I'm on a Roll............

I was busy again all day making cards, well that and a little housework, but as they say, " housework makes ya ugly" so I try and do as little as possible.  Cause who wants to be ugly?

Laker graduation cards anyone?  I've decided that since Glorious Green is going to be retired come June 30  I think I better stock up for all those LHS scrapbook pages that still need to be done. *grin*

I think the card to the right could be used for a boy.  What do you think.  I really have to work at un-girling my cards.  LOL

And speaking of un-girling...........Here's a Dad's day card.  I think I did a pretty good job on this one.  I cased the grill idea from somewhere, but the rest of the design was mine.

This card was made using up some odds and ends.  Does it look that way?  Well it probably does, but I think it's pretty anyway.  If you have any questions as to what was used (all SU of course) or how something was done, please feel free to contact me.

See ya tomorrow!

Renee

Third Post for Today!

I just couldn't wait.  I had to sneak in another post for today.  I've been working on cards all day to sell at a Women's Expo day on May 8 that I am vendoring and of course I had to play with some of my new Summer Mini Catalog goodies.  You are going to absolutely love the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Square Lattice.  It is unlike an of our other embossing folders and you all know how crazy I am about them.  This is almost like a rattan type design.  It is amazing!  I can't stop using it.  So I thought I'd share a couple cards I made with you.  I am using up some retired cardstock (purely pomeganate) and in the one pic you notice I used some of the new Log Cabin Smooch Spritz.  These will be available in the new Summer Mini Catalog as well.  If you haven't received your catalog from me by May 1, please let me know and I'll get one sent out to you.  The stamp set used in Tropical Party and I'm still using the Well Scripted from the Occasions Mini.  You can still order this set up through Friday, April 30.  Don't delay.  This set is so versatile.

Now to get supper finished.  It was great to stamp all day.  I just love my job!

Blessings

Vintage Friends

Good Morning!  Just a quick and simple card today.  I have loved using the Vintage Vogue set from page 26 of the Occasions Mini Catalog and it's matching Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel.  And the good news is that the Vintage Vogue set won't be going away.  It's going to be sticking around and will even be in the New 2010/2011 Stampin'Up! catalog.  Yay!  Now we don't have any word on the wheel so my suggestion is to get it now.  Heck, get the set now too, because then you can be using it now!  It's a great set for backgrounds, borders or focal pieces.  You won't be sorry!  I stamped the freinds with the F first directly on top of the background and then stamped it again on a piece of Whisper White and cut the F out and put it on stampin' dimensionals. (as you read that it probably sounded bad, but I didn't know how else to word it) LOL  The scallop edge was created using the Scallop Corner and Scallop Edge punches.  The corner is still available and although the edge punch was only available in the SAB catalog it will be offered in the new catalog when it debuts on July 1.

Remember the Occasions Mini Catalog ends on Friday, April 30 and much to my dismay the following has sold out already.
  • Sweet Pea Stitched Felt
  • Sweet Pea DSP
  • Eggcellent Eggs Kit
  • On Board Heart Book
Everything else is still available so place your order before Friday.  And don't forget about the May special.  You can see details to the right here on my blog.

Have a great day!

Renee

Bluebird of Friendship

I love using punches and this little bird was so easy to make and I perched him on top of the branch from the 2 step bird punch, even punching it twice in old olive and chocolate chip.  The borders are punched with the scallop heart punch.  Both punches are from the Occasions Mini catalog.  The pink is Pixie Pink and unfortunately this color will be retiring in June so you should really stock up.  You can place your order through my SU website or give me a call and I can place your order for you.  The blue is Ballet Blue, which also is retiring.  If you have any more questions please feel free to contact me.

Renee

3D Rose

This 3D rose was so fun to make and I can't wait to make more.  I found the tutorial HERE.

