September Class Cards

Hey there again today!  Two posts today.  I feel like I should get extra credit or something. hehe
I wanted to share with you the projects that were made at my September class.  My class projects are usually a little more detailed than what we would do at a in home party and it allows customers to learn a few more tips, tricks and ideas.  I know I've shown a couple on my blog already, but here they are all together.

This one features a little different fold and the ladies really liked it.  Of course it was the easiest card of the night.  Hmmm...........LOL!
They also really liked this one as well.  They especially liked how we made it look like a door and those that hadn't already purchased the Hardwood background stamp had to add that to their order.

These last two were ones that I had shared on the blog before, but they were excited that they got to make them.
It was a fun evening and everyone went home with cards they really liked.  Thanks ladies for attending and spending the evening with me.  Now for those who haven't attended classes, see what you are missing out on?  Don't they look like fun?  Look for another class soon.

Blessings,
Rene

Tying up Loose Ends

Good Morning!  As you know I've missed posting the last couple of days.  I think I've had a flu bug of some sort and just haven't even made it to my office/stamp room.  Sorry about that.  I decided to clear up some things on my desktop today since I can't stand a full and messy computer desktop so I thought I'd share some things that have been in my need to post file.  So here goes.

This is called a screen card.  They are super fun and easy to make.  Might have to do one of these at an upcoming class.

This is made with a stamp set that was in the Occasions catalog and is no longer available, but you could substitute any stamp for this layout.  The colors and DSP are all the new ones and are available in our current catalog and of course in my online store.

This is  a card using all the new 2014-2016 In Colors.
Here is another Screen card using In Colors.
This card has some Project Life die cuts with the Framelits, In Colors, Work of Art stamp set.

There thanks for letting me get caught up.  If you have any questions please feel free to let me know.  Blessings to you and have a great day!

Owl Treats

Well we survived Monday and we are almost through Tuesday.  I'm not having the best week health wise, but what ya gonna do?  Just keep plugging along, cause "any day above ground is a good day".  Right?

I have my September stamp class tonight.  I think we are making some nice projects.  Most of them are ones that I've shared right here so hopefully the class attendees will be excited to be able to make them.  Class starts at 6:30 and I'm pretty much ready.  Just have to carry the stuff upstairs, but Brooke will be here shortly so she can help me.

I wanted to share something I made today that I found on Pinterest.  I'm not sure where this originated.  All I found was a picture and I winged it as far as measurements and such.

Aren't they cute?  I will be making some of these to sell at the scrapbooking retreat in mid October.  They are so simple to make with the Owl Builder Punch and the Fringe Scissors.

Have you checked out this weeks Weekly Deals?  Here they are.  Weekly Deals  I will try and post a picture of them as soon as I can.  My upline usually posts one we can share and she hasn't posted it yet.

Well I better get going.  Class time will be here before I know it.  Hey maybe I should go an catch a 5 minute nap.  That sounds like a good idea.

Blessings,
Renee

Lazy Sunday

It's been a lazy Sunday afternoon and I loved it.  Nothing better than a Sunday afternoon nap.  We went to church and then stopped and got hot and ready pizza and came home.  We watched the Tigers, slept and woke up in time to see them lose.  Not happy about that, but we are still in it.  Then I came down to the stamp room to do a couple of business issues and thought I'd get a post in.  I know I don't usually post on Sundays, but I've got a little post for ya.

I used the For All Things stamp set again.  Nothing difficult about this card at all.  I stamped the leaf three times, once in Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey.  I cut them out and only put adhesive on the bottom part of the leaves.  When they were applied to the embossed background it made them pop out a little on the top and give more dimension.  I made a several loop bow from the Gold Baker's Twine and attached with a glue dot.  The greeting is popped up on dimensionals.

Well that's it, I guess.  Oh no, I forgot.  I have my September stamp class on Tuesday night at 6:30.  Are you coming?  If you are please RSVP by tomorrow.  Please bring a pair of scissors and your own adhesive.  I will supply everything else for the projects plus snacks.  Cost is $20.  My regular attendees are always talking about what a good time they have so maybe you should come and see for yourself.  I'd love to have you!

