Washi Flower Pot

Several weeks ago a dear sweet friend sent us an adorable little flower arrangement with condolences for the passing of Frank's mom.  It was so cute and very thoughtful.  Thanks Cathy!

It was a tiny little clay post, but was a little different shaped than the usual ones you see.  Well when the flowers were done I of course had to save the pot.  Then as I was browsing Pinterest the other day I saw where they had covered a picture frame with pieces of Washi Tape.  I thought that was a neat idea.  When I took the little pot to my stamp room and decided to figure out something to do with it, the Washi Tape idea came to mind......Ta da.......here is what I made.

I want to do one more thing to finish this off, but I'm waiting for an order from SU that will be here on Tuesday and I just knew I couldn't wait that long to show you.  I put a little chunk of floral foam in the bottom and then made my flowers using the Spiral Flower Big Shot Die.  The leaves are made using the Flower Flair Framelits.  I then used some thin strips of Coastal Cabana cardstock and curled them by wrapping around a tiny paint brush handle to finish off the arrangement.  When I get the other thing I need to finish it off,  I will show you the completed arrangement, but for now......

Almost forgot.  Here's  this week's specials.

Happy Blooming Birthday!

Do you mind if I whine a little?  Oh, you don't?  Good!  It is so cold....3ยบ and I'm not sure with the windchill what it is.  I can't even think about going out so I'm house bound.  The cold is so hard on a person with Fibro so I just will try and stay as warm as possible.  I'm washing clothes today.  Maybe I should hop in the dryer?  Oh no that's my hubby's thing or at least it was when he was a kid.  He put his younger brother in the dryer and turned it on.  That explains a lot about his brother.  LOL!  It's hard for me to imagine Frank doing something so silly.

Ok, whine over.  Here is my project for today.  I love the new Something Borrowed DSP from the Occasions catalog.  It's so elegant.  I paired it with some Very Vanilla and Calypso Coral.  The DSP is Sahara Sand and Whisper White so you would think that using Whisper White would be the way to go, but I actually like Very Vanilla and Whisper White together.  I love when I get to mix white and off white on a wedding cake.  Something about it makes it seem so elegant.  The flower is from the Flower Shop stamp set and the words are from Flower Patch.  The green used is Mossy Meadow.

Hope you are having a great day!
Blessings,
Renee

Double Post

I had some computer issues yesterday and didn't get a post up so today I will show you two projects.  I'm going to have to do something about this computer issue, but not sure what as of now.  Mine is slowly getting more and more outdated and it will be time to get a new one soon.  It may be time, but my bank account tells me different.  If you have any suggestions please feel to let me know.  I'm definitely open.

I just love the Coastal Cabana In Color and will be so sad when it leaves us come the end of May.  I'm trying to not be a hoarder and using it up.  OK, I probably won't use it all up and will have to hoard some.  LOL!

These second set of cards I used the same colors.....Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral and the Lotus Blossom SAB stamp set.  What do you do when you smug your card?  Well use a sequin of course.  That's what I did on the second one.  No mistakes in stamping, only room for embellishments.  LOL!  These cards will be going out to some dear people who were so kind to us during the passing of Frank's mom.

Thanks for stopping by.

Renee

Last in a Series

Well it certainly has been a different sort of Sunday.  We received freezing rain overnight so our roads were extremely slippery this morning.  We decided to not venture out to church since we drive about 20 miles to church and then church was cancelled so we stayed put.  It is now snowing and the temps have continued to drop all day.  Just another day in Michigan.

Well I have the third card in a series that I've been doing using up some MPP kits.  These were so fun to make.

Don't you just love this woodcutter from Wood You Be Mine?  The ground on this card was stamped using the Sheltering Tree stamp set.  I thought that anchored him a little and made it not look like he was in mid air. LOL!  The hearts were from the Best Day Ever SAB set and I thought the stripes in the went real well with the stripes of the card.  The words are from the retired Good Greetings stamp set that was a hostess special last Fall.  I colored this with my Blendies.

Hope you've enjoyed these cards as much I did making them.  Thanks to those who have left comments and kind words.  They are very much appreciated.

Blessings,
Renee

Timber Valentine

I have another card to show you today where I used some more of the MPP kit from Christmas 2013.  By the way did you know that once you subscribe to MPP you have the privilege of purchasing extra items from certain kits when available.  The items available do not include the stamp set and ink, but the other items in the kit.  It really is another great reason to subscribe to MPP.

I once again used the Wood You Be Mine stamp set.  I really like those stripes, don't you?

Brooke came over today and we crafted the afternoon away.  It was so much fun.  I can't tell you how much I enjoy the fact that she's finding the time to do some crafting with me.  She was nine years old when I joined Stampin'Up! and she absolutely loved it and of course like all kids when she became a teenager and then a college student there just wasn't time for it, but now it just makes this mom so happy to create with her again.  She is very talented and has an eye for things.  Love her to pieces.

