Brooke's Senior Picture Book

Our friend Jimmy is taking Brooke's senior pictures. Of course there isn't anyone who likes their picture taken more than Brooke. This is one of my favs. Isn't she beautiful? Both my girls are so photogenic, which is so unlike their mom. I take horrible pictures. My sisters just tell me that's really the way I look. LOL Gotta love sisters, don't ya? So the other night they went and took some pics in the evening in Caseville at the beach and also in Camelot Lane outside of Pigeon. For those that don't live around here, it's a subdivision that is basically in the country. A very nice area and a great place for pictures.
Jim asked me to make him a book of a few of the pictures he took so that he could show them off. I used my Bind-It-All and some of SU's On Board small book covers to bind the book. I used the now retired Simply Scrappin' Kit, Summer Days to decorate it. Very easy and very quick. Hope you enjoy it.

Have a great Saturday!

Peek-a-boo

Sorry I haven't been very good about doing my posts in the morning. Mornings have just not been very good for me as of late, so I hope you bare with me. As some of you know I have fibromyalgia and this humid icky weather has just not been good for me. I don't talk often about it, so on to much "funner" things.

I made this little peek-a-boo box after I discovered it on a blog. I'm sorry I don't remember who's it was. I had just quickly sketched a pattern out when I saw it and then got around to making it yesterday. If it's your idea, please let me know and I'll be glad to give you the credit. I filled it with maple nut candies. Yum! Would you like to know how I made it? Call or email me and schedule your SU party and we can have this as a make and take at your party. What do ya say?

Speaking of Peek-a-boo.......

Who better to play peek-a-boo with than the 3 babies of our friends Jim and Trish Steinman--Sarah, Skylar and Sadie. Seems they are constantly loosing their "nips" as they call them. I call them "suckies" since that is what we called them with our girls. Anyway, finding the holders for them hasn't been easy, so with the idea of my Lindsay (she doesn't really do crafts) and my SU ribbon and jewelry making supplies, these are what I made. Lindsay dug out one of hers from her save box from when she was a baby (it actually looked kind of icky) and that is what I used for my inspiration. Not the icky part, but the design. LOL Now the Steinman babies are SU babies with the "In Colors" of their suckie holders. If the girls had been younger I would have put a decoration on the top party, but the age they are now they'd probably just tear it to pieces. Here are the precious little ones.

The twins Sadie and Skylar who are now 7 1/2 months

and big sister Sarah who is 10 1/2 months. No they are not triplets born on different dates. They truly were long awaited for babies though.

Have a great holiday weekend,
Renee

A 3D Project

Most of you know I just love making 3D projects and I love to alter whatever I can get my hands on. Today's post is a little ornament that has been sitting on my work space for awhile now waiting to be finished and I finally got around to finishing it yesterday. It is a porcelain ornament that I had purchased at Michael's awhile ago. I covered it with Cameo Coral Craft Ink and let it dry. Then I stamped with the background from Fresh Cuts with Whisper White Craft Ink. I let this dry well (of course I did, it's been about a month since I started this--LOL) I then put Gold Encore Ink on the sides and even rubbed some on the edges of the front to give it an aged look. I stamped the Live with Passion from Inspired by Nature with the gold and embossed with clear embossing powder. I tied SU's white taffeta ribbon on the top. I thought it made a really pretty ornament. I'm thinking it just may be a hostess gift. Could you be the hostess? Call me to book a party and you just may be the recipient of this beautiful ornament.
Have a wonderful day!

Open House Night and Class Info

Here is my Open House display. My open house was Monday evening and we had a great time, or at least I think everyone did. Of course "you" didn't if you weren't here. *wink* I will share a few things though for those who couldn't make it.

I made yummy cupcakes--strawberry and chocolate wacky cake. Some of my wacky cake fans sure missed out. I made little cupcake picks using the Ronald McDonald set Say It With Scallops. I thought it made them a little more festive.

Here are the Make and Takes I had available for those who wanted to express their creativity.
This set is Inspired by Nature and was one of the sets I received at convention this year. It's a great set with lots of possibilities.