Blessings,
Renee

Grateful for Scraps

Yes, you read that right!  I am grateful for scraps.  Why you ask?  Well I have to say that I think some of my best cards come from my scrap pile.  I periodically as you know, I make myself use the scrap pile to make cards.  I did a series awhile back on them.  I think it was back in May maybe?  Anyway that is where this card came from today.  The stamped piece was from an attempt at something I had in my mind and when it was stamped it just didn't strike my fancy so in the scrap pile it went.  Today I took it and trimmed it down and it became this card.  The fringe on the bottom came from the piece of Burlap Ribbon that I've been unraveling for projects I've already shown you.  Well I couldn't throw that piece that was left away, now could I?  I pulled it out of the scraps and it became fringe.  Don't ya love it?

I attached the Burlap Ribbon and a piece of Mossy Meadow Ribbon using sticky strip.  The bow was attached using glue dots.  A pretty simple card, but I really like how it turned out and I was able to use the scrap box.

We are off shortly to go and meet my uncle and cousin who are here from California.  They came to go fishing so the trip was short and they will leave tomorrow.  My cousin who has never been to Michigan referred to Lake Michigan as the ocean.  LOL!  Now that's funny!

Have a blessed day!

Freaky Friday

If you've been around here for very long, you know that I share a lot of my life here on my blog.  The good, the bad, the ugly.  Well today probably falls in the category of FREAKY!  I just can't put my finger on it, but I just feel so unsettled the last few days.  Maybe it's the weather (goes from freezing and gloomy to nice temps and sun all in one day) or it is most likely hormones.  I can honestly say that pre-menopause is not my most favorite time of life.  Can anyone else relate?  I think most of the time my family keeps looking at me waiting for my head to start spinning.  Cold, hot, happy, sad, tired, energetic....I seem to run the gamut everyday and honestly it's getting a little on my nerves.  So I guess hence the freaky feeling.  So tying in the freaky part I have a little freaky ghost card for you today.

I used the same layout as the card I made yesterday.  I think it's a great way to spotlight our wonderful DSP and also not have it over power the card.  I love that this set (Fall Fest) has matching Framelits to make it so easy to use.  If you noticed I also used the little banner from For All Things like I did on yesterday's card, but this time I stamped the Boo To You from the Good Greetings set that all hostesses who host a $300 party between now and October 31 will get for FREE!  Yes I said FREE!  That is in addition to the regular hostess benefits.  After I got the card done I felt it needed one more thing and that is when I used the little stars from Be The Star stamp set and stamped them in the metallic Encore Silver ink.  Don't you love the little gogglie eyes?  I had some in my craft stash to finish it off.

Well I hope you all are enjoying your Friday and I'll do my best to keep my head from spinning.  LOL!

Blessings,
Renee

Hello Fall....Color Me Autumn

I wasn't feeling the best yesterday, hence the reason for no post yesterday.  It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday and I just felt like I was wasting it, but when you don't feel well there's not much you can do.  So today was spent mostly catching up because I didn't do much yesterday.  Don't you wish there was someone to take over your chores when you didn't feel well?  If you find that person let me know.  I'd like to borrow them.  LOL!

Here is a card for today.  The minute I saw this set (For All Things) I knew I had to have it, but I must admit I've been struggling to make things with it.  I do like how this turned out though.  It just took me awhile.  I love the Color Me Autumn DSP.  Every sheet is just so.........Autumnish. *Ãœ*  Maybe that has something to do with why they named it that?  Hmmm......

Speaking of Autumn, when it gets cold out don't you start to crave comfort food?  I know that I do.  I decided to try a recipe that I found on Pinterest.  You can find it HERE.  This recipe was so easy to make and tastes so good, it will definitely become a favorite in this household.  The best part is it's made in the slow cooker and there is very little work to it.  I put it on yesterday morning when I just wasn't feeling well and knew that supper was going to be a challenge if I didn't have a plan in place.  This cooked all day and about an hour and a half before Frank would be home I tossed in the dumplings and it was done when he arrived home.  It's even better the second day.