I used the Very Vintage jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel for the background on the Old Olive and also on the Cameo Coral Scallop Circle Big Shot Die.  The white circle was cut using the Circle Sissors cutter and splatters were made using the Air Art Gun.  What mom wouldn't like this for Mother's Day?  To top it off I used the Organza White ribbon.  This ribbon is fantabulous!!  All products SU of course!

Renee

Color Renovation

As I had posted a couple of weeks ago Stampin'Up! is doing a complete color renovation ,which I'm so excited about.  Not that I haven't loved a lot of our current colors, but it is going to be so much fun to have new up to date colors to play with plus have some of our old favorite retired In Colors come back. Stampin'Up! sent demonstrators a sheet of the new colors that will be added to the core color collections and yesterday I had a chance to play a little with them.  It was sort of hard without the inks themselves, but I figured out a way.  The stamping I did in Soft Suede which is an "in color" now, but will also be in the new core colors come July 1 so this color will not be going away.  This color is to me so neutral and can be used in so many color schemes.  I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit for the butterflies and did all four cards using the 5 colors.

These cards could be my next hostess gift and they could be yours if you book a workshop with me for the month of May.  So what are you waiting for?  Stampin'Up! has a great special for May.  Call or email me for details.

Well it's getting late and I need to get this posted so it counts for today.  I'll see you right here tomorrow.

Blessings,
Renee

Hostess Gift

This was a hostess gift the other night at my workshop.  It turned out so pretty, I almost hated to give it away, but it was to my dear friend Pam so I know it was going to a good home. *grin*  The flower is actually very easy to make once you see how it goes together.  I will see if I can find the tutorial I used to make it and if not maybe I can try and make one myself to share.  I  put some little 3 x 3 cards and envies in it for her as well.
I added some little assorted white beads in the center as you can see in the above photo.

Well I'm off this morning to vendor a scrapbook day event in Port Hope.  They hold this day in memory of a young mother who was killed a few years ago in a car accident (she was actually one of my customers) and the proceeds go to the St. John's Christian school.  It's very early as I type this, (didn't quite get it done yesterday), and I have to leave here early so I best get packing so Frank can carry the stuff out of my basement office.  I'm so not an early morning person.  Have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow.

Renee

A Treat Box

Isn't this treat box adorable?  You can find these treat boxes on page 159 of the current catalog and they sell for $3.95 for five of them. (115690)  These coated boxes are food-safe and are great for gifts and treats of all kinds.  They ship flat and are easy to fold and assemble.  They would be nice as is, but I had to fancy mine up a bit.  I made a ribbon rose and you can find a video tutorial HERE on how to make these.  Here's a side view.

I free hand cut the leaves out of some certainly celery wide grosgrain ribbon.  I think it now needs to be filled with some cookies and given away, but to who???????????

Hope you're having a good day!

I'll be back tomorrow with some brand new exciting projects I've been working on. You won't want to miss them.

One Year Anniversay Today

It was one year ago today that we had a house fire.  Wow I can't believe it's been a year.  In some ways it seems like yesterday and in others it seems like a life time ago.  We have so much to be thankful for.  No one was hurt and we had places to stay while our home was being repaired.  It took almost 7 months and we learned so much through that time and really felt the love of so many.  We truly are gratefull for all the Lord brought us through this past year.  Now for some more of the 6 x 6 scrapbook pages in Lindsay's album.  It helps to make nice pages when the subject is so pretty. *grin*  Lindsay is one awesome daughter.  She is finishing up her 3 year as a business major at Baker College in Cass City.  So proud of my sweet girl.

Have a wonderful day!

A Scrapbooking Good Time

Last Saturday I had a great day scrapbooking with some friends and I want to share with you over the next couple of days the pages I worked on.  This is a 6 x 6 senior picture album of Lindsay.  I was very excited how these pages turned.  Everything is Stampin'Up! except for a few word stickers that I won at the crop and the green polka dot ribbon, which was a gift.  Hope you enjoy these.

