My First Cameo Project

Hey there friends!  I'm not sure if I shared with you the fact that my family gave me a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas.  It is an e-cutter machine that lets you cut out all kinds of designs and projects and in all kinds of media.  The most basic being cardstock and vinyl.  I know there are lots more things it can do, but for now that is what I know and I'm working at perfecting that first before I go any farther.  I wanted this machine so that I could use SU's beautiful designer papers and cardstocks to make 3D type decorative/gift ideas.  I had first found out about this by watching a video by SVGcuts.com and then I started dreaming.  I have such a good family so when I said I would like one, they of course listened.  I received it for Christmas, but with health reasons and lots of other not fun stuff it sort of got put on the back burner, but I've really been wanting to have some fun time with it.  Well, since my birthday was yesterday, this week is my fun time.  So here is my first project.

I bought the cut file from SVGcuts.com, downloaded it into the program and then went to work.  Once I got the pieces cut, putting it together was very easy.  The machine not only puts in the score lines, but also the numbers to tell you what order to put it together and it's all cut out for you.  This little cutie stands about 9" tall and 6-1/2" wide.  The head lifts off and you can put candy or a gift inside if you so choose or you could just use it as a decor item.  I will admit there is a slight learning curve with this machine.  Even though I am quite tech savvy when it comes to computers, this little machine has had me scratching my head at times.  Yes, you do use it with your computer.  I used all SU products to make it and the bow tie is made using the Bow Punch.  There was a file to cut the bow out, but punching one out quickly with my SU punch was way easier.  I used SU brads and the Candy Dots for the eyes.  The feet are attached using SU dimensionals to give some added dimension.  I think this machine will be fun to use and of course I have plenty of SU products to make my projects.  Oh, I almost forgot.  I stamped the body and head using the little flower from the set From the Garden.  The colors I used were Whisper White and Strawberry Slush.

Well I hope you enjoyed this.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.  Thanks as always for stopping by.

Blessings,
Renee
