OSAT Falling for Farmhouse Blog Hop

Welcome to the OSAT monthly blog hop! This month our theme is Falling for Farmhouse. Well, as some of you may know I live in an old farmhouse in what we call "The Thumb" of Michigan. So farmhouse is my thing. I absolutely love my farmhouse. We've done many things to this house in the last 38 years, but we've always stuck with the farmhouse vibe. So when I saw the theme of this month's hop, I instandtly thought of our Country Woods DSP and that is the direction I went in. I then thought of a stamp set I hadn't used yet and that is the Trusty Tools stamp set and dies. You see we are remodling our upstairs bathroom and I thought what better way than to kill many birds with one stone, so to speak, than to cover the farmhouse theme, tell you something about my farmhouse and to use a set that hadn't seen ink yet. So here we go.

I used one of my new favorite colors, Summer Splash because that is the accent color I’m using in the bathroom. The directions for this card are pretty simple.  I stamped, colored and cut out my focal pieces and popped the tape measure up on dimensionals as well as the sentiment.  Of course I stamped the inside of the card as well. I used the sentiment from the Rustic Crate set because, well, good things take time.  This project is not moving too fast, but I’m reminding myself that good things do take time.

Since I was gone all day yesterday and was running short on time I decided to make just a little gift card and quite honestly, I think I was a little tired by this time. My layers on this are a little crooked (insert head shake here LOL!), but I love the sunflowers from the Cutest Cows stamp set and what is more farmhouse than sunflowers!?!?!  Sunflowers remind me of my BFF Cathy who passed away a week before Christmas last year.  She was indeed a special lady and I miss her everyday and she’s always in my thoughts,

I used Stampin’ Blends to color in the flowers that I stamped directly onto the DSP.  How simple is that?  I again used the for you sentiment from the Rustic Crate stamp set.  Are you seeing how versatile this stamp set is?  I’ve used it in last month’s hop as well as my last couple blog posts.  I think you really need this set.  Well thanks for hanging with me and all my ramblings.  Yes, I know I have that problem, but I’m not thinking it’s going away anytime too soon.  LOL!
Blessings,
Renee