I want to invite you, if you live in the area to a Stampin'Up! workshop that is being hosted by Pam Bucholtz of Bad Axe at our church, First Baptist Church of Bad Axe.  It is at 6:30 pm on Thursday, April 22.  If you'd like to attend you can RSVP to me at ibecakes@airadv.net or leave a post here.  Pam would love to have you and so would I.  Remember there are never any strangers when it comes to stamping.  It's sure to be a great time.

Monday!

Why do the weekends go so fast?  I had a good weekend.  Spent Saturday scrapbooking with some friends and actually got quite a bit done.  I'll be sharing those in the next few days.  My upline Amy was there as a demo and she had a make and take.  I didn't get time to make one, but she gave me one she made.  And here it is.

Even though it is simple, I think it's adorable and love the colors.  Do these colors look familiar?  They should, they are retired In Colors that will be returning on July 1.  Woo Hoo!!!  I can't wait.  The colors are Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi, and Pacific Point.  Don't ya just love 'em?  I can't wait to work with these colors on a regular basis again since they will be part of our new regular color collection.

Have a great day!

Renee

Happy Birthday Baby Sister

Today is my sister Michele (Chele's) birthday and this is the card I made for her.  We are headed to meet for supper shortly so hopefully she won't see this beforehand.  Chele is the most awesome sister and friend a person could have.  She is loyal, trustworthy and giving to a fault.  She is a rare gem and I'm glad to call her my sister.  Happy Birthday Chele!  I love you!

To my blog readers, thanks for stopping by and in case you haven't been counting this is day 16.  I hope you are enjoying my posts.  I just may have to make this a habit.  *wink*

A Simple Sympathy Card

Unfortunately I had to make a sympathy card today.  They are really not a real fun card to make, but it can be theraputic to make something with your hands to show someone you care. I used Kraft cardstock, Close to Cocoa cardstock, Chocolate Chip Ink and DSP and the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set.  The center (Kraft color) was a frame cut with the Big Shot and the Top Note die with the piece of DSP showing through.  The winner who guessed what was different about my post yesterday was Anne Anderson.  I had used the matching color for the words of the colors.  Thanks for playing and congrats Anne.  That's it for today.

Blessings,
Renee

Good Morning!

The sun is shinning!  Yay!  Can't always say that too many days here in Michigan so I thought I'd say it. *grin*  The card I have to show you today is to me a sunny card so the two go hand in hand.  Maybe you have to be in my head to get all this.  Now that's a scary thought, isn't it?  LOL

This was one of the make and takes last night at my party.  Which by the way went very well.  It was good to see all the ladies up north.  Sales were good and I got a booking for July when the new catalog comes out.
I saw this layout  and design on a card by another demo, but I can't find it now so I can't give the proper credit.  If it's yours let me know.  I used different colors on mine.  Apricot Appeal (which is one I'm sad to see retiring) and Lavender Lace.  The Eggplant Envy will be sticking around though.  I used the 5th Aveune Floral which is on sale this month and the Well Scripted for the greeting which will only be available until April 30.  We embossed the Apricot Appeal piece using the Manhatten Flowers Embossing Folder.

Now just for fun, the first person to leave a comment about anything they notice different in this post will get this card sent to them.

Have a great day!
Blessings

Wishes

I have lots of wishes today.  I wish it was the 14th today because that is the day I get paid from SU and I get my milestone bonus this month.  Yay!  I wish I could just relax and take some time for myself, but that is not going to happen today.  I wish that those in my family who are having health issues could feel better and I wish that those I love could just get a break in life once in awhile.  Wishes don't always come true, but isn't it great we can turn to the One who knows all our needs and He will supply them as we need them, even though it isn't always in our time.  So maybe this card should read, "may all your prayers come true?"

Anyhoo this is the card for today.  I hope it finds you having a wonderful day.  I am headed shortly to do a party about 2 1/2 hrs. from here which is a long ride, but the best part is my hubby is going with me and we can spend some time together.  He's so good to me.

