"OSAT Blog Hop - Shabby Chic"

Welcome to the OSAT Shabby Chic blog hop!!!  You have probably come her by way of Sara Levin.  Sara always has some WOW projects and this month is no exception.  I will admit that I'm not one who thinks up and plans my projects months or even weeks in advance.   I know the theme and keep that in mind, but I have to say I work best on the fly and under pressure.  I've just come to learn that about myself.  We all work in different ways and that's fine....nothing wrong with that.  I had thought maybe I would do a flower thing since when I think of shabby chic that's where my mind goes.  Well when I sat down I decided I wanted to use the new fruit set in the SU catalog called Fresh Fruit so I took it from there.  Here are my projects.  (yes, I did an extra one.  I just couldn't stop myself)

I started with my card and wanted to use the pear as my focal piece.  I inked it up in what else? Pear Pizzazz and then sponged a little Peekaboo Peach around the edge.  I stamped off first before stamping. I fussy cut the pear and the leaves out and layered on Very Vanilla and Peekaboo Peach using the NEW Oval framelits.  I love having so many sizes and also having scallop layers as well. Behind the focal piece I added have a paper doily.  On the bottom of the card I used some our NEW burlap ribbon and some gold 1/8" ribbon and some linen thread.  To finish it off I stamped Sweet Friend using the set Thoughtful Banners and punched it out with the NEW Classic Label punch and then added an In Color heart Enamel Dot.  I will list below all the products used on all the projects.  All product can be purchased in my store.

My 3D project in a little bag made with the Mini Treat BagThinlits and the Fruit Stand DSP.  I incorporated more of the same elements on the bag and added a few extras as well. I just couldn't resist using the Flourish Thinlits and added a bit of Peekaboo Peach lacy looking trim.  The ENJOY comes with the Mini Treat Bag thinlits a well.  The tag was tied on with some more linen thread.  The NEW 2" x 8" cello bags are so cute.  I was sad when they retired the 1" ones, but in all honesty the 2" ones are better.  You can fit more candy in them of course!  I had some Jolly Ranchers so that is what I put in the bag and tied with some more burlap ribbon and a bit of retired lace trim.

After the bag was done I had the idea to use the little sliver leftover pieces to make stripes on the Popcorn Box die.....hence the third project.  I couldn't stand to see those little pieces go to waste and they were perfect for the die to cut.  It may be hard to see, but the die that cuts the strips is a tiny bit tappered at the end so it's all proportioned.  I love that little touch!  I flipped the DSP over and used the other side opposite of the pears.  I again used burlap ribbon, retired lace trim and filled the box with Jolly Ranchers. The box was stamped with the Timeless Textures thus keeping with the Shabby Chic theme.

These were such fun projects to create and I hope you've enjoyed them as well.

You can find the next amazing projects on the amazing Maria Willis' blog

Thanks so much for taking the hop!
Blessings,
Renee

Terrific projects! Love the gift bag and popcorn box as well. You did a nice job getting shabby chic projects out of the fruit set.
