Here’s a quick card I made the other day before work.  Doing something like that is not a norm for me because I always think I want a lot of time to stamp, but sometimes that's not possible so why not take just a little time?  I just had to try these new dies I got.  Even though they are intricate it cut out like “butah “ and it looked so pretty.  I used a piece of Cherry Cobbler that was laying on my work space and after it was cut I thought of a Christmas card.  Hey why not? Just because the die set is called Springtime Impressions I think this worked for a Christmas card.  It was very simple and quick to make.  I really liked how it turned out.  What do you think?  Leave me a comment below.  The Merry Christmas was from the Snowflakes Sentiments stamp set.  Seems I've really been mixing up my sets lately and that's OK!  Stampin'Up! sets are really so versatile.

Home Decor SU Style July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Home Decor SU Style July Blog Hop!!! This is my first hop with this group and I'm super excited to be hopping with these awesome stampers.  I love making home decor projects so I was so happy to get in this month.

Frames are something I really love in general and I love when I can include some stamping along with them.  I purchased this frame at Michael's and of course had a coupon for it.  I've had it for a little while so I thought this was a great time to finally make something with it.  So without delay........

I started out using the Love You to Pieces bundle.  This bundle just really popped out at me when I saw it because I had been telling my husband that now that our girls are out on their own and we don't get to see them everyday, that me heart always feels like a piece is missing.  Our oldest daughter Lindsay (bottom photo) lives almost three hours away from us now, so we don't see her very often and the youngest just bought her first house in our local town, and while I see her several times a week because I work with her three days a week, it's just not the same.  The house is empty and our kids have been our world.  I miss them being little and I miss the sounds of feet going up the stairs at night.  I just miss the four of us being together.  May be a little corny to some, but being a mom is the best job I ever had.  Love my girls more than they can understand at this point since neither of them have children yet, but one day they will totally get it.

Here is the little puzzle that the dies cut out.  You can see below where I put all the supplies, that the puzzle is a one piece die that cuts into 16 pieces.  I cut the puzzle out of our Thick Whisper White to give it a little more stability since our regular Whisper White is so much thinner.  I left the paper in the die and flipped it over to apply the Snail Adhesive and then flipped it back over onto the Coastal Cabana layer of cardstock.  I found that to be super easy so that I didn't have to try and put the puzzle together and find I didn't have it on the layer evenly.  I stamped words from the Love You to Pieces stamp set, but then I also used words from other stamp sets that I thought fit the theme of my project.
Here is the list of those since they are not listed at the end of this post because I used so many sets.
Smile- Calligraphy Essentials
Miss You - Hand Delivered (current hostess set)
I love You - Flourishing Phrases
You're Sweet - Seasonal Charms
Wild About You - A Little Wild
Adorable You - Hedgehugs

These are other accent pieces from the stamp set and the dies.  To finish it off I added the Metallic Silver Pearls to the flowers.  I then of course had to use some of our yummy ribbons we have.

I thought off setting the pictures on the layers really mad it pop as opposed to keeping them perfectly layered and it gave me more room to stamp the flowers and of course add more of the Metallic Silver Pearls as well.  I can actually switch these pieces out whenever I want because they are only attached in the frame by the clips that came with the frame.  I'm really happy how this turned out and I hope you've enjoyed your stop here on the hop. Please continue on to Sandra Roberts blog.  You can find the list below.

Blessings,
Renee

OSAT Blog Hop Creature Comforts

Hello stamping friends!  Can you believe it's July already?  I like to hang onto the tail of summer and try to keep it from flying away so fast.  I like to hang onto every bit of it.  We don't do a lot of traveling period and well, we do even less in the middle of summer since hubby works for John Deere and that means planting and harvest.  So, when I looked at the theme of the blog hop this month my mind maybe went to a different place than most, although I think I combined it rather well.  Someone in the group asked what it was, and the response was animals.  Hmmm???? What can I do with that and then I thought of the adorable kitty in the Sitting Here stamp set.  Now what to do with that kitty and I instantly thought of the new bundle I had purchased before the last catalog ended.  It's the At Home with You set.  Creature comforts means home to me.  I love my home.  I'm comfortable in my home, it holds lots of memories and quite frankly it's where I like to be with my family and of course our kitty is part of that family and brings me comfort when he's curled up on my lap.  So hence the "creature comforts" card was born. LOL!

There is a lot of detail to my card and I had so much fun making it.  It's probably not a card I would make 20 of, but it's a special card I would send to a very special person.  I will list all the supplies used on the bottom of this post.  Coloring was done with the Stampin' Write markers and surprisingly enough I discovered a stamp in the Sitting Here set that I didn't realize was in there.  I've used this stamp set quite a few times and every time I've used it, I always felt like my images were floating in the air.  They needed to be grounded.  Well low and behold there is a stamp for that.  The little sketchy lines that you will find under the words in this stamp set are lines to us to ground your images.  Of course, I didn't discover that until my card was almost done and I had to figure out a way to use it and get it in there so it looked right.  You'd never know that the floor of the porch was added at the very end of making this card.  I used some of my paper ingenuity and got it in there and I was happy.  Don't you just love the wreath?  I could have stamped one and die cut it out, but then I thought about those little 3D wreaths I bought last year and hadn't used.  I ended up cutting the wreath and only using half of it because using the whole thing made it seem too bulky.  I cut it and hot glued the ends together and also used some hot glue to adhere the bow.

Then came the 3D project......what to do?  My 3D is usually where my inspiration starts and the card comes after.  I love the words from the At Home with You set so I decided to start with that and it was crying out to be cut with an oval framelit of some sort.  I love layering the framlits using the stitched ones, the plain ones and the scalloped edged ones as well.  I decided to turn this into a tag to attach to one of our adorable pizza boxes.  I'm still waiting on a lot of my DSP order from the July special so I went with what I had.  I used the Share What You Love DSP and used one of the more neutral sides and combined it with the Cherry Cobbler even though the DSP does not have that color in it.  I think it worked well.  That's what I love about SU!  Our products coordinate so well together.  I tied it shut with the 1/4" Double-Stitched Cherry Cobbler ribbon. I could put a little gift card of some sort in this box and give this to my hubby because after all, he is the one that makes me feel at home no matter where we are.

I hope you've enjoyed my projects and will continue on the hop using the list below.

Blessings,
Renee