This is the cover of her This & That book.  She used some of the old retired colors because they still are some of her favorites.  Here is the cover of mine.  I love putting stuff in my This & That book.  All those little things we save, but don't know where to put them.........this book works perfectly for that.

Well it's almost supper time.  My hubby has been cutting and hauling wood all afternoon and I just heard him pull in with the last load for today.  I made Chicken and Dumplings for supper.  It's the same recipe I shared awhile back.  So good and so easy to make.  The chicken cooked all day in the slow cooker and I just added the dumplings a little bit ago.  Yum!

Thanks for stopping by.

I DO LOVE YOU

Hey there friends!  Today is National Wear Red Day.  Did you wear red?  Red is one of my favorite colors so naturally it wasn't hard for me to find something red.  So as you can assume my card is red today.  It was a very easy and simple card to make.  I used some of the leftover pieces from one of the Paper Pumpkin kits to make this quick card.  I used the Stacked with Love Washi Tape and the stamp set Big On You.  I love this sentiment set because the words are so big and can be the focal point on your project.  I've also used this stamp set to create some Project Life cards.

I love to take pictures and I'm not normally one who feels real comfortable on the other side of the camera, but I thought I'd share a picture of myself since I'm wearing my red and my sister Michele colored and cut my hair this week and I felt like I was looking fairly good.  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by.

Photopolymer Stamp Set Tip

Well here I am with another video.  This time it's a tip for storing the photopolymer stamp sets.  I know this one is still rough, but I guess I just need to keep practicing.  I wish I had a wider table to use, but I only have counter tops in my office so I'm still trying to figure out what the best angle is.  It was much easier to upload this time so that is a plus.  I hope you find this tip helpful in storing and using your photopolymer stamp sets. I know it's made a big difference for me.

I was hoping to post a card today as well, but when I went to take pictures I discovered that my camera battery needed to be charged so I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow.  I will show you the treats I made using January's My Paper Pumpkin.

The MPP kits just keep getting better and better.  In this kit there was a stamp set, Real Red ink pad and they all the bags, tags, hearts, clips and twine to make 24 treats.  Sorry, but candy wasn't included. ;)  It took 3 bags of M&M's to do the 24 bags.  Now who will be worthy of such an embellished treat?  LOL!

If you are a subscriber to MPP, I've heard that the next two months kits are awesome.  Those who attended leadership conference in Orlando last week got a sneak peek and I've read nothing but good comments. Well why wouldn't I?  MPP is so much fun and like I said they keep getting better every month.  If you aren't a subscriber you still have time to subscribe and get February's kit.  Visit my page HERE and start your subscription.  You can cancel your subscription at anytime or put your subscription on hold at anytime.  If you'd like to do a prepaid subscription for 3 months you can visit my store HERE and order it and you'll also be eligible for a FREE Sale-a-bration item as well.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Well I guess that's enough jabbering for tonight.  Take care and thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,
Renee

You Made My Day, Love!

Hey there my stampin' friends!  How is your week going?  I hope you are doing well.  We received a bunch of snow on Sunday and Monday, but today the wind is calmer and the sun is shinning.   Expecting another 2"-3" more tonight and tomorrow and then more on the weekend.  I knew we were having a much too mild winter and that it wouldn't last long.

Accomplishing a few things every day that I have gotten behind in because of not feeling well.  Ordered new glasses last week and my eyes had changed quite a bit so hoping that being able to see again will help with all the headaches I've been having.  The glasses should be in by the end of the week.  Maybe my stamping will become straighter?  LOL!

Here is what I wanted to share today.  I really didn't know where I was going with this card, but I took some of the new things I have purchased as of late and went to work and this is the result.  I wanted to use the new Stacked with Love DSP stack and the Happy Hearts Embossing Folder.  I then added some Stacked with Love Washi Tape,  The tag was made using the Ornate Tag Topper Punch.  The words are from the Best Day Ever SAB stamp set.  Don't you love how the little heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack matches the Happy Hearts Embossing Folder?  I added a few of those for accents.

I made several of this card and they will be going out to those who left a comment on my Facebook page when they received their catalogs.  I know those who did, probably thought I forget, but I just had not gotten to it.  Sorry for the delay.  Did you know I had a Facebook page?  You can find me and follow me here www.facebook.com/stampinwithrenee.  When I reach 200 likes I'll be having a giveaway so go and like my page if you haven't already and tell your friends to like it as well.

Here are the specials for the week of February 2.

Those are some amazing deals this week.  Don't forget with a $50 order you get a FREE Sale-a-bration item as well.  The Hamburger Box die is an especially awesome deal and the Ornate Tag Topper is the punch I used on today's project.  Don't pass up these great deals.

Enjoy your Tuesday evening and hopefully I'll see you back here tomorrow.
Blessings,
Renee