On Tuesday night Brooke came out for supper as she usually does on Tuesday and we made some fresh salsa.  Our family loves salsa and chips so this will be gone in no time.  We got the tomatoes from my dad since our tomatoes never amounted to much.  Most of our garden didn't this year.  We'll have onions, potatoes and gourds and pumpkins.  Everything else just died off.

Well that's about it for today.  If you're hungry, stop over and I'll share my salsa, but I'm not sure about the dumplings. ;)  Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Grateful

I am absolutely freezing in my office today, but I refuse to turn on any kind of heater.  It is way too early for that.  Really what is cold on me is my fingers.  I need some of those fingertipless gloves, that way I could still type.  LOL!  Maybe my knitting/crocheting friends could do that for me?

Anyway I've just got a simple little 3" x 3" card for you today.  After making the cards I posted on Saturday I had some leftover leaves and wanted to do something with them.

My dad has built a few more of the Blendie holders.  The last ones went fast and he may not have time to build more before November so if you want one, let me know ASAP.  The price is $38 plus shipping if I have to mail it.  If you are local then it is $38.  They come unfinished as shown and it does NOT include the markers, but I can sell you some if you are in need.  The measurements of this is 12" x 5-1/2" x 5".  It's very sturdy and well made.  It will hold 78 Blendabilitie Markers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Renee

My Paper Pumpkin Leftovers

Who doesn't like leftovers, especially if it has to do with pumpkin pie?  Oh, there I go again, getting MPP confused.  LOL!  I had some leftover pieces from this past month's MPP and decided I would make some Fall cards.

The smile die cut piece was in the kit and it was just white.  I stamped the Hardwood background over it with Baked Brown Sugar Tarts.  There I go again.  LOL!  Can you tell I'm a sweet eater?  I cut out the leaves using the Fun Fall Framelits and ran them through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder.  The stars are from the In Color Sequins and are also Baked Brown Sugar.  I tied a little knot with the Gold Baker's Twin and then unraveled the ends.  Sponged a little Hello Honey on the background to give it an aged look.

This one I did pretty much the same thing except that I made a multi loop bow from Linen Thread.

Hope you've enjoyed these and thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,
Renee

Bow Die Pumpkins

Well we made it to Friday.  It's a cool one here again today, but I have to say that my walk this morning was nice.  I warmed up in a hurry and the sun was shinning.  It's now overcast so I'm glad it was sunny for my walk.  The fields are ripening and it's interesting to see the changes each day, although it makes me sad to think that summer is over.  I guess I'm having such a hard time letting go because they are predicting the same kind of winter this year and last year about did me in.  Let's pray they are wrong and we get a much milder winter than last.

Well the pumpkins are ripening too, which made me want to make some paper ones.  I don't know if you remember when I made the snowmen last year using the Gift Bow Bigz die or not, but I decided, why not a pumpkin?  You can look HERE to see the snowmen.  They were a lot of fun to make and I probably will be making some more this year.  I think the pumpkins turned out pretty cute.

What do you think?  I made two sizes using the two different sizes of the bow loops.  I stamped them first using, what else......Gorgeous Grunge and then the leaf came from the Bigz Autumn Accents die.  The little curls were made by cutting thin strips of Mossy Meadow cardstock and them wrapping them around a tiny paint brush handle.  The pumpkins are attached together at the top and bottom using a mini brad.  I used the Paper Piercer to poke the holes and then put the mini brad in to attach.  The curls were attached using glue dots.

While I was making them all I could think about was how much my kitty cat Sugar would have loved to see these sitting somewhere.  She would have been batting them all over the place.  It's been almost a year since she passed and I still miss her so much.