Lastly I want to invite you to a fundraiser scrapbook/craft day at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing, MI.  It is this Saturday, April 17, 9-5 and the cost is $25.  Proceeds go to youth camp scholarships to Bay Shore Camp.  My upline Amy will be the demonstrator on hand and I will just be me.  *grin*  So if you want to come and scrap, stamp, whatever you like to do, let me know.  I'd love to spend the day with you.  They will have demonstrations, lunch and prizes.  It should be a great day and hey maybe I will get one of those wishes. *wink*

Blessings,
Renee

Good Monday Morning

Well it's a beautiful day here in the Thumb of Michigan this morning.  I will enjoy it today, because the rain and cold are coming tomorrow or so we've been told, but that's Michigan for ya.

Friday was our youngest daughter Brooke's 19th birthday and of course she likes nothing better than money for her birthday so that is what we gave her, but I couldn't just give it in an ordinary way.  She had purchased a new wallet when we went shopping a couple of weeks ago, but her checkbook wouldn't fit into it.  She said mom can you make me something?  My response, yeah probably.  Well as you can see from the wallet, you knew what came to my mind instantly don't you?  5th Avenue Floral of course.

Just the classic black and white is a lot of pretty I think.  So of course the money was inside the checkbook cover.  I made her a card as well, but forgot to get a picture of that.  The checkbook covers came from a stash that I had bought sometime ago, but I may have to place another order.  If you are interested let me know and maybe we could get a group order together.

Enjoy your Monday!
Blessings,
Renee

A Confession

I have a confession.  I bought the butterfly die and haven't used it much.  I know, buy something and then not use it.  None of you have ever done that right?  So this is what I came up with yesterday.  Nothing real fancy, but very springy none the less.

Hope you have a great day!

10 Year Milestone

Well I did it!  I officially made it to my 10 year milestone anniversary with Stampin'Up!.  The last 10 years have brought many changes to me personally, but I can honestly say that Stampin'Up! has changed my life in many ways as well.  I have met so many people and made so many friends because of Stampin'Up!  You, my customers not only became customers, but many of you I am happy to call my dear freinds.  I thank you for not only your buiness, but for your friendship.  My upline Amy who I signed up under 10 years ago has become one of my dearest and closest friends.  I am truly thankful for her and although she feels many times like she hasn't been a good upline as far as the business portion, I always reassure her that the friendship we've made I will always treasure and her support to me means so much.  Stampin'Up! may come and go, but our friendship will remain. I've also added some of the sweetest downline ladies to my list of friends as well.  The demo friends I've made in the last 10 years just blows my mind.  Last year when we suffered a house fire, demos from all over the country came to my aid with prayers, support, supplies and words of comfort.  I was truly blown away each day as I received packages with supplies from so many demos I didn't even know.  Also the support I receive through various demo only web boards I'm on is amazing.  Have a bad demo day or even a personal issue and there is always a demo just an email or post away.  And last, but not least is the support I've received from my family with my Stampin'Up! business.  They are always there to listen regardless if they are interested or not and have a good way of faking if they aren't.  LOL  My husband is my main cheerleader and supporting demonstrator.  He loves attending convention with me and just recently asked if I thought we could afford to go this year.  I think he loves it as much as I do.  Not that he's "into" stamping, but he knows the joy it brings me.  He's the best guy in the world and I wouldn't trade him for a 1000 card swaps.  LOL  So thanks to you all for the last 10 years and I look forward to the next 10 with you.

The Cutest Trash Bag you ever saw!

Is this not a stylin' trash bag?  I used the square scallop die to cut my fabric and then just sewed it together.  Easy peasy.  The little loop hooks just inside the glove compartment in my van.  So handy and it's even washable.

Well that's it for today.  We are off later this evening to celebrate our daughter Brooke's 19th birthday at Olive Garden.  Should be a good time with family and friends.

Blessings
Renee
