with friends, have fun and laugh.  It really does a body good or is that milk that does that?  LOL!!!  As you know with the health issues of my family members life can get me down, but I'm thankful for the kindness of my friends.  You are not just my customers or people who stop by my blog now and then, I consider you friends and am so grateful for you.  Just one more note and then onto the stamping part.  Frank and I will be taking my daddy to William Beaumont Medical Center tomorrow to find out what his course of treatment will be for this stomach cancer.  We were happy to find out this was the place his doctor was sending him since this is the same place Frank went 3 yrs. ago when he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.  They are a good team of doctors and we know he will be in good hands.  We have heard from others as well  what a good doctor, Dr. Jury is.  We are grateful.

Now onto the stamping part.  Here are the cards that the ladies made last night in my Paper Piercing class.
Sorry I didn't take pictures of them up close.  Maybe I can still do that and share them later, but for now here they are.  We used the NEW Paper Piercing tool, mat and templates on all 4 cards.  If you have specific questions please feel free to comment here and I will try and answer them.  You can order everything to make these cards from my stampin' store at http://www.reneeond.stampinup.net/

And so for those who attended the class and want to see something different today here is a card for you.

This card was made using the Everything Eleanor set and the Designer Frames Embossing Folders.  I had the piece already embossed from some other idea I'd had and decided to put it to use and this is what I came up with.  I always think some of my best cards come from bits and pieces laying on my workspace.

Thanks once again for stopping by and please feel free to leave me a comment.  Seems like I'm getting so many spam comments on my blog, it would actually be nice to hear from those who really do visit my blog.

Blessings,
Renee

From My Heart

Wow what a week it has been!  So much going on and my mind is on overload to say the least.  As I had shared on Monday we started out the week having trouble with our well....no water pressure.  It's been so dry and the farmer near our place has been running his irrigation well so needless to say we are pretty sure that is the cause of our problem.  We had asked him if he could turn it off for 24 hrs so we could really see if that's the problem, but he refused so we are having a plumber come out tomorrow to pull the pump and see how low the water is.  Hopefully we can just put down more pipe and not have to drill a new well.  No money in the budget for either, but having to drill a new well would be worse.  Tuesday I got a call from my dad's doctor wanting to see us right away that morning.  A pathology report came back on his scopes he had and they found cancer in his lower stomach.  This was so not what we were expecting and it has hit us pretty hard.  On the upside they feel that it has been caught early.  He has had no symptoms except for some anemia.  His doctor jumped on that where most would have just given iron pills and we are so thankful for that.  He will be going to the University of Michigan hospital for more testing and treatment.  We are keeping positive and trusting the Lord that he can make a complete recovery from this.  Then yesterday our doggie wasn't feeling well and I had to make a trip to the vet with her.  So yeah kind of mentally exhausting.

Here it is Thursday and I've not gotten much accomplished around home or with my stamping business, but I do have something to share with you.

I used the new awesome Natural Composition Specialty paper on this one.  This paper is like paper bag in color and has a glossy embossed pattern on it.  I took ink and brayered over it and this is what I got.  It really makes the embossing pop.  Here is what I used:
Stamps: From My Heart
Paper: Primrose Petals, Twitterpated DSP, Naturals Ivory, Natural Composition Specialty
Ink: Primrose Petals, Early Espresso
Other: Stampin' sponges, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Labels Collection Framelits, Adhesive backed pearls, Paper Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Brayer, Dimensionals

All these items can be ordered from my stampin' store at http://www.reneeond.stampinup.net/ or by contacting me directly.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings and for stopping by.
Blessings,
Renee

Monday!

Yes, today was Monday!  I don't know about you, but it Mondays never use to bother me much, but lately they have been one thing after another.  Seems like everything breaks loose on Monday and this Monday was no exception.  My hubby went to put some water in our swimming pool this morning, since it's been so hot and dry we've had to add water more than usual.  Not a lot mind you, but some every week.  Well this morning when he turned on the spout.........nothing, nada, no water!!!  He came in the house and not a lot of water pressure, went back out and there was finally water, but we've been having these type of problems for almost 2 weeks.  It has been very dry with little to no rain and on top of that the farmer down the road has been running his irrigation pumps which doesn't help the water situation for the neighboring wells.  Farmers have crop insurance if they're crops fail, but we don't have insurance if our well goes dry and we certainly don't have the money for a new one so we are praying and hoping that this is only a temporary thing and we aren't forced to doing anything drastic like dig a new well or even have to add pipe.  None of which will be cheap.  So instead of worrying about it I took off with my sister and my youngest daughter and rode along to the city with them.  Nice day for a drive, but sure glad for air conditioning. *Ü*

So what does this all have to do with stamping and paper crafting you ask?  I'm getting to that part.  I mentioned it was so dry, well here is a flower that doesn't need any watering.  LOL!

This is a flower like on page 70 of this years catalog.  Now my idea isn't fully finished and I will try and get to that tomorrow if I can, but here is the start.  But not to leave you without a finished project............

I made this card using the fun new set Reason to Smile.  This set is only available for the month of July for $5 and only with a $50 purchase before tax and shipping.  You won't want to miss out on this fun 2-step stamping set.  What I used:
Stamp sets: Reason to Smile, Itty Bitty Banners
Paper: Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Whisper White, Primrose Petals
Ink: Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Certainly Celery and Gumball Green Markers
Other:  Primrose Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, Apothcary Accents Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder

A Little Catching Up

Once again I've gotten behind in blogging.  It just seems like it gets put on the back burner these days.  I've been taking several family members to doctor appointments on a regular basis, in fact I had 3 appointments last week and I have another 2 this next week.  I hope it slows down after that.  Here's a little funny.....well it's kind of funny.  When I had my aunt into ER on Monday the doctor came in and the first thing he says to me is don't I know you?  Yeah the ER has been one of my hangout places the last few months.  Then on Tuesday my dad had a colonoscopy and the OR nurse asked me if I worked there, meaning the hospital because she said I looked so familiar.  Yeah out-patient surgery has been another one of my hangouts as well.  Now if I could just get them to put me on payroll.  LOL!

Anyway I thought I'd share a couple of things I've made in the last few weeks and hopefully I can get back to posting on a regular basis again.

This was really a fun project to make.  In fact it was so fun I went and helped my upline Amy make some for a few thank you's she needed to make.  I've asked her to take a picture so I can share those so I'll have to remind her she needs to get me that picture.  Hint, hint Amy! ;)

I used lots of new products on these.  Here's a list:
Stamp set: From the Heart
Paper: Ridinghood Red, Certainly Celery, Twitterpatted DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Ridinghood Red
Other: Delicate Designs embossing folders, Delicate Doilies Sizzlits, 2 3/8" scallop circle punch, 5/8" Organza Ribbon, 1/2" Scallop Dotted Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler, 1 3/4" scallop circle

And since it's been so long since I posted here is another card I made awhile back.

This card was actually made with pieces I had laying around on my work area and I wanted to use them up.
Here's what was used:
Stamp set: Language of Friendship, Tiny Tags
Ink: Early Espresso, Baja Breeze
Paper: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, First Edition DSP, Very Vanilla
Other: Lattice Bigz die, Labels Collection Framelits, Bird Bulider Punch. Jewelry Tag Punch, Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Vintage Trinkets, Adhesive Backed Pearls

Wow that's a lot of typing for one post after not having posted in awhile.  *grin*

Hope you've enjoyed it and stop back again.
Blessings,
Renee