Well take care and enjoy the weekend.
Blessings,
Renee

A Little Fall Thanks Box

Well it seems like today Fall showed up here.  It's only been in the 60's, windy and overcast.  Not a nice day at all.  I got my hair colored and cut today (I'm going to be a redhead for now) and then I went and delivered a couple of orders.  On the way I stopped at the apple orchard and picked up some apples and of course some of their doughnuts.  Well Frank needs something with his coffee in the morning doesn't he?  LOL!  The rest of the day didn't hold much for me.  I've been so tired lately and I'm not sure why.  Some of it could have been the weather today.  Anyway, I do have a cute little box to show you.  I made it using the new Stampin'Up! Punch Board Gift Box Maker.  This time I wanted to try a taller box as opposed to the last box that I made.

This box measures 1-3/4" square and is 3-1/4" tall.  I made it out of Cajun Craze cardstock.  I used two stamp sets on this one.  I used For All Things and Truly Grateful.  These two sets work so great together.  The acorn and the tag are from the Truly Grateful set and the thanks word and the leaves are from For All Things from our Holiday Catalog.  I used some of the Burlap Ribbon and unraveled it to get the little wisps of burlap.  The four sides of the box are covered with the Cover me Autumn DSP.  Now who should I give this too?  Maybe those that placed an order at my Memory Making presentation will find this in their orders? *wink*

Well hubby is home now and we can eat.  We are late supper eaters, which isn't always good, but it is what it is.  Thanks for stopping by and as always if you have any questions please feel free to contact me or leave a comment here.

A Little More Memory Making

We had a lot of fun last night at the Memory Making presentation.  I introduced Project Life by Stampin'Up! (PLxSU) to those in attendance and they loved it.  Would you like to know more about it, but weren't able to attend last night?  I will be holding more of these presentations to introduce you to PLxSU.  Comment here if you would be interested and if you would let me know what days and times work best.  I want to accommodate as many as I can and I really look forward to sharing it with you.  This memory page only took a couple minutes to put together and no glue was even involved.  Isn't it a great looking page?  Wouldn't you like to preserve your memories too?  I would love to show you how.

This was so much fun to make and to see how quick it went together.  Our Project Life by Stampin'Up! kits are so easy to use and very economical.  We have Everyday Happiness, Everyday Adventure, Love Story, , Baby Little Moments, Playground Kids kits and even a Seasonal one that covers everything from Fall to New Years.  Contact me if you'd like to know more about this.  I would love to help you get your memories organized.

Memory Making Presentation

Well tonight is the big night.  It's my Memory Making presentation.  This won't be posting until the time of the event so as to keep it a surprise for those attending.  I'm so excited to share how easy it is to preserve your memories with  Project Life by Stampin'Up!  I find it amazing how quickly pages go together.  Isn't getting more done the goal instead of taking hours and sometimes days to get a spread completed?  This system just amazes me.  It's like why didn't I think of that?  Pages just come together so quickly you won't believe it.  The page I'm sharing with you today is a page that I stepped up a little by using some Framelits and a punch for the ghosts, pumpkin and banners, but everything else came from the Seasonal PLxSU basic kit and the embellishment pack.

It's so easy to take you picks and slide them in and then fill in with your PLxSU cards and embellishments.  I'm learning so much and finding creative ways to make pictures work when they aren't the orientation that I need them to be.  I will show you a page tomorrow where I did just that.  I amazed myself.  LOL!

Well, I will report back on how the presentation goes tonight and if you happen to be one of the ones who couldn't attend, but would like to see what it's all about, please let me know.  I want to schedule another time for those who couldn't attend.  I promise you that anyone can do this and you will feel so accomplished getting your photos and memories organized so you can look at them again and again and share them with others as well.

Blessings,
Renee

A Quick Post Today

Hey all!  I have just a quick post today.  I'm getting ready for my Memory Keeping presentation here at my house tomorrow night at 6:25 pm.  It's going to be a good time and I'm excited to have quite a few coming.  I can't wait to share.  Preserving your memories has never been so easy, fast and affordable.  If you would like to come just let me know.  There is still time to RSVP and I'd love to have you come.  Can't wait, but I have a lot to get done around here before then.  Here is my quick card for today.  Yes, remember I told you I had one more Christmas card before going back to some Fall things.

