Late Weekend Post

Hi all, I just got home from visiting my sister and of course had to see if anyone had stopped by. Here's a couple more beautiful cards from friends. Peaceful Wishes is from Myrna Born and the Merry Christmas one is from Kelly Thompson. Great cards and I love the layouts. Thanks.
Don't forget about my "be a hostess" special ending at noon tomorrow. Details were in the newsletter I sent you yesterday. Hurry time is running out.

More Christmas Cards

Here's a couple more great cards. The angel one was made by Bernie Kolar. Great color combo and again some more of the Holiday Harmony DS paper. The star one was made by Becky Engelhardt and she used the Star-Studded stamp set. Great job ladies! Thanks for the cards.

Family Pictures

We had our pictures taken just before Christmas and I mean just before, last Thursday night to be exact. I thought they turned out pretty good. I have such beautiful daughters and a very handsome hubby, don't you think? That's one reason that our Christmas cards didn't get sent out on time.

Card's to Share

Hello my friends. I hope each of you had a wonderful Christmas. I know I did. It was actually very relaxing. We had dinner at my mom and dad's instead of here this year, that was nice--leave her with the mess. Just kidding mom!
I received some lovely Christmas cards this year (no I don't have mine sent--that's another story) and I will be sharing a few with you here and there over the next couple of days. Enjoy!
Blessings,
Renee

This is my sister Carin's card. Love that Purely Pomegranate. Very nice card and a great use of a non-Christmas card stamp set. This glittery one was made by my friend Vicki Affholter. Yeah! Vicki made Christmas cards. She's living proof that you should never stop trying to make your Christmas cards. You will eventually get to them. Great job Vicki. I'm very proud of you and I just love the glitter.

A Gift Certificate Idea

This is a little gift certificate idea. I'm meeting a customers DH (dear husband) later today who ordered a gift certificate. I'm going to show him these and see if he's interested in purchasing the gift certificate ensemble to go with it. What do you think he'll do? Will he spend the extra couple bucks and go for the nice presentation? Don't you think it would be more impressive if he did? I'll let you know what he decides, but I'm thinking he'd get more points for the nice presentation.

An Oh So Beautiful Card

Is this card just not gorgeous? I received this card yesterday from Ellen Roth. I was just in awe. Thank you so much Ellen. I believe this is one of the few cards I've ever received that used all SU from my customers. I asked a friend/customer (who shall remain nameless) why when she sends me a card and she doesn't use her SU stuff when I know she has a ton of it and I know she has a ton because she buys so much from me. She told me she feels she could never do it justice and knows I could do better, but she feels more comfortable sending me stuff she knows I don't have. Now that is just silly! When I saw this card and knew that this was stuff I had sold Ellen, I felt such a satisfaction that I sold something to her and she made such a lovely card with it. I don't just want people to buy from me, I want to see them create because I know how good it feels to just use your stampin' stuff. Ok, now that I've explained all that..........*grin*
Getting back to this card.................Ellen used the crack glass technique on this and she did a beautiful job. Notice the hodgepodge hardware? You mean you aren't suppose to just hoard that stuff? I feel very special that it was used on a card that was sent to me. You know how us stampers are about hoarding our embellishments. LOL So again I just have to say I'm in awe over this card. Maybe part of it is that I'm in awe of anyone who has their cards sent. Yes, yours truly does not have her cards sent. I know hard to believe right? I'm workin' on them. I have them made just not all addressed and sent. Today! That's what's on my agenda. Have a good one and again special thanks to Ellen for this most lovely card. Don't be too surprised if you see this card in my samples at a future stamp event.
Blessings,
Renee

Finnish Star Tutorial

Hey everyone! With all the snow we've been getting thought you might be interested in making some snowflakes. I guess they are called stars, but snow has been falling here, not stars. *grin*
The link to make these is HERE. Check out this site when you get time and I say time because there's lots there to look at. Making these snowflakes/stars is a great way to use up those 1/2" strips of paper we cut off when we are layering our cards. That's what this one is made with. I then sprayed it with spray adhesive and sprinkled on Dazzling Diamonds glitter. It's hanging in the window using fishing line. Sorry the picture isn't the best, but you get the idea. Take some time to make these, they really are fun!
Blessings,
Renee

Another SNOW day!

Can you believe it? Another snow day Sunday. It was just announced that Lakers and most of the other schools in the county are now officially closed tomorrow. Brooke still gets so excited over a snow day and I must admit I kinda like them too. Gives ya a reason to do just what ya want. I cleaned up my stamp room (not really what I wanted to do), but a good thing anyway. I also have been stamping a little as well.
Are you giving any gift cards this year? If you are, here's a neat idea for giving that card. Here's what you'll need--one of each--Cardstock 6 1/2" x 4" (score at 1 3/8" & 4"), Designer Paper 1 1/8" x 3 3/4" and 2 1/4" x 3 3/4" That's it. Decorate as you'd like. I got this idea from a fellow stamper (ncmorgan) over on SCS.
Don't have time to make your gift card holders? Feel free to contact me and I'll make them for you, for a small fee of course. Want to give a SU gift certificate? Give me a call and I can get that taken care of as well.
Thanks for stopping in today!
Snowy Blessings,
Renee

Good Monday Morning!

