“OSAT Blog Hop - Very Vintage”

Hey there stamping peeps!  How is your summer going?  Mine?  Not so good, but we'll save the details for another post.  Let's just say I wasn't sure I was going to be hopping this month due to a flooded stamp room, but as I said details for another day.  It's time for the OSAT Blog Hop so let's get to hopping....................

I was excited to use some carryover products with some new products.  I think new papers and embellishments can breath new life into a stamp set that I haven't touched in awhile.  I used the stamp set Bloomin' Love for the main focal piece on my card.  I stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  I then added the Gold Metallic thread behind it, popped it up on dimensionals and layered it on Gold Foil, more dimensionals on the back of that and then onto a white doily.  The hearts were cut out using the Sweet & Sassy Framelits.  The DSP I chose was the beautiful Bundle of Love Specialty DSP.  If you loved the Falling in Love DSP that was in the last Occasions catalog, you will love this just as much.  It has different patterns, but has the same feel or vibe to it.  I just love this paper.  I chose the Soft Sky piece as my background and layered it on Gold Foil paper.  Here's a little helpful tip.  I cut a rectangle out of the Gold Foil paper before layering it so it could be saved for another project, but with it layered you would never know.  I like to do this with papers that don't come in large quantities such as the foil papers.

I used the new 3/8" Metallic-Edge Gold Ribbon to tie a bow for the bottom of the card.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment in Soft Sky and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and trimmed the one end.  I absolutely love how this card turned out and for me at least it really has a vintage feel to it.

Next was what do I do for a 3D project that could be considered vintage? Hmmmm....... Well I started to go through a tub of things I've saved of odds and ends for projects and discovered some old salt and pepper shakers that I picked up at an estate sale.  I can't resist glassware.  I made me some daisies using the Daisy Delight bundle.  This bundle has been so popular it has gone on back order twice since the catalog came out.  It is currently not available for purchase, but it will be back in stock soon so stay tuned for updates on it.
I layered two daisies together with dimensioals and then hot glued them onto a 3/4" circle punch that was attached to a piece of floral wire.  I put the new Gold Faceted Gems in the middle of the flowers.  I cut thin strips of Pear Pizzazz cardstock for the leaves.  The shaker had oval indentions on its side so I cut the smallest oval out of the Layering Ovals and adhered them to the sides with glue dots.  I attached ribbon around the top using glue dots and then a bow that I made with the same ribbon I used on the card.

I hope you've enjoyed these projects as much I did making and sharing them with you.  Please click the NEXT button to see the fabulous Marisa Gunn and thanks for stopping by.

Blessings,
Renee