I used the Festival of Trees set again and the new DSP stack Trim the Tree.  It's a great little pack of 48 sheets of cardstock that measures 4-1/2" x 6-1/2".  There are 4 each of 12 double-sided designs.  You can check them out in my store right HERE.  They are awesome for making quick Christmas cards.

Lots more to share later this week so stay tuned............

Festival of Trees

I sure hope you enjoyed yesterday's cards as much as I enjoyed making them.  Very easy and simple cards.  You can order all the supplies from my Stampin'Up! store or give me a call to order.

I've got another Christmas card to share today and tomorrow and then I will get back to doing some Fall projects.  The card today is made with the new set called Festival of Trees.  This is a 13 piece stamp set and comes in Photopolymer.  It really makes it easy to line up the decorations for the tree and the exciting thing is, there is a Tree Punch to punch the trees out.  How easy is that?

Festival of Trees Photopolymer Bundle You can find this in my store right HERE!  The bundle sells for $27.95 and I think it really is an adorable Christmas set.  So here is today's card.

I used up the last piece of the Under the Tree Specialty DSP from the last couple of days projects.  I had shown you the white side and this green stripe is on the other.  I used a piece of Gold Foil Paper and then some of the Watercolor Wonder gold Washi Tape over the Gold Foil Paper.  Once again I used the Good Greetings stamp set for the sentiment.  Have I convinced you yet that you need to host a party so you can get this set for FREE???  Contact me and we can set a date up for you.  You know you need this set.  I used the Gold Dazzle Marker on the Rhinestones and then heat set it with the heat tool for a couple of seconds and added those onto the tree.  The star tree topper is from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and the embossed star background is a new folder called Lucky Stars and it is in the Holiday Catalog

Well I need to get going.  I'm a little behind on everything today.  We lost electricity yesterday morning when a farmer raised sprayer booms and hit the electric line.  Thankfully no one was hurt, but we were out for awhile.  Then last night just as we were going to bed a big storm hit and we lost power.  I reported it and was told that the problem had been taken care of.  No, I need to report a new outage and I did, but the electric company assumed it was the same issue and did nothing.  We were without power all night, which meant no fans or air and it was extremely muggy after that storm.  When I called again at 6:30 this morning I was told, oh we have that problem fixed are you still out?  Hello!  That's what I've been trying to tell you.  So eventually they dispatched someone at 8:30 this morning, but we didn't get power until almost 10:00.  It's about time for a nap pretty soon!  *Ãœ*

Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,
Renee

Some New Scrap Cards

After I posted the box with the pretty bow yesterday I had someone ask if I used a full sheet of DSP to make that bow?  The answer is, no I did not.  I came close, but there were a few pieces left.  If you've been around my blog very much you know I love to take scraps and see what I can come up with.  Being me, I felt like the question was a challenge and I love a good challenge so I set out today to see what I could do and here are the cards I made.  I used the leftover scraps from the All is Calm DSP which I had made the bow from and I used the Under the Tree Specialty DSP from the box.  I used half sheets of regular cardstock for the bases of the cards.

This one I used Lost Lagoon for the base and a little scrap of Pool Party for the sentiment.  The sentiments on these cards are from the FREE Exclusive stamp set Good Greetings, which a host can receive FREE with a $300 party total (before tax and shipping) until October 31, 2014.

I punched the stars using the star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I added a few Rhinestones and then popped several up on Dimensionals.  The base of this card is also Lost Lagoon with a second layer of Crumb Cake.  You can see the color difference in the Kraft DSP and the Crumb Cake.  I really like the contrast.

This card I wanted to have a specific focal point so I used the star from the brand new set from the Holiday Catalog called Bright and Beautiful.  This set has three different size stars.  I used the middle size star and heat embossed it.  The color I used is Soft Suede.  I first inked my stamp with Versamark ink and then inked it with the Soft Suede.  By inking first with the Versamark it gave me extra time to emboss because Versamark is a clear pigment ink.  I then stamped and sprinkled clear embossing powder on it.  I then used my heat tool to melt the embossing powder and give me a shiny finish.  In real life it is very shiny.  I of course had to add a Rhinestone in the center and popped it up with Dimensionals.