This little lamb idea came from fellow demo Patty Bennett's web site. Her friend Sharon had sent her a card with a cute little sheep similar to this. I did change mine up a little and used the 5 Petal flower punch for the head and legs. The little googly eyes are a must. I tried using the white gel pen for the eyes and the poor little sheep just looked creepy. I used the Bella Rose DSP and Pretty in Pink cardstock. The thank you is from Flight of the Butterfly, another set we received at convention. And speaking of that, the bookmark below is made using the same set. The butterfly is raised on a dimensional with an additional butterfly stamped and cut out in Kiwi Kiss underneath. This really gives it some dimension.

.
Now here is my fav of the night. I made this Fall Pennant using my Big Shot and Stampin'Up's exclusive dies. I just love how it turned out and guess what? I'm offering a class so that you can make one of these too. I'll list all the details below the picture.

Class Date: Tuesday, September 23

Time: 6:30-8:30 pm

Place: My home on Brown Rd.

Cost: $15.00

What to bring: Sticky strip, Snail adhesive or glue, scissors and your paper cutter

Everything else will be supplied. If you need to order any of these things please let me know by September 12 so that I can have them here for you. Please RSVP by Sept. 12 to let me know that you will be attending because I will not be ordering any extra supplies for those "just in case" or "last minute attendees. I hope you understand. I have done this in the past and it just becomes too expensive for me to do this. If for some reason you cannot attend after you pay and register or if you live too far away to attend, but would still like to make this cute pennant, I will mail you all the supplies with directions available on the web. I will stamp, punch and cut all the pieces for you to assemble at your leisure, but their will be an additional charge of $5.00 to cover postage. Again I stress, please let me know if you are attending by paying your class costs by September 12, this will reserve your spot. Thank you for your understanding in this.
I know it's been kind of a long post this evening, but I really wanted to share all that I'd been saving up. I'll share more up close pics and info on the projects from the display table in the next few days.

Just a Quick One

I'm busy getting ready for my New Catalog Open House tonight so I didn't have anything much to share today or so I thought. Then I remembered I had some pics that I took of trades while we were waiting in the airport. A very nice demo (sorry I can't remember her name) had her trades in her carry on and offered to let all of us waiting there to look through them. I just loved this one. I'm really liking the vintage look and feel of many things in the new catalog. Right now I have so much to share that I feel like my head might explode. I'm hoping to see many of you tonight and if not, well lets just say you are missing out on some good stuff. So since you can't make it, why not give me a call and we'll set up a date for your workshop and I can share all this stuff that's going on inside my head before it explodes? I look forward to either seeing or hearing from you soon.
Blessings,
Renee

A Bella Thank You

Every time I go to make something I find myself reaching for the new Bella Rose DSP. I know some have said they are sort of getting tired of this paper (ahmm my sister, but her opinions don't really matter) Now who said that? It wasn't me, someone must be taking over my blog posts. Anyway, I am not tired of this paper. My love affair with it is only begun. I used the Big Shot to make the tag. The thank you part was punched out with the new scallop square.
I'm off this morning to help with VBS so that's all I have for now. Until later.....................Renee

New In Colors

I'm having such a hard time posting right now because I'm trying to save things for my open house which is next Monday evening. If I've already posted this card, I apologize, but I don't think when I posted this it was made into a card yet, it was just the flowers. I am truly loving the new "in colors". It really rejuvenates all our 48 plus other colors as well. So please forgive the lack of new stuff right now. I will post more after my open house. Hope to see a lot of you on Monday.

Ta....da...................

Isn't this the most adorable little basket you've ever seen? I made it using my new Stampin'Up! Big Shot die cutting machine. Wanna see how this works? Come to my New Catalog Open House on Monday, August 25 from 6:00-9:00 pm and you'll have the chance. Hope you are having a good weekend.

A Convention Make and Take

Here is one of the convention make and takes we made. You are not gonna believe it, but Frank did as great a job as I did gathering the 1 1/4" wide grosgrain ribbon to make this embellishment. He didn't put his together which made it easier for bringing home on the plane (I wasn't thinking and put mine together) so maybe I can get him to finish his and I'll post later this weekend. I know Frank does not seem the Pink Pirouette ribbon kinda guy, now does he? I guess that should show you that anyone can do paper crafting.
I'm going back to playing with my new toys. I'll have a post tomorrow to show you what I made this morning. You are gonna love it. Can't wait to show you, but I want you coming back for more. *grin*
Here's to a great day!