Why do my Monday's always start out not very good? I awoke this morning to the sound of a cat hacking up on my new bedroom carpet. If you have a cat you know the sound and it can wake you like no other sound can. Well anyway I guess it got me up early this morning and I've already accomplished quite a few items on my list for today. Here is one of the them. These stars are so easy to make and if you are attending my customer Christmas party this Friday I'll be showing you how. Please RSVP, ASAP if you are coming on Friday. Until then enjoy the snowflake.

Candy Memories

For Lindsay's graduation party last summer I made meatballs. The sauce on them was chili sauce and grape jelly. Well, if you know anything about me you know that I don't like to throw away containers and especially nice ones that are glass. At the time I really didn't want to mess with the jars and would have just rather pitched them, but I didn't. Instead I threw them in the dishwasher and saved them. Now I'm glad I did. This jar is filled with bell shaped jelly candies. I've always loved that kind of candy. I guess it goes back to the days of when I was a kid and we'd go to the Sears store in Bay City. The old building over by the M-25 bridge. Mom and Dad would go there to make any major appliance or tool purchase and if us girls were good we'd get to get something from the candy counter that they had in those days. Carin and I loved Swedish Fish or the fruit slices. Yum! Mom and Dad of course would get the Bridge Mix and tell us kids we wouldn't like that stuff. I must have been a teenager before I found out that Bridge Mix wasn't just for grown-ups! Memories! I guess that's one of the good things about getting older, you get to have more memories. Go make some memories today and if possible take pictures and we'll scrap them after the holidays.
Blessings,
Renee

Simply a Snowman

Just a Simple Snowman. I just love this guy. He's so cute. This is a 3 x 3 card. Colors are Bashful Blue and Cameo Coral. The Cameo Coral color layer is done using the Round Tab Punch
Here is an example:

I love to make that extra layer on the scalloped circle punch using this punch. Give it a try.

What to post?

OK, wasn't sure what to post today, but I thought you might like to see what I did with my folders that need to be at my right hand most days. I used some of the Sarah DP that was retired from last years catalog. Gasp! What will I do? I used my paper instead of hoarding. I adhered the paper to the file folders using Craft Bond acid free multi purpose spray adhesive made by Elmer's (yes, the cow logo company). It worked really great and was very quick. Having your folders, especially the ones with bills in them look pretty is much nicer even if you still have to pay them.

Renee

What a day!

Well, yesterday started out really strange. We had a young girl show up at our door at 5:50 am and asking to use our bathroom. She had a boxer type dog with her, a backpack and a sleeping bag. Couldn't get any real info from her, but we think she was a runaway. Her dad and the police showed up shortly after she left our house and was headed north in that awful wind yesterday morning. We live out in the country so this is very unusual. After that was over I thought I'd settle in and get some book work done. Just as I was finishing paying our bills, my mom calls and tells me that my dad fell on the ice in their driveway and his head is bleeding and he's acting kind of goofy. This was all before noon. I spent the rest of the afternoon at the hospital with my folks. Dad should be released later this evening and he seems to be fine other than a bad headache. Hopefully everything will be fine.

So today I'm catching up on a few things and waiting for the UPS man to arrive with an order that I need to sort and deliver. I finished this project that I had started on Sunday evening. This is made using the On Board Ginormous Pieces. Yes, thanks to Jenn over on SCS I learned how to make words a click-able link. Yeah!!!! Thanks Jenn for helping a total stranger. Stampers just seem to have a bond even when we don't really know each other. Watch out now, I'll be linking to all kinds of stuff for you. And for those who don't know anything about links, when you see a word underlined that usually means you can click on it and it will take you to where or what is underlined. Make sense? If I can learn anyone can learn. Ask the guy who got me into computers years ago. Anyway here's what I made to show you today. Hope you like it.

Blessings,
Renee

Wow It's been almost a week

Holy Cow! I can't believe it's been almost a week since I posted anything on here. What's up with letting me get away with that? I have been busy working, not playing (that's for my mom) and I've got a few things to show you today. It's a snow day today (no church) and I did take a little morning nap. God understands, He sent the snow. Now I'm ready to share. Speaking of snow................here's a card made with the soon to be retired Simple Snowman (109316, $20.95, pg.32) Get him now because he WON'T be back some day.
Here's another card made with a soon to be retired set. Solemn Stillness (103771, $30.95, pg. 46) This is a pocket criss cross card and you can find the directions to make one of these here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/crisscrosscard.php The colors I used are Blue Bayou and Choc. Chip. Sort of a different color combo, but I like it. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

And another Criss Cross card............Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Punch Pals (109489, $31.95, pg. 43) This card will hold a gift card.

Have a great day and look for more later.
Blessings,
Renee