This last pic shows you what I had left from the two sheets of DSP.  Not too bad, would you say?  The All is Calm piece is 1/4" x 2".
Once again thanks for stopping by.  I know there are quite a few of you who do.  I just checked my stats and this last month I've had over 1,200 hits.  That sure makes this girl feel good.

Blessings,
Renee

Box Making Punch Board

Yes, you read that right!  Stampin'Up! now carries a punch board that will help you make boxes and the great thing is you don't need to use adhesive with it unless you want to.  You can find a SU video HERE. This video will show you how I made this box.  I made the bow using the Gift Bow Bigz Die.  For the box I used the Under the Tree Specialty DSP.  This paper is a nice cardstock-weight paper with color print on one side and a white printed pattern on the other.  I used the white side of this sheet.  (135825) $12.95

The bow was made using the All is Calm Specialty DSP (135823) $12.95.  The color is Lost Lagoon on this sheet with little accents of Pear Pizzazz.  I made a belly band to go around the box.  That way the recipient can slide the bow off without wrecking it.  This would even be cute to use as a decoration in your holiday decorating.  All products are from the NEW HOLIDAY CATALOG!!!

Here are the weekly deals....

Stampin'Up! has just announced a New Host Special.  This is the cutest set.  It includes all the major holidays plus much more.  You can view it HERE.  Get this versatile Good Greetings Stamp Set for FREE when you host a $300 party!  This exclusive stamp set is in addition to all the other exciting and generous benefits you get when you host a Stampin'Up! party!  Available only until October 31, 2-14.  Contact me to book your party now!

Don't forget you have until September 10 to sign up for the 50% off of TWO months of My Paper Pumpkin. It's a great time to try MPP.  I need one person to sign up by September to reach a personal goal.  Would you like to be the one to help me?  If you sign up, you will receive a hand-stamped card in the mail from me. You can sign up for MPP  HERE and don't forget to enter the code HALFOFF2 to receive the first two months at half price.  These kits are so much fun and after you make the projects you still have ink and stamps to use on other projects.  Don't miss out on a great deal to try MPP out!!!

Well kind of a long post today, but hopefully you got through it all.  As always thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave me a comment about today's project.  I always love to know if you like what I'm showing you.

Grateful Feathers

Well did you miss me over the long weekend?  I missed stamping and sharing with you all, but my hubby had the weekend off and we made the weekend about us.  We didn't go anywhere.  We just stayed home and hung out together.  Cleaned to pool, went swimming, cooked over the bonfire, watched some TV (we are now officially caught up with Hawaii 5-O) and basically just enjoyed each other.  Frank gets very few Saturdays off and especially on a holiday weekend.  He works for John Deere so they are always busy.  If it's not harvesting something, they are getting ready to harvest something and during the winter months they are repairing and setting up new equipment.  We are thankful that he has a good steady job and him getting some time off is always special.  Today though I'm back in the stamp room and getting things caught up.

Here are my projects for today.

I purchased the Four Feathers Bundle because....well fellow demonstrator Justin Krieger has a knack with using feathers and I knew he would do some awesome projects and I would want it and besides it was an awesome deal at $20.25 (clear mount) $22.75 (wood mount).  It comes with four different feathers and two Framelit dies to cut them out.  You of course can purchase them separately, but who wants to cut them out?  Not me!  I love the Framelits

After I made the card, I decided to make an oldie, but a goodie.  It's the 2, 4, 6, 8 box.  It's one of the first boxes I learned to make from way back.  I made this one using Pool Party cardstock and stamped it with the Gorgeous Grunge in Coastal Cabana.  I then added some Washi Tape just like I did to the card.  This would make a nice little treat for a special someone.

Hope you've enjoyed these projects.  If you have any questions or would like to order any products please visit my Stampin'Up! website.  You can send me a message from my site and orders can be placed 24/7 from there as well.

Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,
Renee