Decor Elements

Here's my fist Decor Element project. I don't think it turned out too bad. I used the sample that SU gave to it's demos so that we could showcase something small. I had the picture frame and added the Bella Rose DSP (it's a little hard to see) and then I stamped the word Cherish from the Baroque Motifs stamp set on the bottom of the DSP. The Decor Element is applied to the outside on the glass. Would you like to see this up close? Come to my Open House on August 25, 2008 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Blessings,

Renee

My New Blue Period?????

After yesterday's post and now today's I'm wondering if I'm in a "blue period"? Really with these two cards I was just trying to use up some thing's that were on my work space and also the one is to show another way of using the new scallop edge punch. How cool is this? I love the look. How about you?

Ok, that's all for today. I have a workshop tonight up in Whittemore. It's a little over 2 hrs. away so I'll have to leave early this afternoon. Frank is going with me so that is always nice. Speaking of nice, he's been extremely nice lately. I keep kidding him that I must be dying and don't know it. LOL He's been waiting on me a lot lately, weird, but good. Actually he is a good hubby. Thanks for all you support Frankieboy!

This is a 2 3/4" square and I punched the scalloped edge punch in the middle of each side and then backed it with the Pacific Point cardstock. The lighter blue is the Baja Breeze.

Same colors here except of a little Certainly Celery thrown in.

Enjoy!

Please beware

I just wanted to post and let you all know that if you happen to click on a link on my blog or SU website and it won't load, it's not your computer or mine. SU is working on some issues dealing with the fact that we will have on line ordering sometime this fall. Yes, you heard it right, you will be able to order directly from my SU website (http://www.reneeond.stampinup.net/) if you so choose. You will still be able to order through me directly just like you always have, but in case you decide you want to order in the middle of the night you will now have that option sometime this fall. Thanks for your patience as SU works through these technical issues. And as always please feel free to contact me anytime with your questions and concerns.

Picture Frame Creation

I thought I'd share a picture frame that my sister created to give to a friend of hers. I thought she did a great job. I'll have more later today so stay tuned.

Inspired by Nature

Well what do you think? This card was made with the new sets I received at convention. The long grassy stamp is from the set Inspired by Nature. The butterflies are from a set called Flight of the Butterfly and the word Peace is from the new Big Shot die Frank won at convention. I used a little glitter on the butterfly, but in the picture it looks like it's more on the card. It really looks better IRL. Honest. The colors used are Baja Breeze and Pacific Point, two of our new "In Colors." I also used the new Scalloped Edged punch. You are gonna need this right off the bat. I guarantee you.

I will be sharing more about the Big Shot die cutting machine that was unveiled at convention along with some other neat stuff later on this week. I placed my order from the new catalog this afternoon it should be here within a day or two. Yes, I did expedited shipping. Did you know that even as a customer or hostess you can choose expedited shipping? If you want more details about this option please contact me. I looked through my convention pics and can't seem to find one of the Big Shot so you'll have to wait until mine comes. This little puppy will open up a whole new dimension to our paper crafting.

I'm off to my mom and dad's tonight. My cousin from California is here for another couple of days and we have a family get together. Yes, the whole family. Please say a prayer. LOL Really, I don't mean the LOL, but it does make me sound nicer. Doesn't it? *grin*

The Catalogs Have Arrived

Guess what? The catalogs arrived late this afternoon. UPS never comes that late so I'm thinking he knew what they were and did it one purpose. LOL I will be home all day tomorrow since I have a cake I need to have done by tomorrow afternoon. If you want to come and pick up your catalog please give me a call. I will mail the catalogs out to those who have pre-ordered and have asked them to be mailed or to those who already have a workshop scheduled. If you need further info please give me a call.

Renee

No Catalogs Yet!

I'm sorry to have to post today and tell you that I still don't have the new catalogs. My UPS guy, Guy comes around 2:00 pm so we still have a chance today. My upline received hers yesterday so surely mine will come today. Let's keep our fingers crossed. I will contact all those that pre-ordered ASAP and if you didn't please contact me to reserve one. I'm sure this first batch will go quickly and I will have to place another order soon. Remember they are only $5 right now through August 10.

I had said that the first 10 people to pre-order and pay would receive a little gift from me so here you go:
  1. Pam Bucholtz
  2. Anne Anderson
  3. Myrna Born
  4. Lynn Schebor
  5. Ruth Badgley
  6. Becky Englehardt
  7. Bernie Kolar
  8. Theresa Gust
  9. Debby Baker
  10. Ellen Roth

Now since I've been gone and haven't had the time to get these all done please be patient if I get the catalog to you and not the gift right now. You know I'm good for it. Right? I am also working on the bookmark for the catalogs. I received a much better idea than mine at convention and I'm trying to get the details worked out on that as well. I promise though I will get the catalogs to you all that have pre-ordered just as soon as I can. Now we just need to wait on the man in brown.

So to tide you over a little here are a couple of samples that were demoed at convention. This first one is by Mary Polcin from Wisconsin. He actually received her award for being the first to reach her 1 million dollars in personal career sales. Way to go Mary!

This one was shown on stage as well, but I just can't remember by who. I'm sorry. I thought this might interest some of my Halloween stampin' fans.

Hopefully the next post will be that the catties have arrived so until then...............

Blessings

Sorry about no posts

I'm sorry I haven't posted for a few days. I hope you understand. I've been plain too exhausted and overwhelmed. Convention is so much fun, but after 4 days one can start to feel a little overloaded. I have so much to share with you, my customers and those that just even stop by for a little creative inspiration, but you'll have to be patient with me.

Here are a couple of pics from the closing session of convention.

We heard a doorbell ring and out walks a UPS guy. He says he has a delivery, but he's confused because it says it's for EVERYBODY!
The place went wild. There were fireworks, confetti everywhere and thousands of demos going crazy. There are no better words to a stamper than the words FREE stamps!
This is the stamp set we received. It is the new Ronald McDonald stamp set for 2008/09. It's called Say It With Scallops and will coordinate with the new scallop square punch. Yes, another new punch. Isn't that awesome? This set will sell for $17.95 and SU will donate $2 to the RMHC for every set purchased. And the best part of them giving us this set is that UPS actually purchased these sets for those attending convention and SU will be donating the $2 for every set to RMHC. How cool is that? We just love our men in brown!

Here is Shelli along with a rep from RMHC, Ronald (of course) and Dale Fillmore COO from SU!. SU donates a $100,000 every year plus the money from the sale of the RMHC stamp sets.
Well, I've got more things to get done here today. Photos to crop, newsletters to get ready, classes to plan and schedule, oh and laundry to do. I will be sharing lots more in the days, weeks and months to come so hang on for a fun stampin' year.
Have a wonderful day!

Exciting News

It was another exciting day at convention. Shelli announced this morning some exciting news. SU has partnered with Sizzix and will now be selling the Big Shot die cutting machine along with exclusive SU dies. You would not believe it. I feel like I've died and gone to heaven. I love die cutting and now I will be able to share with you all great projects made using our awesome paper and SU exclusive dies. And the best part you ask? Frank won a decorative strip die called Join in the Cheer along with the cutting pads and pre-cut cardstock in the In Colors. Can you believe it? I almost feel guilty because we both won something, but I'm NOT! I know that seems rude doesn't it? I really don't mean it to be. I hope you can just be happy for me.

Here is Shelli demoing the Big Shot. The projects she showed were amazing.

This is the birthday cake she made for her grandson. Way too cute! Do you think I could start selling these kinds of cake? Not sure how tasty they would be, but they sure are cute. LOL

I just absolutely love this bag that was shown this morning, I think Linda Hanson showed this if I can remember correctly. We have an adorable cupcake in the catalog. I just love the size of it. Here she did some paper piecing. This is just too stinkin' cute!

Here's a couple more bags she showed as well.
Hope you are enjoying some of these little peaks from convention and please know that I so appreciate those that have posted comments on here or have sent me emails. I'm glad I can share and I'm glad you are enjoying it. I'll be sharing more in the days and weeks to come.
Until tomorrow..........
Blessings,
Renee

A Few Pics from today

This was the main stage this morning. SU always does it up big.
One of the new sets in the catalog. Brent Steele showed a great card using this set, but I didn't get the picture or should I say Frank didn't. LOL

Here's a picture frame Brent made using embossing, DSP, and some of the Decor Elements. Very nice presentation and it shows how all of SU's products coordinates.
SU gave out prizes today. Everyone receives a wrist band with different colors and then they show the bands on the big screens and if you have that color you win a prize. Mine was black checkered and believe it or not that was the first one they showed. This is the prize I won. I could not believe it. DSP, a stamp set and the new scallop edge punch. How cool is that?
Ok, I better get this posted before my computer locks up again. I'll have more time to post tomorrow night since it will be a free night.
Until then...................Renee
